Irish began the work on my home on July 21, 2023 and finished on July 27, 2023. Before they left, a representative did a walk around and pointed out problems that he noticed, made notes, and told me the issues would be fixed. After two weeks, I called them, which is when they told me they had no record and would send someone out which happened within a few days. Two weeks later, they had a sub contractor come fix all my of window weep-holes that they had covered when replacing the siding of my house. He stated that it was going to be a patch job due to not having the proper materials, but he would do his best to make it look as okay as he possibly could. After he was completed with the repair, he pointed out multiple other problems that he noticed while he was working. I contacted Irish the following week listing all the other issues found, along with the previous ones found by their inspector, to find a resolution or schedule a repair. They told me they will send someone out to fix my window. After a month with no contact, I called and finally got a contractor out to measure my window; it has now been over a month again with no contact. The other issues still havent been addressed. The following issues have yet to be rectified by Irish despite multiple attempts to contact and bring it to their attention:1. Broken window frame (still awaiting repair). 2. Lack of seals around electrical and pipes. 3. Used scrap siding on front of house; visibly not flush or aligned.4. Aluminum wrapped fascia not connected properly in multiple locations; misaligned.5. Aluminum wrapped fascia cut into to make room for J-channel.6. OSB visible from driveway.7. J-channels are misaligned. Along with the unresolved issues, Irish has still not rectified compensation for the repair that was needed after AC electrical wiring was damaged during siding removal and subsequent AC repair.

I feel truly awful about my new ************** that were VERY poorly installed June/July by Irish Roofing & Exteriors ************. Irish botched big time, damaged existing siding+facia too, wasting everyones time and money. Regrettably, I paid the same day that I was invoiced. COO *****/***** kept all my money but failed to perform.Do I have a difficult roof? Nope. I wouldnt say any roofing job is easyroofing is hard work. "straight-forward 5/12 slope, 35+ square, 1-story 1-layer tear-off per Montell.Irish knew/took photos (6/26, 7/26, 8/2 re-inspection, 9/22/2023 re-re-inspection), but then nothing happens, empty promises ("try caulk/swap 60+ shingles out?"), not a real solution, cant be fixed/patched. Irish is adept at getting online reviews flagged/taken down too. Irish Roofing has spoken with **************** on multiple occasions regarding alleged issues with his roof and gutters installed in June 2023.  Unfortunately, after speaking with ****************, Irish has come to the conclusion that the ask and ethics of Mr. ******* demands are not something that Irish can or will agree to.  As of the date of this response, there is an inspection scheduled with the manufacturer.  After that inspection, Irish will either a) do what is recommended by the manufacturer, or b) if Irish continues to disagree with demands made by ****************, Irish looks forward to defending itself and the work it has performed and pursuing **************** for the amounts that remain unpaid.

      Complaint: 20851489

I am rejecting this response because:

Irish and I are both waiting for a reply from Certainteed at this point.

The leaking new roof is 100% paid for (see attached invoice and cashed check for $20,061 dated 6/21), but this roof is awful with hundreds of mistakes per other roofers. Yes, I was forced to involve the shingle maker (Certainteed/************), which a customer should not have to do, but necessary due to the systemic lack of follow-through by Irish.

Irish seemed afraid, months ago, of having the shingle manufacturer, Certainteed / ************* look over their botched craftsmanship, when I asked ***** to involve Certainteed, please. Realize that *********** wont even engage unless first THE CUSTOMER HAS ALREADY PAID IN-FULL: yep. ****************** refused to call manufacturer AND also refused to provide me with a contact at Certainteed (see emails).  Now, I have had to do Irishs job and have an inspection.

*To that end, dear BBB, I think we need more time.  Since we have not yet heard back from the shingle manufacturer, Certainteed / ************* there remains a need for additional time before any action should be taken to wrap up this BBB complaint. The manufacturer inspected on 11/22. I hope everyone had a decent Thanksgiving holiday in the meantime.

*Has Irish heard from Certainteed since?

I am pleasantly surprised that Irish gave a 11/17 reply, given their previous lack of timely communication. I received notice just today 11/28 from the BBB saying I can now answer, so here is my same-day response:

Irish may be attempting to paint me in a bad light writing "ask and ethics.":

      1. The ask is a written quote (previously attached), and its their fault: I am forced by Irish to ask for my money back and more to have the roof and Irish's physical damage redone by Somebody, since Irish is refusing to redo it themselves.

      2. The ethics are this: Irish cant keep my roof money (100% paid in-full, see attached) AND yet also fail to properly install a new roof; now thats unethical.  Whats up?

In October ************** (Irishs principal per BBB) called, just once, and said he didnt want to re-do all the mistakes; thats NOT okay.  Irish already previously agreed to re-do their awful gutters, but then ***** got stuck on the minutia and he stalled out October 2.

If ***** has changed his mind again, I still remain willing for the project to be (re)done correctly.

When I read Irish looks forward to defending itself and the work it has performed and pursuingfor the amounts that remain unpaid I see Irish ethics in practice. Irish admits their bad gutter install was unacceptable. Breach of contract.  FYI the gutters are the last ~5% of the total project cost. Of course these BAD gutters remain unpaid because, as agreed, Irishs gutter installation was a total failowner ***** even called gutters pretty bad.  What amounts that remain unpaid that are collectible at this time?  NONE.

BBB, like Irish said in their 11/17 response, I also want to say again that we need more time to allow the manufacturer, Certainteed shingles, to get us their results.  Please stay tuned...

      Sincerely,

      *************************

As stated in its previous response, Irish disagrees with demands made by **************** regarding the replacement of his roof.  The shingle manufacturer has not returned a report following ************** of Mr. ******* roof.  Irish is confident the report will find that Mr. ******* roof meets manufacturer specifications and is covered by the manufacturers warranty.  If there any issues are identified, Irish is willing to address them provided Mr. ******* demands meet the manufacturers recommendations.  Irishs previous response remains unchanged.  If Irish disagrees with demands made by ****************, Irish will defend itself and pursue amounts owed for unpaid work performed.

Irish roofing was contracted by my neighbors to put on a new roof. My neighbors were at work when the work crew arrived and set up all their equipment in my front yard. I went out and asked what was happening and they said, "We thought this was the same property" I told them it wasn't but they were all set up so (like a fool) I didn't make them move everything off my yard. They proceeded to throw shingles, etc. off the roof next door and they were raining down into my yard as well. The next time I went out they had moved a large trailer into my side yard. I told them that the ground was saturated from recent rains and that it couldn't support the trailer and would ruin the grass. I was told that it was specially designed not to cause harm and would be ok. I was skeptical but the mess was already there. When they tried to remove the trailer it gouged 8 inch deep holes in my yard and ruined large patches of the grass. The ******* of the crew said that he would fill it in and fix the grass and as a way of making up for the inconvenience and damage he would come back and fix a gutter on my house that he noticed was missing a nail. This was in March and I am still waiting. A half hearted attempt was made to fill in the hole and some grass seed was thrown down but it still isn't right and repeated calls to the Irish roofing have been ignored. It is clear that they never had any intention of making this right. They left roofing nails and trash all over my yard and left a female senior citizen to deal with their mess.
