      We recently just moved and hired local muscle movers to assist us with this process. During this process, the movers expressed concern prior to moving our king-size bed frame through the doorway that it might not fit and they wouldn't want to break it therefore they may have to take the screws out. As customers, believing them to be professionals and trusting them to do their job appropriately, told them to do whatever they believed to be best. As I was downstairs, they just pulled the bed through the doorframe despite their concerns and ended up breaking the bed frame by having the s**** pop out of place. They then stated it would be a simple fix by drilling all new holes but when I attempted to do that after they left, it didn't work. We attempted calling them in hopes they would stand by their business and reputation and simply come to assist us in putting it back together since they stated:?" it was so easy". The man we spoke to on the phone, representing the office, essentially told us that since we didn't directly tell them not to move in that way, then it's on us. They started a damage claim and within 3. minutes of speaking to a mover on the other end decided they are not liable due to the reason stated above. Per the contract agreed to by both parties, the moving company agreed to assume responsibility? for 6 cents per pound of damage to the item for either replacement or repair. Due to their denial of our damage claim, we will not be receiving any compensation as outlined in the agreement. As a moving company, I find it highly unprofessional. If I have to tell a moving company to do their job properly by not breaking every item they touch, I do not see why they would be the so-called. I'm writing as I am highly upset and the company will not assist in any way or allow a claim, and I am now stuck sleeping without a bed frame that I cannot figure out how to reassemble with no guidance from the people who broke it in the first place.

      After extensive planning by me several months in advance for a move from ***** to ***, they turned up late two days in a row. Inconveniencing the man who was paid to wait in ***** for over two hours (and who had plowed at the agreed time at their own insistence). They were also late on arrival in *** which fed into the total chaos of the day as the end of the move coincided with school buses and bad weather on the street. I spoke to three different people to coordinate the move. On the day, when things were clearly amiss, I finally got to speak to a manager after leaving a message two hours prior and his only response was that it was the right team even though the driver had switched out with one of the other guys as he was freaking out driving on ******** streets. It was impossible to reach anyone else directly.The lead guy, *****, referred to me as "she" repeatedly throughout the day even though the more junior assistant had the courtesy to call me by my professional title so there was no excuse to be both demeaning and ageist.They were incapable of wrapping eight pieces of ****************** and even stopped in ******** for a mattress cover that they then failed to seal close so it flapped on a dirty street and one side of the mattress was black and dirty. A ************************* mid-twentieth century desk sat on the street without any protection at its base. Eight furniture feet were tossed into an unsecured blanket without any protection. There were no surprises for the furniture. Every item had been described in advance.I gave them $80 for lunch and advised getting some supplies for the drive back as I had already gone through my water supply for them and instead of thanking me after lunch, ***** complained that he had not had time to find pizza. Despite my advice, they brought no supplies for the drive back and kept insisting about the company credit card - no use in a snow storm!They were paid over $6,500 for this service!
