Imagine my shock when the bill I received from the Corewell Family Health practice was $2,542.00. for one visit! They are now adding a "facility fee" of $2,010.00 because using their physicians - in a building ACROSS from the hospital is now considered "to be the same as if you were admitted to the hospital". So not only was I charged a $532.00 for the "specialist", but over two thousand dollars for rent! When I called customer service for billing, I was told this will be charged for each visit, and going over their head wouldn't change this situation.. I cannot believe a hospital system is gouging our insurances this way! My doctor and the office manager are upset as well, as patients - particularly seniors - may opt out of quality of life care, or even life and death care. I will be reporting this to the State. Corewell is ****** the insurance companies.

lu words minimum Everything went well with my MRI the other day at Corewell in Taylor, Michigan. But I was not offered a blanket before going into the MRI machine, and I forgot to ask for one. The MRI bed was warm, but the front part of my body was cold. They told me to sit up for a while and to take my time before getting up. But then I felt rushed cuz the technician was getting my shoes. Then I was still a little dizzy and the technician just walked me halfway down the hall. Also, the bathroom situation is ridiculous! There is someone always in the bathroom. Then when I tried to use the one around the corner, someone was in that one, and the one next to it was messed up. When I went back to the bathroom closet to the waiting room, someone was in there too! I almost peed on myself trying to get to the bathroom! There should be multiple bathrooms in the places where the bathrooms are!

They code appointments wrong and will not change them even after review. They are impossible to get ahold of. I was sent to collections while trying to fight for an amount that was more than my bill should have been.

Corewell likes to charge copays when your deductibles are met. Mystery is on Sept 19th Ill be going into their office for a shot that I have to receive since Im a Stage 4 cancer patient. Then on October 17th Ill be going back for the the same thing and on that day they have decided they dont want $120.00. Youre fraudulently charging patients for copays when they know they are not due. Its unethical and seems no one wants to fix the issue so we can move on from it. Mystery no one knows who is in charge of this and who isnt.

I was told twice my insurance covered the visit- both over the phone and in the office before my visit. I would not have pursued genetic testing for a non-life-threatening condition I was experiencing otherwise. 6 months later, I received a surprising bill for over $800. I called and got the run-around from the billing department for 2-3 months. My bill mysteriously increased to over $1200 with no explanation. I finally got through to ***** at customer service- he was amazing and fought to resolve the issue. In the end, however, all the hospital was willing to do was reduce my bill by 25%- ironically, back to the $830 I originally owed. Interestingly, this happened after Corewell took over. I do not recommend it.

""No matter what you’re facing. No matter what the challenge is. No matter how impossible it may seem. Our response is always the same: We can." No. You. Can't. I have had some of the worst experiences since your "merger" with Beaumont and it doesn't seem as if things are changing for the better. Excessive wait times in the offices, really poor communication from a recovery nurse at Troy Beaumont, terrible service from office staff at Comprehensive Urology as well as similar complaints from a friend trying to get an appointment with a cardiologist. These are not insurance complaints but a systemic failure as an organization. After 45 years as a loyal Beaumont patient I am looking towards **** *** and ***.

The billing department refuses to bill my primary health insurance carrier then auto secondary. Corewell Health gave me 10 days to provide my info or would charge me but the hospital took and copied my cards which is crazy that I am now being harassed to provide the information again. All of the agents have been rude, unprofessional and uncooperative. The last CSR ******* kept muting the phone and was in total silence during our call and I had to keep saying hello. Terrible, terrible experiences!

Received a bill from a block of services 06/01 through 06/30/2023 dated 07/24/2023 for my child who was receiving physical therapy for $183.28. Procrastinated and attempted to pay the bill October 25, 2023. Had an issue with my HSA/FSA card and was not able to make the full payment. I did however make a partial payment in the amount of $33.39. The remaining balance was $149.89. Received collection notice dated 11/27/2023 from United Collection Bureau Inc in the amount of $149.89. Contacted them and confirmed that this was a bill from Beaumont now Corewell Health. Contacted support through MyChart and was advised that there was no balance with beaumont and no record of collection. This response was 72 hours after initial contact. 12/12/2023 Contacted UCB, confirmed the balance. Contacted Beaumont customer service via phone and initially told that I had no balance. Then I advised that I have a bill with the collection agency. Was told that if it is in collections there is nothing they can do. Finally I was advised that I have to wait 7-14 business days for a manager to contact me. This was due to my account being sent to collections because even though I was making payments their was no payment agreement established. I would pay the collection agency in order to resolve this manner but feel it ethical to have to pay 3.5% fee on my health savings card and have negative reporting on my credit bureau when I was willing to pay but had a card issue. This matter can be resolved and the balance paid as they were for services received. Corewell Health should review their billing practices and they may be able to save business from being lost and negative reviews.
