I brought 1950 era ******** hifi tuner & amplifier to KTS in March '20 to be refurbished & gave a $300 deposit. I picked it up March '21 & paid additional $1400. Repairs were to include fixing soldering & replacement of tubes. I also got a "refurbished" turntable. I came to realize that the speakers in the cabinet sounded scratchy & the "refurbished" turntable did not turn at 33 1/3 rpms. The owner said to bring in turner, amplifier, turntable & speakers. I delivered it March '22, & said I would like to get new speakers & have a USB output added. He wanted $600 deposit to get the speakers "reconed." Later owner said speakers were fine, but he needed to repair some soldering & that he had more time period correct turntable that he would swap me, but that he would have to get a new idler wheel and cartridge. Knowing from past experience they were incredibly slow, I talked with the owner 9/23/2022, 10/27/22, 11/1/22, 1/6/23, & 3/31/23. When I talked to him on 4/26, he said it was ready. When I went to pick it up on 4/29/23, he tried to give me different speakers. I told him those weren't mine. Then he tried to tell me that I didn't bring in speakers. Why did give me different ones? Then he said they were thrown out. Then he told me that he wasn't responsible for stuff left over 90 days. I came 4 days after he said it was ready. I said he needs to look. He said he doesn't have them and he doesn't throw anything out. I think he sold them to someone. I brought all the components in big clear ********** buckets so that the componets would not get damaged or lost. He didn't provide a more period correct turntable and gave me the old one back (repairs unkown). Now I also don't have the unique plug to connect the speakers to the amplifier. While he gave me my $600 deposit back and a pair of junk speakers, these speakers don't fit the cabinet, don't have the crossover, and don't have the needed connector. I will return the junk speakers to him.
