1 starDO NOT book over the phone. I had made a reservation online at the ********************************** *************** near ************ for March 7th so my husband and I could attend our daughter's state basketball game. A blizzard was predicted to hit our area on the 6th, so we decided to go down to ********** a day earlier. I went back online to change my reservation and saw that the rate for the 7th was $140.03 and for the 6th it was $89.99, for an average rate of $115 for the two nights. However, I was unable to save the change, so I ended up calling the **************** directly and adding the night of the 6th to my existing booking for the 7th. No rates were mentioned during the phone call. When we checked in on the 6th I was told my total was $313. They were charging me $140 for both nights. I tried arguing that their online rate was $89.99 for the first night and $140 for the second night, but they claimed the $313 was correct. It was late, we needed a place to stay, and I paid the $313. When we checked out on the 8th I asked to speak to a manager about my bill and was told there was no manager on duty. Since the stay, I have made three phone calls to dispute the bill and get reimbursed the 50+ dollars I was overcharged. I've been told there is nothing they can do. After I informed customer service that I would be leaving a not so nice review and added that I knew of three other families that stayed at the same hotel on the same nights and were all charged the $89.99 for the first night, I was told that my complaint would be passed to the "higher ***** I am still waiting to hear anything more.Review fromRoshelle F

1 starWe had a terrible experience with a stay using choice hotels. Upon calling choice hotels we were hung up on twice, lied to and treated terrible by great relations ***** She continuously hung up on us. The hotel was very pleasant and agreed that we should get a refund. But choice hotels was terrible. I would not recommend them to anybody. They are terrible at how they treat loyal customers.Review fromDavid C

1 starHorrible. No heat n dirty. Got put in 1 room which was worse from a 1 bedroom suite. Got down to 56 in my room by 4am. Got a cold. They went in my room with a do not disturb sign n said it was fine. All my personal paperwork in there. They said it was fine n by 5pm it was down to 60 so I got someone to come n see n I was then moved to another room that was nasty. *************. Downgraded but no discount. Never going back. Actually sat n took pictures because it was unreal. Someone slapped a board on the bathroom door n painted it white. Unbelievable. Couch you can't sit on you sink to the bar.Review fromNicole R

1 starMy recent stay I reported bugs on the bed 2 times. 2 different days and the second time the general manager accused me of planting the bug. I showed a picture of the bug with time stamp and they refused to listen to me and instead yelled at me in the hallway.Review fromCharles M

1 starI am a member and I received a call selling me the Bluegreen Vacations. I thought it was all about vacation packages and activities and I was told it was good for one year and I can cancel anytime.I called Bluegreen and found out it was for time shares they were selling. And I could only cancel within 30 days. During the sales with Choice, the word timeshare had never mentioned. I escalated the call with ********* and they refused to refund and refused to provide contact information of Choice hotel. They promised to investigate if the sales had misrepresented and got back to me they never.I called Choice Hotel and I have a ticket for this complaint and I was also promised to hear back but they never.Review fromBC D

1 starOn Sept 3, 2024, I booked *************************** (Choice Hotels) through ***********. The property was advertised as having the free cancelation policy (within 24 hours), no pre-payment. The dates were: Mon, Sep 16 - Tue, Sep 17 for 1 night. I cancelled on Sep 9, a full 6 days in advance. I was charged $131.38. *********** sent a request for refund, and the property did not respond. I called the property manager, *****, who claimed that ******* did not offer a free cancelation policy, nor a refund. I stated that *********** advertised the property as having it; he said he had no control over what *********** advertised, and that *********** would have to reimburse **** sent numerous emails to *********** with no resolution (responses were boiler plate saying they were looking into it and/or they needed more information after I had sent a comprehensive email with screenshots). I finally called their headquarters in the U.K. (Sep 14), and spoke to an agent named Lovely. She said that everything on their site is reviewed by the property (Rodeway) and confirmed. She also said that ******* has a virtual card with my payment and would need to reimburse me. She also called Rodeway and spoke to ***** who was apparently very rude and noncompliant. I have looked at *********** official site in *****, (independent of ***********) and they do advertise a free cancelation policy. I also looked at *******'s headquarters site, and found the same thing. *********** is part of Choice Hotels - a lodging franchise. I never book rooms without this offer since travel plans often change. This has been ongoing, with no response nor resolution from Rodeway Inn or ***********. One or the other is giving conflicting information about their policies. I have contacted Nebraska Attorney General, Consumer Protection, and will contact Rodeway Inn headquarters. Fortunately, the dispute filed with *************** resulted in a temporary credit.Review fromCody C

1 starYes I have been a member for a few years. I started this program cause my family don't get to go on vacation. Every year we have to save to go on vacation. So why not use a program where you can earn points. I like the hotels that afflicted with this program. Well I had alittle over 27 thousand points I know it doesn't seem like alot but to me it is. My husband I wanted to just get away for a few days so I started to look for a good and convenient day. I seen I was going to lose my points if I didnt have a active account. K was losing my points on Sept 1. I had a hotel stay on the August 31. I checked out the 2nd of September. Now this is were it blows my mind. I booked a room on August 31 so I booked a room so it shows I had a active account. But since I checked out the 2 I lose my points. Now from what I was told in a round about way if I checked out the September 1 and checked in back in the 1 and check out the 2 I wouldn't lose my points. Then I was told I could purchase my points back for $70. So buy my points that I already earned and paid for from my past stays. I understand you have 18 months if you don't have a active account you lose them but I did I checked in before I lost my time I was going to.lose my points. Apparently this happens alot. My family have to save for vacation.
