Absolutely ridiculous waste of time and money. Bought the gold plan for a custom $5000 sofa from havertys that was supposed to be performance fabric just on the off chance something happened. Who knew WATER was going to stain my brand new sofa. Water on performance fabric. You read that right. So then I call guardsman and this begins the absolute run around nightmare of getting any sort of help. They send a tech out and whatever they did made it worse. Now theyre ghosting me and refuse to call except within a small window of time when I am working.Review from Carol K

They deny claims that should be covered! They make everything extremely difficult and I can't reach anyone or find my original policy. When I called customer service they wouldn't even tell me what was covered by my specific plan. I specifically bought it because I have 4 pets and now they won't cover the damage that should be covered. Big waste of money! If a zero rating was an option I'd select that.Review from James T

Would give a zero rating if possible. This is a typical warranty company that will do anything to avoid approving a claim. Purchased a 5-year contract through ********* furniture to cover my recliners. Had a motor in recliner quit. Submitted a claim on 5/14/2024. Had not heard from them for 2-weeks so I called and was told they were too busy to process my claim right now and would soon. Now on 7//12/24, still have not heard from them so called. They claim they already replaced one motor in 2022 and needed to know which recliner wasnt working. First, they have never replaced a motor. second, it should not matter which motor, the warranty is still good and a motor wont work so should be covered. She talked to management and told me that they sent an email to verify my claim on May 29th and I had 10 days to replay and if I didnt, they would close the claim. I never received an email as if they actually sent one, it may have been diverted into my spam folder. She said that since I did not respond, my claim was closed and I could not resubmit and my claim would not be covered since I submitted one claim already. Total B.S. I still have a recliner that does not work and apparently Guardsman is not going to honor their coverage because I did not reply to an email I never saw. I asked her how she could say I didnt reply when she couldnt provide proof of sending it nor did I ever see it. This fight is not over!Review from Amanda H

Business scam. I submitted photos and a description of my broken dresser for an estimate to be repaired. They sent back a financial estimate and scheduled a time for a technician to come out to preform repairs. They have a disclaimer/agreement that if the technician needs to come back a second time to finish repairs there will be a $65 charge for returning to the site, but if the repairs were completed the first visit it would be waived. The technician reviewed photos I sent to him, came out with NO equipment, took a photo of my dresser and told me it could not be repaired. They charged me $70 for nothing. This was a scam to get money as the estimate and description stated they would do work during the visit. He did not attempt to fix anything and was there less than 2 minutes. Another company fixed my dresser with no issues in about an hour for half the cost of the estimate. Judging by other reviews this is a common tactic to get people's money and view their homes to do zero work. Needs to be shut down.Review from Joyce E

Guardsmen said they cannot fix my table and chairs. I still have 2 years of protection. They said they cannot fix several scratches. The pictures I send were different from the first time when I made a claim. They responded by mail that they were the same pictures as before. After I call them, they looked at the pictures again and agreed they where different. That did change the situations. I will never buy another policy from them and will discourage my design clients as well. Its not worth the money if they dont at least try to honor the policy.Review from Mena A

I brought an outdoor furniture set this is the 2nd summer that we would be using it. The table is clearly damaged. The will not fix or replace it. I have reached out to the many times . This is point I will reach out to Channel 2 News and see if they can fix this problem.Review from Elizabeth P

I would leave a zero star if I could. I bought this protection plan through *****, which is very well-built, heavy & long lasting furniture. I know this from experience. I filed a claim for an ink spot from a 1 year old and two cushions which had clothing dye that had rubbed off from people’s new jeans /and or clothes. They came back saying that via the pictures, the leather was cracking and peeling on my couch and they didn’t cover that. My leather doesn’t have one crack in it and it hasn’t peeled in one spot. I explained this to them via phone, when I got back claim. I had asked, when they come to get the Ink spot out maybe they can look at it to see what I’m saying and try to get the dye out. They said no, that they are only going to try to get the ink out because their policy didn’t cover the other. (Which isn’t what they say it is, anyway) So basically, I spent almost $800, in total for coverage that was almost useless. I guess I need to be ok with them trying to get the ink out? I will never buy another policy from them and will discourage my design clients as well. It’s not worth the money if they don’t at least try to honor the policyReview from Christine W

I bought a Gold Complete Plus extended warranty, cost $189.00 on a Lazy Boy power recliner I bought from ***** Oh 44667. It quit working I had **** pick it up, then I filed a claim with Guardsman. After two weeks it was fixed but I had not heard anything from Guardsman so I paid **** $150 to get my recliner back. I sent Guardsman 4 emails and after 5 weeks of no response I called them only to have them tell me, because I paid **** myself it had voided my warranty and they would not pay me one red cent. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!
