Date 17 October, amount 190.00, business committed to provide collections, nature of dispute is that I have never been notified of this collection. I recently noticed that my credit report was hit and knocked down for their credit reporting of delinquent payment. I have never received a notice of who the biller is, the amount of the bill due, and when the date of the dispute was initially sold to them to collect for their company. Their business has not tried to resolve this account all they did was add it to the credit report and I looked and saw they initially had the account in January 2022 without any notification from then until now is 10 months of them waiting and sitting on this giving me no idea that there was a dispute to be made until they sent it to the credit reporting agency as a default payment. How is this company in business?

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/10/24) */ She is confused. Here are all notes concerning. We spoke with her & we mailed notices. 10-24-2022 @ 09:38 by DW - ***** @ client called & wants acct closed & returned 10-20-2022 @ 13:32 by TE - V.A. rep called and asked this be put on insurance hold as they are rebilling. 10-18-2022 @ 10:09 by TE - Tried to call and Follow up and Voice mail is full. Sent an BA and BB letters. 10-18-2022 @ 10:05 by TE - Debtor sent email about this being on her Credit. Email reads as follows," This account showed up with only the name of this company on a credit report this past month. Apparently you've placed a collection of debt on the account that was never corresponded to the account holder. In regards to what it doesn't state, and in regards to what date the transaction it doesn't state. What is the company, date, and amount that was sent to your company for collections? Thank you, V. *****" Spoke to debtor back in April and went over bill and emailed her our notice. She said she would Follow up and now wonders why it has reported to her CR. 04-25-2022 @ 13:55 by TE - Called and spoke to debtor and she gave me her email. She asked me to send bill there and she will forward to ********. 04-25-2022 @ 13:48 by TE - Mail returned Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/11/09) */ 25 April 2022 to current, 190.00 usd is the amount of the money that the business is claiming is due. The business has stated they are collecting the monetary amount due by making several attempts to speak to me. They have facts of the billing being made from the medical provider to the Bay Area Receivables department of veteran's affairs, and still are trying to charge the bill due directly to me the service member/ veteran. This company that is doing the collections is well aware that this is not the mistake of myself but of the billing department not billing the department of veteran's affairs and using the insurance information provided. This collection company has put the delinquent payment directly on my credit report as a delinquent payment when it's a fact that the insurance was provided to the business and to the collection company. In addition, I spoke directly to the department of veteran's affairs while they were also on the line and the department of veteran's affairs informed them of their wrongful billing. The collection company has proof of this since April that they've been notified of the insurance not being correctly annotated by the medical provider and still put the billing as delinquent on my failure into my credit reports 4x this past year. This last notification that I sent of the collections company said they would remove it again and have not. Their incorrect description of the payment being my failure, and the insurance not being updated has all been verified as incorrect and this is not resolved. The issue of the dispute is that their justification to keep placing this bill on my credit report is inappropriate business practices due to their failure to do their job. I've provided all the correct information and had the insurance office, and the provider all verify this information yet they can't do their job and are still placing this on my credit report. This is not resolved Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2022/11/10) */ As stated previously, The account has been deleted

I was transported by an ******************** in the year of 2016. In 2020 I recieved a statement in the mail from Bay area receivables at my old Maryland address stating I owed 458 dollars to them. I had called and allowed the company to talk to my husband and he had set up a payment plan with the company. On 7/25/2022 I had checked my old email address and seen that they sent me a letter stating I owed them 257 dollars. My husband had called to find out how, as we thought this was paid off in 2020. The first complaint is they never asked to talk to me prior to releasing any information to my Husband or asked him of proof as such as my birthdate, or etc. The second complaint is the person who was in charge of my account in 2020 only charged the credit card for one dollar instead of the rest of the payment as agreed upon. The third complaint is the company is unwilling to make a settlement with me since this was their error and not mine. Fourth complaint is that this company took the hold of my credit score, and then ran my credit without my permission three times then put the amount owed back on my credit score. Please contact me at ***********@outlook.com for any further information needed.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/08/24) */ The original balance was $463.00, she paid $206.00 her balance is $257.00. Once paid if full, the account will be deleted from her credit report. Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/08/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Dear BBB, This does not account for why the business only took out a dollar payment back in 2020 and did not take out the full agreed-upon payment plan. It also does not explain why the company originally took the claim off my credit report in 2020. Then they ran my credit score 3 times without consent prior to putting the claim back on my credit report. This also does not answer why my HIPPA right was violated by the company. As they talked to my husband on this claim without my permission or verifying his identity before discussing information with him. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/09/09) */ She needs to contact our office. Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/09/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I feel more comfortable with everything being documented with the BBB. As this business has shown nothing but unprofessionalism and I do not want to be lied to again. I do apologize for this inconvenience but I can not accept this as it does not explain anything in the previous statement. Like my hippa rights being violated why my credit report was ran why the original payment plan was never thoroughly done. It was on my credit taken off then put back. Which will affect my credit for years even after paid off due to the double effect your company has done. Business Response /* (4000, 25, 2022/10/04) */ she needs to contact our office !

Good morning, I am writing to BBB, in regards to a negative report on my credit by Bay Area Receivable. They stated that I have a hospital debt of 3624.85, I had call the collectors office to find out why. Because I had paid 2014.72 out of my pocket, based on hospital bills I received. When I tried to explain that to the customer rep, his response was very nasty and said that the money I paid was my premium. I explained that my monthly payment was $7 monthly. I would like BBB to look into this matter. Thank you, in advance for reading my letter. *******

I was patient at ER in Salisbury, MD on 7/09/2020. I was seen by ****************************, Cory T. C********. On 5/04/2021 the EOB was finally processed by *********** when they finally received a bill form ****************************. EOB was for $747.00. Insurance paid $597.60. Balance of $149.40 was paid by ************ (HSA). Check was finally cashed by them on 8/05/2021. Bay Area Receivables, Inc. claimed the balance of $149.40 was not paid as of 5/10/2022. I sent copy of ************ transaction showing check number and date to dispute claim. They still stated was not paid. On 3/23/22 - I then contacted *************** and spoke with ****** (855-********). They handle the billing for ****************************. I gave her the check number and she finally located the payment and said she would notify the collection agency. I did not hear from Bay Area Receivables. Meanwhile, all 3 credit agencies received collection notice of medical debt. I contacted *********** and received a letter and copy of the check with their endorsement. I sent this to Bay Area Receivables, Inc. on 3/25/2022. I still have not heard from Bay Area Receivables, Inc. Disputes are now on credit agencies. Bay Area Receivables has not corrected this error on their part. Also, they charged a service charge of $7.05 to my credit card, which needs to be returned. I have filed complaints with the Consumer Protection Division of MD and the CFPB.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/04/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They stated they "emailed client to verify amount if paid ?" Incorrect, they emailed me to tell me it was not paid and that I had been reported to credit agencies. I want my refund of $7.05 that was charged to credit card. Also, why does it take 2 weeks to notify credit card companies that they (Bay Receivables) made a gregarious error and this was already paid in August of 2022?

I have 2 collections less then $100 on my credit report and I was never notified of an outstanding debt. I am local and would have paid these bills promptly, however I was unaware of said bills. I only became aware after my husband I attempted to purchase a vehicle. It was quite embarrassing to find out about 2 collections from a financial manager at a dealership. I feel like this company is unprofessional and lacks the proper communication skills to assist in rectifying and outstanding debts. They have tanked my credit score for 2 bills that don't even total 100 dollars combined.

I had an accident on my job August 8th 2019 turn into workman's comp case Bay area receivable has now put a workman's comp case on my credit for the very first bill I was received that should have been paid but for some reason it wasn't every time they would contact me I told him it was a workman's comp case and I know it for a fact that the state of Maryland has against the law to put a workman's comp case on a credit report or on someone's credit I spoke with them many of times and gave them my workman's comp information recently I found out my workman's comp agent left I gave them the new workman's comp information and ask him if they take it off my credit they said they cannot until it is paid I feel that they knew that it was a workman's comp case and they said they knew but they said they cannot take it off until it is paid I find it unfair and unruly.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/08) */ The following are note from 7/7/22 notes at Bay Area. "consumer called office, i called the client spoke to Carol who said they have the info the consumer gave them but it is either the wrong claim number, or the employer never sent a first report of injury. Carol said when they called the insurance company they could not find consumer in the system" Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After speaking to Bay area many of times for them to collect a debt I told them it was workman's comp I gave them the workman's comp information that was received to me by my workman's comp officer manager at that time which was *****. I reported to ***** when the incident happened all the information I had and was given to me I reported to them I reported to who I was supposed to any bills that came up went straight to the company and workman's comp I was not in charge of anything because it was not built to my personal insurance so I'm not liable for anything that happened why on the job that's the job responsibility not mine and I told them that many of times I was driven to the hospital ambulance I didn't walk in I wasn't driven with a personal vehicle so the insurance was given when I was picked up by my job so I don't know exactly what happened in the transfer of anything but when I received the bill I called and gave them all the information that I had. I have now given them the new company that has taken over my case so hopefully it will be paid but I just asked that it is removed from my credit because it should not have been put on my credit in the first place with it being a workman's comp case. That is the biggest thing that is the wrong right now that it should not have been on my credit with it being a workman's comp case.
