***** performed diagnostic tests on our Carrier Infinity HVAC system to determine why we were experiencing problems with our low-medium-high speed furnace fan settings. He methodically checked everything, very professional, we were impressed. We went through a reset, everything is performing properly, and the furnace fan speeds are functioning now. We highly recommend , and***** GRapids services. Prompt and professional.

Do NOT use this company. My furnace was working intermittently so needed service. I had never used Grapids before but they kept coming up on my internet feed. A serviceman came out right away and proceeded to inspect my furnace. They came back with a quote for 2 different actions - either to fix just to get by for a few months or replace many parts. The cost to fix "many parts" was just under $4,000. The rep showed me photos of a ton of rusted parts in my furnace and he also told me I need to replace my water heater and air conditioner. The rep recommended another person come out to quote a "multiple appliance discount" and, due to the fact that my furnace was about 10 years old and "they only last about 12 years," he scheduled a rep to come out and quote a full furnace replacement. I had an odd feeling in my gut when the rep started measuring my outside windows so did a quick search of reviews. As many reviews indicated, the rep sat down with me to go over my quote for a new furnace, new water heater, and new air conditioner. Cost was roughly $14,000. He wanted to find me a better price so called his boss and was able to move the price to $11,000. He pushed to have me sign and schedule the work but I told him I wouldn't at that time. The next day I had another company come out to check. The cost of the fix was under $200 which included the service call fee. I asked this repairman about rust and the condition of the water heater. No rust and my water heater would last for a few more years. My furnace is estimated to last about another 10 years.I suggest you go elsewhere and tell this company to do better. It is disgusting what they presented to me.

I was charged 100$ to have a “tech” come out to repair my furnace. I was given a quote of 3,000 and had them pushing me to buy a new furnace. I called another company and it was only the fuses were pushed out after a power outage. What a sham! They charged me money and didn’t provide any service and worse yet tried to make me buy a new one! Scam!! Stay away. Thankfully the 2nd company was honest and they only charge 75$ and actually fixed it in less than 5 minutes.

My 13 Lennox year furnace was acting up and would randomly stop working and so would the thermostat, of course it was very cold out so no heat was a problem. I called Grapids through a recommendation. They came out within a few hours, said it was only $97 to diagnose any issues. All sounded great. The tech got there and he was super great at explaining everything, I was actually impressed. Unfortunately he starts showing me all these issues and says he's going to recommend a new furnace. Says the control panel is shot, the blower is dirty and the voltage is all over the place. He uses the example of all the weird codes the furnace is showing to prove the board is shot. Says it's about $1000 to fix and might not even work, control panels are tricky. Everything he's saying makes sense. The he says, we have a BOGO on an air conditioning also, overwhelming but my a/c had broken the year before. So I think well we can do them both at the same time. The he mentioned how old my water heater was, seemed weird but I said my husband put it in and it didn't need to be replaced. He gets me to sign up for their $15 a month service program because then the visit is only $15 and I'll get a discount on the new furnace. I'm completely overwhelmed so I'm agreeing to an appointment to get prices. He leaves and I decide to get another company to come in and look at the furnace before we go along with replacement. This guy was a small family business and he figured out the problem in about 5 minutes. The furnace wasn't grounded and never had been from original install which could cause weird issues. And that the exhaust fan was probably going, cost about $50 to get a new one online. He grounds the furnace and it's working perfectly. I would never use this company, they use predatory sales tactics to scare people. The tech had me convinced my furnace was way past the date of being worth putting any money into. I paid $100 for a honest business and they fixed it! 0 stars if I could!

I believe they are running a scam. The 1st thing I recommended to the furnace guy named Seth was that he replace the ignitor because that had always been the issue in the past. he said it would cost $300 and would be a waste of money because the whole furnace needed to be replaced for $15,000. when we said no, he then quoted us a price of over $7,000 and said he wasn't making any money and had his boss on speaker phone to validate what he was saying. Long story short we ended up calling somebody else and they fixed the exact problem we thought it was which was the ignitor. They were done in a few minutes and charged us under $200 and one furnace guy knew the name of the company that we told him that tried to rip us off without us even saying the name of the company, all we told him was what happened. so they have done this many times before. I called the company and demanded an explanation and a lady named Stephanie said I would receive an apology but I never did. we have our 2 and 4 year old grandchildren here and we froze on the coldest day of this year when all he had to do was replace the ignitor but instead he acted like we needed the whole furnace replaced plus electrical work and he tried to scare us by saying we could possibly have carbon monoxide poisioning if we don't get the furnace replaced. I'm very angry and disappointed by the lack of integrity that this company has and something needs to be done about them. I have the receipt with the quote on it and one price has the furnace listed at over $12,000. A new furnace is probably $4000 to $5000 at the most. So this company definetly needs somebody to look into them asap!!!

Grapids came to my mother's condo on a no-heat service call on October 19, 2023. Once he found out the heat exchanger had been replaced by another company, he proceeded to check out that. He showed my niece pictures of a heat exchanger that showed it was ***** and cracked. The date stamp on the pictures he was showing her was 2023-05-21 22:47. In his quote he stated that the heat exchanger that was installed was either used or that it hadn't been switched out at all. That the left cell was burnt and causing air pressure to get back up into the flame. He gave my 81-year-old mother a quote for $986 to replace the heat exchanger. Since heat exchangers have a 20 year warranty and my mom's furnace is only 3 years old, the company that replaced it didn't have to pay for the heat exchanger. There would be absolutely no reason for them to install a used one or not replace it. Especially when they only charged her for labor and the labor was covered if the new one failed. Additionally, my husband had been there when the heat exchanger was replaced. He saw it come out of the box brand new and installed. He also saw the defective one removed and hauled away. I called the company that installed the heat exchanger to tell them what Grapids said, and they came out right away to check it. They showed us videos showing that there is no rust and no cracks. They checked everything over and charged us nothing for the call. When I called Grapids to tell them what happened, they stood by their tech's statements. They wanted to come to my mom's condo, pull the heat exchanger out and show us that it was bad. Why they thought I would consent to having a brand new heat exchanger removed is beyond me.

Grapids uses "free" furnace inspection prizes at trade shows, etc, to come to your home and scare homeowners into unnecessary, expensive repairs/installation. My quote of $4,000 maintenance on my existing furnace in order to "keep us safe" was a blatant setup for us to schedule a quote for a new furnace. My second opinion company says this unit is in excellent shape and will last many more years. Grapids exists to sell you unnecessary and costly parts and labor, so please be wary.

BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM I had a very similar situation as customer below, *****. There was an ad for $29.00 AC tune up. I have not had any previous problems with my 12 year old furnace or AC unit. When the technician arrived he went right to my furnace and started taking it apart. I asked if this was necessary and he replied that they check everything. For $29? He said yes. It wasn't long after he the furnace apart and said he had to turn off my gas because my heat exchanger was cracked and that can lead to carbon monoxide leak. He showed me photos of where the crack and rust was inside the furnace. He then said he couldn't service my AC unit because he would have to turn the heat back on to get the house hot enough for the AC to turn on. He got out the paper work to show me how much a new heat exchanger would cost, but also recommended I just get a whole new system since this was one was so old at almost 13 years. I wrote him a check for the tune up - which never happened, and politely showed him the door. Part 2 - I called Westshore for a second opinion: "Looked over furnace, homeowner had a picture of what the previous contractor center it was a crack and a heat exchanger. I did some inspections on the heat exchanger and nothing inside that heat exchanger looked like that picture so I am speculating that the previous contractor sent her a picture of a bad heat exchanger, but it was not hers." So there you have it. FAKE PHOTOS of a heat exchanger! Westshore mentioned that even if my heat exchanger was bad, they generally have a 20 year warranty. WHAT?? Grapids never mentioned that. Sure enough, mine has a 20 year warranty. I'm out the $250.00 that I had to pay for a second opinion, and the $29.00 for the tune up that never happened - but thankful I didn't fall for this scam and out what could have been $12,000. Common Law Fraud in place to prevent this from continuing to happen to people. Until then - BEWARE

Thank **** for your honest feedback! Here at Grapids we strive for a five-star service and stand behind all of our work. On your file we have pictures of your heat exchanger with very clear cracks. When we find a unit with cracks in it we are required to shut the unit off for the safety of our technicians and our clients. We would be more than happy to send a senior technician out to pull the heat exchanger out of your unit to verify with you the cracks we found. If we were wrong and there is no crack in your heat exchanger we will replace your unit for free. If this is something you would like to do please call our office at (616)-453-1137 and ask to speak with one of our service managers.

I "won" a free inspection of my furnace and so they sent out a technician who "found" a crack in the heat exchanger. He showed me a picture which turned out to be from someone else's furnace. I was told my furnace had to be condemned and they sent out a "comfort consultant" who measured my whole house, fed us a one about how dangerous our current furnace was, and then tried to sell us a new unit for over $22,000. Soon as I didn't bite, the salesman packed up and left in less than 2 minutes... never seen someone more so fast!Called a local company to have them inspect my same furnace on the same day. Found no crack and no evidence of anything wrong. I decided to replace my 20 year old unit anyway (for about $4000), took it apart and, low and behold... no crack or evidence of any damage whatsoever. This company is as shady as it comes. Talked to the "head service manager" who didn't listen and defended their clearly wrong assessment as well as their ridiculously overpriced offer.I wouldn't recommend them to anyone... ever...
