Disappointed in our recent interaction with Rocket Mortgage. They had us go through the loan process knowing they wouldnt be able to approve our loan for new construction, due to their own internal rule. We got all the way through the process up to getting an appraisal scheduled and then they said they couldnt move forward with it. And then they did not fully refund our good faith deposit in full, they kept over $100 for a credit report fee when I was told the $500 was for an appraisal. We also took a hit to our credit for them running the credit report for a loan they would have never even been able to approve. If we would have been told from the beginning they could t approve our loan type, we wouldnt have wasted our time and now our money.

I would never refer this company to anyone! They were very misleading and doesn't listen to your request or what you are explaining to them that you want to accomplish. Non professional and will rip you off! Will keep good faith deposits even if the error or misunderstanding was on their behalf! Terrible Terrible!!Rocket Mortgage Response

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST , PULLED MY CREDIT WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION , DID A APPRAISAL WITHOUT MY CONSENT AND TRIED TO LIE ABOUT THE PROMISED RATE SAYING THAT IT WILL BE CHANGED ONCE GETS THE APPROVAL ALLLLLL BIG SCAM LIESRocket Mortgage Response

I have made the very very unfortunate choice to look into Rocket mortgage 2 years ago regarding which mortgage company would be best to fund my home buying. I did not go with them because I had the worst rates and the most annoying business tactics, texting and calling me at all hours of the day. 2 years later they continue to call me from different numbers trying to advertise equity opportunities. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had dealing with a lender.First - The appraisal on our home was over 10% below market value and they said because of this they were going to raise our interest rate. When you asked them about other comps in our neighbor hood they said they couldn't use those comps.Second they told us that they were going to pay off our creditors but instead they mailed checks to us with the creditors names on them so we can't put the money in our account and pay our creditors. They didn't bother to get the pay off amounts they just used our credit report so we have no idea if the pay off is accurate.Our loan funded yesterday and we still don't have the checks and we have no idea when we will get the funds, in the mean time we are paying interest on all of our loans with no way to pay them off.Rocket Mortgage Response

Rocket Mortgage sent me a letter saying they could not help me with a loan at this time. I never asked them to help me I never asked them for a loan. So I believe it is a scam and it needs to be investhatedRocket Mortgage Response

I have been dealing with Rocket Mortgage since November 2023 - May 2024. At times the process had to be stalled due to probate issues. Finally all proceedings were resolved and a closing date was scheduled. I just two days ago received a notice on their site I they could not help me with a mortgage. I've gotten homeowners insurance, deeds, paid $500.00 for an appraisal, acquired a closing attorney, submitted existing mortgage payoff, provided financial records,etc. I was told that all docs had to be satisfied by a certain date in order to meet my closing date. Then two weeks prior to the proposed closing date they stopped communicating with me. I received a notification two days ago that they will not be able to complete the loan process. That's it! Without any explanation. This has left me devasted. I've called and left messages but to no reply.Rocket Mortgage Response

I am looking into refinancing my property and jumped online to check what rates might be. RocketMortgage popped up and made it seem easy to get this information. I had to enter phone number, address, etc, knowing that I would be inundated with sales calls the following day. Never got my "rate" question answered from what I entered, so I gave up. Sure enough, I have received 4 calls by noon today from them. I finally answered and after letting them know that I had my own lender and was only trying to find rate information, the sales rep got one of their "experts" on the line with me. I told him again that I was not interested, only looking for rates, and that I had my own mortgage lender that I would be using. He became incredibly rude and condescending at that point and all but hung up on me. How would that type of service EVER make me want to use them or recommend them to anyone in the future? I am a former mortgage lender and this is NOT the way to get business. So poor.Rocket Mortgage Response

This is the worst banking company I have ever delt with. I have provided all the info they want and it's still a run around. I want my money back and they should pay me for the work I have had to do. The appraisal was wrong and the fees that they have charged is outrageous. Don't use this company unless you are bored and want to waste your time and money.Rocket Mortgage Response
