I purchased a one year membership in advance for 2 people November 28, 2023. I used the membership until they closed March 5, 2024. They have not refunded the remaining amount pro-rated that would have covered the rest of the year I paid for. Time used ~3 months; or 1/4 of the year. $278.99 / 4 = $69.75 per quarter. Since I used one quarter, this leaves $209.25 to be refunded.

The gym permanently closed with zero notice. Im charged $20 biweekly. I was charged 2/22/24 and they closed on 3/5/24. I also paid an annual fee on January and clearly did not receive a years worth of membership. I reached out asking for a refund for the fees. Have yet to hear back from them.

Every email has been answered that was sent to the gyms email. And I will be getting all members with paid in fulls amount together for the owner and pass it along for him to give out the refunds

Hi, ***********************, and reporting orange circuit fitness formally to the Better Business Bureau for two reasons; 1) they are scamming customers and 2) they are closing their gyms early members cannot use their facility.I joined the gym, or circuit fitness, in October 2023. When I signed up online during a promotion they were having, I paid for the year in full. At the time, there was one annual fee. Now, they are rolling out a fee schedule and calling it an annual fee where they are charging their members $59,99 four times a year and calling it an annual fee. in addition, they are collecting new members and membership fees, while fully knowing that they are selling their gym facilities to other companies and closing their doors. They are collecting money from new members, and then closing their doors and breaching the contract they created. Complaint number two is that orange circuit fitness regularly has early closures and delayed openings. They blame it on the weather but even on nice days, they close their gym early or delay an opening. This prevents paid members from using their facility.I would like to form a formal complaint, and I would like this research

Hi, I went to go to the gym at the beginning of the year and they told me that I had an anual fee and on top of that, they are going to be charging me more money every month. I am only suppose to be monthly not anually. when I first signed up at the gym 5 years ago they told me if I went in before the 15th then I could cancel my membership and now they tell me that i have to send paperwork and reasoning on why I want to leave and it could take up to 3 months for them to decide if they want to cancel it. I just want to cancel my membership and be done with it. When covid hit, orange cercuit closed there doors and still charged us, Which is Theft of services rendured, And I continued to be loyal to them even after they did that and now they are trying to charge more monthly even though I did not agree to it. I want my membership canceled and refunded any money that is owed. ***************************

For several months this gym has failed to fix and have an operating handicap accessible stall in the womens bathroom. The past few months, there has been no heat in this gym. The employees are having to work in an environment that is not conducive for anyone to be in. We often have no paper products available. As of late monies have been taken out of some members accounts, deeming it maintenance fees, yet nothing is nor has been for months maintained.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/04/2024

Sorry for all the inconvenience the womens bathroom install should be fixed as of today. The heating people are coming back tomorrow. We thought it was a pilot, but theres something to do with the wiring and I have been keeping up with the paper towels and personally purchasing them myself, hope this handles all of your issues and again sorry for any inconvenience. We are trying to pull things back together.

Having been bombarded with emails announcing a special, for a short time only, annual membership for $100, I promptly went to the gym, Orange Circuit Fitness in ********* to investigate. The gym had terrible reviews regarding roof leaks and broken equipment, basically conditions that had existed when I was previously a member.I spoke with the site manager and ascertained that the business was not in danger of closing (the offer seemed like a desperation move), so went ahead and renewed in mid August, 2023. I paid $100 cash and was told to expect a service fee come springtime.Recovering from surgery, I never went to the gym until mid November when I discovered, sure enough, the business had closed at this location, but remained open in Auburn, an impractical distance for me.As I never used the facility even once I'm requesting a full refund of my $100 annual membership.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

    A) When asked directly if the business was in trouble I was told "no" by the employee on duty. I took that advice on good faith even though informing him I was skeptical.

    B) A review of scan card records will reveal that I never once returned to use the facilities after signing up and paying for a year membership, due to my recovery from bilateral hip replacement. The only reason I purchased the membership at that time was because the advert insisted it was a very limited time only offer and if I hesitated I'd lose this great, one time only rate.

    C) Clearly this was a scam to accumulate money while the business was still open with no intention of offering any value for the money spent as the business was already in court proceedings for lack of rent payment.

I require a 100% refund of the money I paid for membership and was defrauded out of.

    Regards,

    Mark

    My response remains unchanged.

I require a 100% refund of the money I paid for membership and was defrauded out of, not a smaller prorated amount.

Orange Circuit Fitness abruptly and permanently closed their doors on 11/06/23 at their ************* location. Having paid for a full year membership in mid June I expect to receive a pro-rated (7/12ths) refund for the remaining months.

The business closed the branch we used. We called the phone number but no one answered so we called the Auburn branch. We were told to email them and they would discontinue our membership. However, we were still being charged so we stopped payment as the gym was not longer in business. We just got a collection letter for lack of payment on a gym we cannot use. We would like the collection issue recinded.

My husband, *****************, and I each purchased a year membership to Orange Circuit Fitness in ********* *****. His membership was purchased on 10/27/2023 and my membership was purchased on 11/02/2023. Unbeknownst to us the gym owner was in litigation at that time due to having not paid their rent. On November 8th I arrived to the gym to a sign that they would be closing forever that day and to contact the manager ********* with any concerns. When I checked my bank account they had just deposited my check. So they knew they were closing and still deposited my check. Extremely shady! I wrote to the manager over the weekend and let them know that due to the very short period of time from when they sold us our memberships to the day they closed we expected a full refund and that we expected it to be sent to us within in a week. The email response back was very unprofessional and didn't give us any confirmation that we would be refunded.

****** not even a member and *** bought two month passes I included the sales transaction

    Customer Answer

    Date: 11/18/2023

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response by the business and they are incorrect.

You would not find ****** as a member as my name is not ******.  My name is *****-*****************.  My maiden name was *****-***********************.  I have have been attending the gym for 10 years.  My last name *** not have been updated in the account even though I had requested that.  Regardless my name is ******************* not ****** and they cashed my check for the membership so I should be refunded.

**** membership was for a year.  The lady who processed it said she didnt have a way to make the receipt show a year and so processed it on the receipt as two months.  She then hand wrote 1 year membership on it.  Regardless even if it was for two months he should still be refunded the amount paid as he was not able to use the membership due to the gym closing.

We expect a full refund for both payments.

    Regards,
