Canceled my service on 2/25 paid cancelation fee of $325, mailed back equipment and have tracking information where equipment was received on 3/10 along with pictures I took at *** store of employee receiving my box (opened so you could see what was being sent back, then I sealed it). On April 26th $219.50 was taking out of my bank account by **********************. I have called and spoke with SEVERAL people (all different excuses, and I let them know the phone call was being recorded due to issues with Hughes Net from the beginning). They proceed to tell me I can not receive my money back until the next billing cycle which is May 25th. I don't do reviews much but the lack of communication, the lack of doing a job, and the inconsistency of this company is a joke. I have all my notes, documents, tracking, proof of receiving the equipment and recorded phone calls because I am the one that is having to suffer for the money STOLEN out of my bank account. The ONLY reason I went with Hughes Net to begin with is they were the only internet service where I lived (thank goodness I have options now). Please if you have options DO NOT USE HUGHES NET you will regret it. I am working with my bank at this time to file Fraud charges due to all the documents I have on my end. Once you cancel your service they delete your access to your account online so they still have my debit card on file and wouldn't allow me to remove it. SO they keep your card on file in cases like this where they don't do their job and can suddenly STEAL money out of your bank accounts. I have to wait at least a month for their process to even see my money bank that they had no right or permission to take to begin with. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND **********************!

Internet is too slow and unsuitable for work. It's too slow so it takes forever to open anything on my work computer. I got Earthlink in July because Hughesnet is horrible but Earthlink is just as bad. So, I kept both because when ********* is not working it automatically connects to Hughesnet but I can barely get anything done. I finally got *********** and it's a thousand times better than both Hughesnet and Earthlink combined. I paid Hughesnet $824.04. And there is a Early termination fee of $307.20. If that amount is taken out I want a refund of that amount as well. I would like that fee waived and a full refund immediately. Horrible service of the internet I had to switch jobs twice and sign up for 2 different internet providers until I finally got ***********, thank God. I have spent over $4000 trying to get proper internet which I would not have had to do if Hughesnet worked properly. So no, I will not accept this response until I get a full refund of $1131.24 immediately. Don't worry I will return the garbage to Hughesnet. I can't wait for Hughesnet to go bankrupt. This company is a scam and a waste of space and money Everyone needs to go to jail for theft.

They get no stars from me. I lost my home in flood called them to transfer my service to a temporary place we were staying while my home was rebuilt they canceled my service at my home address put a new account in my daughters name without anyone permission. When I spoke to them they said she was the one whom called and set up new service which she did not I called to transfer service tied to explain they refuse to listen. They are refusing to fix their mistake and keeps telling us that it will cost me $350 to get out of contract and to start a new one. I cant even do anything to MY service without them getting her permission first. All paper work has my signature.

I have called HughesNet 3 times trying to return my equipment. Each time I get the same ole blah, blah, blah The 3rd time though. They show NO record of me calling. Sounds like the customer service ***** as bad as their internet service did. They can come pick up their own equipment and I will NOT be paying them one cent DO NOT USE.Absolutely hideous company!Had to at least give them one star to be able to leave a review. I would have left them no stars if one had that option.

No Stars for them. I had them for 11 years. Tried to get out of the contract because we purchased a V See box. The internet didn't work with the box. Tried to cancel, they are telling me I owe over $400. Don't know what to do!

If I could give them a negative rating, I would, but I can't, so they have to get a 1. They were a horrible service from the minute the service was connected. I live out in the country and my internet service choices are limited, but Hughesnet assured me that I would have great service. The service man had finished the setup and left, and literally 10 minutes later I started having problems. The picture was buffering badly. I called, and I was told that I had an "excellent" connection, so they had no idea what the problem was, and they couldn't send the service man back, since it showed no problem. I had the service for several months, and continued to have buffering, picture freeze, and just loss of service. Then whenever it stormed, I lost the connection completely for the length of the storm. I made several calls to them to no avail, they continued to tell me I had an excellent connection, when, obviosly, I didn't. Not only that, but I was paying $85/month for poor service and limited data. After about 8 months of this, I was able to switch to a much cheaper service (T-mobile) with unlimited data. Needless to say, I DO NOT RECOMMEND HUGHSNET.

Anyone looking for an internet provider? Stay as far away from Hughesnet as possible. From the start the idiot technician installed this large enough satellite to speak with aliens in the middle of my porch roof. When questioned I was told it was the best spot for the satellite communication. When questioned if they could move it to the upper roof I was told they could but they would charge extra for that. Had their garbage service for exactly 31 days, called multiple times to troubleshoot my connection issues. Literally the same speed as the old dialup internet. So we switch to another company, tell them we are cancelling service and they bill me for $300! They refused to waive the fee even though

**************** is NOT good, every time I called them about something they automatic renew my contract. So when finally got upset and cancelled my service they charged me a cancellation fee. When I asked for proof that I renewed the contract they stated I did it on line and could not provide proof. I informed them that I have not been on their website, of course that doesn't matter.

Hughesnet is more expensive than other providers in town, however they are one of the 2 providers that are available to me --living out of ******* has been very slow from day one. I had to increase the "data" (and payments) since we burned through it so fast. So it cost me even more for such slow service. When it was time to move I was told I cannot cancel and had to have it in my new place. I had the guys come out to install and we found that there was no "line of sight." Something that is not my fault and now they want to charge me a cancellation fee of 300 plus dollars. I was told by one customer care person that if there is no line of sight, then I won't get charged for cancelling, yet another customer care person told me I will get charged. These people say conflicting things, the internet is slow and I would never recommend them. They are way too expensive. And something shady was going on with how fast the data was used. And no I do not have any "gamers" in my home, either. They don't tell you everything up front. I had to move, which is expensive enough and now they want to charge a cancellation fee. Also it's always a foreigner I have to speak with which tells me this company is too cheap to even pay the locals. SO they have plenty of money that they are making by overcharging unsuspecting victims. Never will use then again and I do not recommend.l
