    Additional Complaint Information

    Customer Complaint:
Although this collection agency has provided responses  to consumer complaints presented to it by the BBB in the past, the most recent responses date to November/December 2013.  The number of unanswered complaints posted since that point constitute significant complaint activity in our files.  The complaints allege that the company failed to provide requested information about the debt in question, did not honor debt settlement arrangements and did not address questions that disputed the debt itself.

In February 2021, my wife and I were given a move out balance owed by our apartment. We paid the balance, moved out, and were never notified of owing any additional amount. 6 months later, we were contacted by Fair Collections & Outsourcing claiming we owed $107 and this amount was instantly reported negatively on our credit reports without us having a chance to pay or dispute. The debt was never verified or explained what it was even for, but we were deceived into paying it as a settlement under the belief that this would result in it being deleted/removed from our credit report due to misleading statements by Fair Collections & Outsourcing. We have attempted to dispute it multiple times, but the credit bureaus just believe whatever Fair Collections & Outsourcing tells them even though there is no proof for them to have allegedly verified. Fair Collections & Outsourcing has ignored the issue and any communication as they continue to pillage erroneous collections illegally.

I was informed in January 2023 that this company rated a collection status for a collection that was resolved and paid in full as of 2018. This rating of collection as of 2020 is pacting my credit report and was not in a collection status in January 2020 as it had been resolved for over a year at that point. This is rating on both mine and my wife's credit report incorrectly
