I was told that when I call to get service it would be no problem moving my service when I moved so i got the service and the first month was fine we had gig left over and everything but soon as the next cycle came all of a sudden we were over to the point it didn't give us more gigs I tried calling but I couldn't understand my rep fully and basically got talk to like a child about how many devices were hook up. So it's finally time to move and the day the contractor was supposed to show up I get a call saying they weren't allowed to install in my apartments I explained I had talked to them and they said it ok to mount it to a pole as long as it isn't on the building he then said the apartments were to many stories but I was on the first floor so he never came so i call and told hughesnet and in return they start trying to charge my card 400 bucks for early termination.Review from Gette E

They have hidden fees in the hidden payments within the contract. They representatives will do anything to sell it to you and whatever you want to cancel they charge a surcharge of $400 to cancel and $700. If you cannot return the equipment, they also get into a screaming match about how if they will run your credit down to the ground since you wanna cancel their service. And they become super pushy, whenever you try to cancel about trying to stay a HughesNet customer. In my instance, I had to move across the country to a place where Hugget is not supported. Therefore I canceled my service wanted to move, but there is no canceling without being on the phone with a representative for over two hours, as they tried to continue to push me to stay with HughesNet. I do not enjoy the fact that I am in the military, and they are threatening to run my credit to the ground and that they are not understanding when someone in the military who has the move constantly is wanting to cancel their service because they cannot either afford it or continue in a new location. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service, and the general rules of the contract. threatening to run someones credit to the ground is no small thing, they should be held accountable for all of the pain and suffering that they have caused many different people, including myself.Review from Mason M

My name is ************** Ive had this service for under 3 months. The modem stopped responding almost a month ago. After being on the phone for 2 hours, they said I needed a new modem. They would mail it *** and for me to call em to help set it up. 3 weeks went by and I called because no modem has arrived. When I called to check on the modem, they said they never sent it because a technician has to come out and set it up. So, another week without internet. Funny, they still took my monthly payment today. I called to cancel the service and its only gonna cost me $389 to cancel! Lowest quality, highest price, with the most poor customer service out of any provider Ive ever used.Review from Tia F

How does this company have an A+ rating? I am in shock! I had Hughesnet installed and signed up for a plan that they thought would be appropriate for my usage. Well, it wasn't even close to being able to handle TV let alone working from home so I had no choice but to upgrade to the highest possible package. They had add on boxes and some aplifyer type thing that I had to install... and after adding that mess to my office space, it still wasn't fast enough. I cancelled the service within the 30 day trial period and that was fine. They asked me to return all the equipment and just dispose of the brand new dish they installed on the roof. (very poor business model if you ask me). I returned everything and a couple of months later, I get an automatic charge withdrawal from my account for almost $263.75! I finally speak with someone in a very loud call center and discover that the charge was for a box of some kind that is attached to the satellite they told me to dispose of! After explaining that I was never asked to take anything off from the satellite, I told them it was still on the roof so they need to come get it and not expect a customer to disassemble it themselves. She then tells me that it would be a $100 charge to send someone over but that they would waive 50% so it would only be $50. Are you kidding me? They finally agreed to just send someone over at no additional charge and sent me a text about the appointment, telling me that I needed to call and and schedule with whatever company they use here. Not having a lot of luck getting on the calendar and in the meantime, $263.75 is being held until they receive the equipment. I am 100% not impressed by the whole experience I've had with Hughesnet and if I could give them a negative 10, I would!Review from Virginia E

One of the worst rural internet Network Systems. Not only do they have ridiculously high prices, they show no respect for the customer. My internet, after a storm, was no longer enough speed to run my security system. My security system has sent out a tech 3 different times at no charge. He checked to insure the equipment was OK then tried to set it back up. When it didn't work, he checked the internet speed an d it was extremely low. I called Hughes Net and was assured there was now sufficient speed for my security system. After the security tech made a 2nd free call, the upload speed was even slower. After calling Hughes Net for the 3rd time, no technician came but I was told I now had 25 upload speed, with an upgrade to my internet system, and $20 more per month. The security tech returned today, but my speed had actually dropped from 3.6 to 2.4. I just called Hughes Net and was threatened for saying ,"This is stupid". I did not call anyone stupid and even if I had, that is not profanity. After asking to speak to the manager, I was disconnected and they never called back, even though they asked for my phone number, which I gave them 3 different times. Companies are in business to serve the customers, or at least you should be.Review from Christine H

Internet is always going out. They said a tech would be here the next day. Got a text saying the tech wont be out for 2 days. Called back and they claim they never told me that which is a lie. They charge me even when I have no internet. So I have to pay for internet I cannot use. I work from home and I am on the verge of losing my job because of them. Worse company everReview from Tena E

I had HughesNet for 2 years until the end of my contract this year. Monthly bill was *****.I don't have a contract now. One month I am being charged 55.00, *****, 30.00. Every month is guess your bill and call us. Last month they took out ***** this month 55.0.0 At the beginning of the year a representative said the cost would be ***** a month.I canceled. They won't honor the price of *****. But tell you that for the next 2 months we can give you the price of ***** a month.Better yet. My usage is about 1/2 hour at the most over a 4 month period. I find this to be unfair business practices. In our area it's hughesnet or ******** I was under the impression that all senior citizens should have access to affordable internet. That not true.HughesNet keeps prices high. Needless to say, I no longer have internetReview from Gary W

Two year contract expires and the speed slows down. Same thing as two years ago. You can buy extra or upgrade, $$$. I will be saying goodbye shortly. Researching now to determine which one is best.
