Good morning, My name is *** ****** and I live in ************. Recently my wife took her car to the Performance Plus garage. The technician inadvertently removed the transmission oil instead of the engine oil then filled the engine oil causing it to be double filled. My wife then left the garage with no oil in her transmission and double engine oil. The car was driven, of course, not realizing this. I checked the car later that afternoon and drove it, which was not driving correctly, and also found the double filled engine oil. I took the car back to have the problem rectified. The service manager then told me what had happened and they would correct their mistake and cover any problems that my arise. The next day my wife was on her way to work when the car broke down between ********* and ********, she was stranded. The car was towed to the ****** dealership in *************. The Car is a 2020 Forester with approximately ****** miles on it. It was determined by the master technician that the wrong transmission oil was used and it was also overfilled. They corrected what had been done. On her way home the car again broke down and had to be towed back to the dealership in *************. After checking the car it was determined by the master technician and the service manager that the car would have to have a new transmission. The power train currently has ****** miles left on the warranty. After working with corporate employees it was determined that a used transmission would be installed on our car, voiding any warranty mileage left on it. This is not satisfactory to me. A used transmission would reduce the value of our vehicle and would also not be eligible to purchase an extended warranty not to mention the fact we would be loosing ****** of factory warranty millage. I feel like we lose in this situation that was caused by an under trained staff at the ********* location. Corporate officials did state that they would be reimbursing for both the towing bills and the garage time at the ****** dealership in ******************.
