1 starPublic Perception and Reviews:Negative Feedback: The agency has received numerous complaints and negative reviews. On platforms like ****, users have labeled Nine9 as a scam, highlighting issues such as fee-based structures, difficulties in canceling services, and unprofessional conduct. ?Industry Warnings: Professionals within the acting community have cautioned against engaging with Nine9. For instance, actor ****** ********* issued a reminder stating that Nine9 has no involvement with casting for Stranger Things 5, emphasizing that their auditions are followed by solicitations for payments. ? ?Companys Response:In response to allegations, Nine9 has attempted to defend its reputation by showcasing testimonials and success stories on their official website. They position themselves as an unagency, aiming to provide opportunities for the 99% of individuals not represented by traditional agencies. However, these claims are overshadowed by the volume of complaints and negative experiences shared by former clients. ?Conclusion:The evidence suggests that Nine9 operates using methods that many consider unethical, involving upfront fees and potentially misleading recruitment strategies. Prospective talents are advised to exercise caution and thoroughly research any agency before committing financially. Engaging with agencies that adhere to standard industry practiceswhere they earn through commissions on work secured for their talentsis generally recommended.Review fromRobert F

3 starsNine9 should be more upfront at the beginning of their Zoom call to inform all that their services will cost x amount of money so those of us who are broke and looking for a job can bow out at the beginning and not waste our and their time. Or, even in their email that they send out a day prior to the Zoom call. I don't expect organizations like this to not charge for services rendered but for those who are in my and others position, there should be a pay as you work plan.Review fromJane M

1 starI attended a zoom meeting yesterday and today, I requested a refund. The request for a refund was due to the many negative reviews and customer experiences that I read about **********************. After the facilitator went through the program specifics, he then led us to a page to submit information and pay. I did take a snapshot of this page which only mentioned the fee and monthly fee and never anything about not receiving a nonrefundable. The policy information was glossed over pretty quickly. The facilitator never verbally said nor reiterated that the $99 was non- refundable. What I surmise is that you use tactics that take advantage of your customers. The facilitator could have very well mentioned that the $99 was non-refundable. This would have been the right thing to do. We could not read any information much less print the information to read before signing anything. At that point, all was rushed to get our money to receive the I/D and password. You should not be allowed to be able to operate in the unethical manner that you do. I am still requesting a refund. It has not even been 24 hours from the time I was on the zoom call and I never used the service. They need to pull the actual video showing allotted time to read and ask questions regarding the policies etc. This is a rip off and they know it! I see why customers have labeled you as scammers and for sure those people I know whom have asked me about your service - you will certainly not get an approval from me.Review fromMarcus F

1 starThis company is most definitely a scam. On the zoom call they lure you in by telling you there is a 1 time fee of $99.99. They tell you up front that $99.99 is the only fee you have to pay. After a month they have tried to charge my card for a monthly subscription fee of $39.95, which they never mentioned at any point during the call. They reached out to me via email when my payment declined and I explained to them that they were not supposed to be charging me. Their response:Please note that the onboarding fee is a one-time charge. Nine9 operates on a monthly subscription basis, which requires a monthly fee to keep your account active. Please review the enrollment form below for the terms and conditions. You have the option to pause or cancel your subscription at any time and can reactivate it in the future. Are you looking to pause/cancel today? I went to their website and they literally contradict themselves with their own misleading info. It clearly states on the site "For just $99 you can become a Nine9 Talent for Life and pay NO Monthly Membership Fees, ever! You will stll get all the tools, access, castings, resources and more at a discount and without ever having to pay the $39.95 monthly fee!" If this isn't considered a scam I don't know what is, please look through all complaints and reviews and skip over this fraudulent business when considered any type of modeling and acting!!!!!!Review fromRhiannon B

1 starWe attend the Zoom. She made zero mention the monthly charge of $39.99. Thats pretty shystie. And the websites we can pay $149 for a lifetime membership, so why offer $99 pretending like its usually $500 and then not even mention the monthly fee? Thats BAD BUSINESS and prolly why so many folks gave 1 star and said its a scam on Better Business Bureau. Such a shame.Review fromJulie G

This company is praying on young people !$99.00 up front to subscribe. $39.99 each month after and no they dont have to reimburse you for anything. Then if you are lucky enough to get backstage in ********** you have to pay $500.00 and it is not to meet **** ******* ! BBB please ???? protect our children from this evil company ! They know how to talk and prey on young people and lure them into a lie. Thank goodness for BBB !Review fromMitchel M

1 starYou probably saw the ads on Instagram or other social media sites. For the record, it IS a illegitimate business. If you join, they will charge you $99 and $39.99 every month starting in two weeks. The "Open Casting" zoom meeting is a video, it is not a live person. I've watched it twice and it is the same names being read out both times to sound like it's live. There is someone answering the Q&A, and she never reads them out loud to answer them like she said she would. When I asked the "host" to read out the date and time (to verify if she was live on video), I was soon removed from the Zoom session. I was able to join again, only to be booted out once more for asking another "are you live" question. This is definitely a bogus set up to earn money and possibly steal your credit card information. Do your research online, there's reviews everywhere about this company. I doubt that name will be around much longer and they will respawn under a different name.Review fromKaitlyn B

1 starthey marketed an open casting call for Stranger Things. I was interested so I reached out to the company and immediately heard back. I was a little suspicious about their response time. I decided to do a little bit of research. this is a known scam. They market themselves as open casters and then when you get in the zoom call they try to get you to pay $99 to sign up for their agency upon further research. Stranger Things is not casting at all as of September 30, 2024 their text message is an emails come through as spam risk if that means anything, I tried to address these issues with one of the representatives and got no reply.Review fromMegan R

1 starTotal scam. Real talent agents work on commission, they do not charge fees. It's illegal to charge someone to audition or for representation from a talent agency.Review fromPatty M

1 starIt is an hour long webinar, not an Open Call. She never once mentioned the monthly fee of $39.95. This was not for me!
