    We had contracted Urban Dwellings to provide a home renovation for us. We initially had a good working relationship, but nearing the end of the project, the owner was not returning emails and texts (our normal form of communication when not meeting in person). We had one in person meeting in January 2023 and intended to have one more. The owner rescheduled on a few occasions and we ultimately never had that last meeting. A few months later, we got a bill for the first meeting, as well as the 2nd meeting we never had. I emailed her asking about it. I screen shot every text between us as well as all of our emails, to show her that we never had a 2nd meeting. It took me a long time to produce that email. Months went by without a response, and the same bill arrived again. This happened one more time, and my husband then said we were not going to pay the bill and would consider the matter closed. That finally got a response from them. She did not acknowledge anything I sent her as proof that the meeting did not happen, and only said "she could not say strongly enough that the 2nd meeting happened". We told her that we would pay for the services received, about half the invoice. That was what the bill should have been to begin with. She then told us she would send us to collections for the remainder. At this time, we feel we need to involve a 3rd party. We don't want our credit hurt, but we are also not going to pay a bill that is not correct. It's the principle of it. I have loads of documentation and she did not present a thing in response to that. It is a disappointing end to the relationship. We liked each other and were happy with the bulk of the work they did for us. I can forward the emails I sent to her that have all of the documentation.

    I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.
