The business addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer either a) did not accept the response, OR b) did not notify BBB as to their satisfaction.

June 21, 2022, the ALCO workers arrived and started project after Tim, the project manager arrived around 9:30am. They secured materials from my garage and completed the project at 6:30pm. I reviewed project and discovered that the left side of the garage looked different than the other sides. I asked the worker why? He stated the left side did not have a window and therefore the sliding could not be measured evening against the garage. The sliding seams are different and appears not attached to the garage. I asked when will (Tim) project manager return to the site, and he said tomorrow. Tim arrived back to the site on Wednesday, and said the work was done by industry standards. I asked Tim why he had not mentioned the difference in sliding attached panels before starting the job, and he said they never talk about the difference. I express that my wife and I were unhappiness with the job. I asked for his boss contact number, and he provided his supervisor Howie contact number which I called, and he called back in 20-30 minutes and stated the job was done by industry standards. I told him my wife and I are unhappy with the completion. Tim, also said after a few hot days the panels will attach itself to the garage. I told Tim and Howie that ALCO should had informed us how the job would appear once completed then we would not be discussing the difference in appears of the sliding's on the garage. I asked Tim could not a few tacks be added to each open area to make these seams look more attached and he stated it was not industry standards and should remain the same. We contacted the company last year and signed an agreement then they came back to say the sales agent used the incorrect agreement but, wanted us to continue with job without an agreed amount of the cost. We still contacted them this year and now find ourselves with a completed project by ALCO. But with an issue with the sliding installation on the left side of our garage.

My wife and I are not satisfied with the job completed. Three sides of the garage look great. Unfortunately, one side does not lend itself to the eye. We have talked with the project manager who claims the siding was done correct. I asked why, two sides look good, but this other side look uncompleted with 13 seam lines showing. The answer given was the other two sides have a window which allow a break in the panel. I then asked why this description was not explain to us from the beginning. (Tim) answer was we do not explain how a project will look. I informed him if he had provided an overview of the project which the salesperson (Shaun) said he would conduct a site visit before starting the project this overview would and should had been told to me and my wife. I asked to speak with (Tim's Boss) Therefore, I called (Howie) and left a message and (Howie) did call and only said the job was completed based on industry standard. I informed him that my wife and I are not happy with the current look of the garage. ALCO makes a claim as exterior experts who provide a quality job. However, we're not happy with this job and are requesting and adjustment in each seam of the 13 siding or a discounted price.

I am sorry you are not satisfied with the project. We are a family owned and operated business and we strive for 100% customer satisfaction and take all feedback very seriously. To address a few points, a site visit did occur in order to review the project and perform a take off - however - if there was any confusion after that meeting, I apologize. To reiterate what both Tim and Howie said, whenever you are installing siding, if there is a break in the wall (window, door, etc), it will allow for less seams as there is not a continuous run of siding. The wall in question has no breaks meaning it is continuous sliding across the whole section. The wall is bigger than the lengths of panels which means there are going to be seams in the siding (as is the case with any siding project). We have specific manufacturer guidelines we have to follow in order to properly install the siding and provide you with the manufacturer warranty. The seams were done properly per both manufacturer specifications and Vinyl Siding Institute best practices. To redo the seams as you had requested Tim do on site would have led to an improper installation, meaning the warranty from the manufacturer would have been voided and there could have been potential water management issues as well as issues related to wind getting behind the panels during a storm. I am sorry that you are unhappy with the final appearance but again, everything was installed properly per the manufacturers instructions and doing anything differently would not have been correct.
