I have had three visits with this dentist, and have been charged the patient portion of the OUT-of-network costs each time, though they are an IN-network provider. I have contacted them repeatedly for a refund with no response. On 2/15/2023 my insurance was billed ($1481.00) but the in-network cost is ($1235.00) which is paid in full. My portion was ($617.50) but paid ($740.50) on the day of service. The difference of ($123.00) was not refunded as of 09/12/2023. On 2/27/2023 the amount billed was ($314.00) but the in-network cost was ($251.00) which is paid in full. My portion was ($75.30) but paid ($94.20) on the day of service. The difference of ($18.90) was not refunded as of 09/12/2023. On 04/01/2023 the statement (attached) from Restorative and Aesthetic Dental Associates bill mailed to me, stating that I had a positive balance of ($141.90), so they were aware I had overpaid. On 04/25/2023 I called & spoke with ***. I was told they hold our money for future use. I did not authorize this so I requested a refund of the $141.90 I had overpaid. I was told billing was out of the office but would be informed to call me. As of 09/12/2023 I have not received a call. On 7/27/2023 the amount billed ($257.00) but the in-network cost is ($151.00) which was paid in full. I was only told that I was "all set" the day of service and did not receive any paperwork, however per my insurance paperwork, I owed ($54.00). They may have deducted ($54.00) from my ($141.90) positive balance which has not been refunded as of 09/12/2023. While there, I spoke with *** at the front desk about the ($141.90) I had overpaid. I was informed billing would call me. As of 9/12/2023 I have not received a call, so I called and spoke with *** again. He said billing was out of the office. I informed him if I did not hear from them by 5pm, I would be forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They did not return my call. At this time I am owed either ($141.90) or ($87.90).

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/24/2023

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I will also leave a ****** review and contact my insurance company to let them know that this dental clinic charges the client a higher amount than allowed.  They will force me to get a lawyer to take this matter to court if I do not get my overpaid amount back.
