On Thursday August 22nd a deposit was made in our account. In order to reactivate the account a collections balance was to be paid. The balance was paid in full as of today August 22nd 2024. We were advised later in the day that we are not allowed to reactivate an account until another account was paid. This was not the agreement that was made and now the money in the account can't be accessed after business hours.

I have been with Honor Credit Union for about 15 years. I have had some problems the last few years but still don't think that it should cause me to be treated the way that I was. First thing that happened is that before my mother died we had everything in place due to her having Ovarian Cancer. Someone at the center talked my mother into refinancing her loan. This 80 year old woman going through multiple rounds of chemo and not really knowing what she was doing. I was on the title of the house, and a refinance selling her house from herself to herself which negated her will and the title that included my name on it. Due to this probate court was inevitable 3 lawyers with fees over $25,000 and had to split money that I wasn't supposed to split. Coming to today I had defaulted on a courtesy pay loan making payments that were not on the timeline as the loan stated which is my fault. But the person at the loss prevention department **** or something like that was awful to me. She continued to freeze my account shut off my debit card without my knowledge a few times so when I went to use it I couldn't, put multiple notes in my chart which made me look horrible to my "hometown banks" so when I went in to one of the banks they had to sit there and read through many notes which made me look as if I was someone that hadn't been with this bank for years and was just a horrible human being. I'm not great at keeping up on my balance, I can admit that but I don't think I should be charged multiple NSF charges when there is only one payment that their wasn't enough money. One transaction for $263.64 I should have been charged insufficient funds for but because of this charge all my other transactions went NSF which I had enough money for and I was charged $22 for 8 transactions. I contacted customer service and they won't take off any of the charges. For this bank being part of the community and selling it like they are, you would think that they would have more compassion.

I attempted to do a mobile deposit and was told it could not be done because the service was temporarily unavailable and to try again later. I took the check to the atm to deposit where it was accepted. Honor is saying I was fraudulent when it was their system that caused this issue. Funds for this check were only pulled from the account once. ******************** now has my account completely blocked stopping me from making deposits and letting my account go negative causing fees on my account. I have talked to customer service 3 times with the answer being a had to call back at a different time to speak to someone higher up. Despite my attempts to contact them my account is still not usable.

Hello good morning now all of sudden Honor credit union is certifying every letter to my address! Nobody is never home and also the local post office is only open on Saturday from 9a.m. to 10:00a.m. and me and my wife both work and post office is always closed when she gets home from work? So certifying letters to my house doesn't work very well for us!

This credit union doesn't work well with what I keep reading on my statement for each month now and they argue with me and they want me to fail on this auto loan I have with them. This is the worst credit union I have ever dealt with for an auto loan in my life they think I need to give them more money every month and not worry about everything else? I would like a phone call from this credit union not letters because I guess they are not getting what I am saying to them at all!

      Hello ******,

I just wanted to follow up with you on this consumer.   The last communication we had you were going to combine all of his complaints into one.   I also sent a NDA for your supervisor to sign so we could meet and listen to the audio calls from this consumer.   I've not heard back on that either.

Can you let me know how to proceed from her.

      Thank you,

How I was treated and the practices of Honor Credit Union I will be working to move my vehicle loan to a credit union that doesn't treat their customers like dirt.Approximately2 weeks ago as I was getting ready to turn into my drivewayI was hit from behind by a car who failed to stop. I took the truck for a repair estimate and sent it to my insurance company. I filed a claim with my insurance agent, ********************* sent me a check so I could repair the truck myself or have a repair shop do the work. The truck is not totaled and still has full coverage on it and I drive it everyday. So because of the amount of the check was over ***** it has the lienholdernamed on it as well as Mine and my husbands. When I went to the Coldwater branch I told them I wanted to have them sign the check so I can cash it and then my husband will do the repairs that are needed. They have refused to cash it unless I either let them have the check and they pay a shop or put it in a savings account there and only allowed access to the money for parts if I have receipts, along with photographing my truck the final straw was them asking for the credentialsof my husband to ensure he was "qualifiedto make the repairs" to my truck.I have my credit union working on refinancing the truck loan, I am not a child to be told how and what I spend my insurance claim money on, I pay my full coverage insurance and truck loan every month. What or How I use the claims check or who I have repair my truck is my businessnot honor credit unions,All that concerns the lienholder is that I pay them the loan payment and that the vehicle still has full coverage on it. I refuse to be treated this way over my money, I have talked to 3 other credit unions and not one of them has ever treated its customers in such a way, and would have no problem signing the check and absolutely would not try and tell a customer how they can use their money.

      Complaint: 21529016

I am rejecting this response because: I have contacted their credit solutions **** and that is what has lead me to contact the BBB. The only viable solution I had at my disposal was to close my loan through Honor Credit and refinance my truck loan Through a different credit union who also thought the way I was treated by Honor Credit union was utterly ridiculous and has never heard of a bank or credit union doing that to a customer before. This course has caused me to owe an additional 2 to $3000 on my loan, I feel Honor should be responsible for the difference because of their untrustworthy practices of trying to scam insurance money from their clients. They are not the insurance company who can dictate how, where or to whom the claim money is used to repair a vehicle. It is my right to have the truck repaired by whom I choose and if I find a cheaper place then the original estimate the bank does not get that money that is ours from the full coverage insurance I pay every month. Per the insurance provider the claim money is ours to repair the vehicle as we see fit since we are the ones who pay for the coverage of the vehicle. If the bank wanted to have say over how claim money is spent then they should pay for the insurance of every vehicle they have loans out on.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I am just really frustrated about how they wont educate you properly on why you have extra charges and also the stuff they add during your loan application. I was told that by availing the extra coverage if one of us lose our jobs we'll get coverage to help us with our personal loan. I quit my job due to discrimination and mistreatment from my manager and her team and I cant keep working in a very toxic working environment. I talked to an associate through chat and asked about the coverage I can avail and was told I am not eligible since I wasnt fired or laid off. That wouldve been nice to know at the beginning of the loan so we didnt have to waste hundreds of dollars on extra c*** were not gonna even use when needed. I feel mislead there. And today, I got rid of that coverage and still confuse about the entire thing. I just wanna get rid of it and avoid giving them extra money for nothing. We also have an extra charge of around $60 for our auto loan and they cant explain to me whats that for. Adding the monthly payment we have and the $15 late fee the total amount they gave me didnt add up. So I refused to pay it unless they can show me why we have to pay that extra $60. Its just amazing when youre in need and they wanna take more advantage of you, way to go. I am overall disappointed and just wanted to finish doing business with them cause its not even worth it. The lack of compassion from representative over the phone makes me even more angry. They dont truly understand your frustration no matter how much they say I understand .

Honor strives to ensure all members are fully aware of transactions and that specific account details are explained as necessary, so we apologize thats not the case in your situation.  A member of our management team will be calling the number provided by end of day Monday, October 17, 2022, to ensure there is full understanding of the account history and reasoning for any fees assessed. Regarding the involuntary unemployment coverage that was elected at loan origination, we will be sure to explain the details of that coverage at this time as well.

I was scammed out of $900 from my bank account at Honor Credit Union. The bank is forcing me to pay the funds, however, it is unacceptable to make the victim pay for a crime that was committed against them. I should not have to pay. The local manager told me that I have to pay it back because if they covered all the scams, Honor would go bankrupt. Again, how is that my, the victim, responsibility?
