I am rejecting this response because:Even in the response the completely ignored the facts. Also lying about profanity. There was no profanity. I have screenshot of every comment That was posted. I only posted facts and medical proof!!! Facts are I was ruched to the hospital in Respatory failure!! I was transfered from *********************** to ******* Kalamazoo and told I was in critical condition and the could not provide the life saving care I needed. I was told in kalamazoo That I have sepsis, that my organs are shutting down, I have pneumonia in my right lung and starting un my left. I also was informed that I had a plutal effusion. Treatment requited six antibiotics, a drain tube placed in my side for weeks, iv, and continuous oxygen. I was unable to make a loan payment and I was on so many pain medications I don't even hardly remember the hospital stay. Consumers completely dismissed me closed my account and sent me to collections, after I told them what happened. They have no respect for their members proof is in their blanket response above. My demands have not changed. A complInt has also been filed with the state of Michigan. If my demands are not met I will have no option but to file a suit against consumers as a whole as well as each individual involved in my communications and my account closure.
Sincerely,
***** BaziInitial Complaint

I visited this branch to close my account due to opening a joint account with my husband after marriage at a different bank. I was told the account was closed, but apparently it wasnt because somehow there were charges made to the account which had no money in it, which also created fees. I dont even know what these charges are or if they belong to me which is extremely concerning. I feel like I may have been scammed with these mystery charges that were not authorized. The issue is there is usually only 1 person in the establishment assisting customers which Im sure allowed for the disorganization.Business Response

Consumers Credit Union has repossessed my fiances vehicle claiming that it was 87 days past due. When we called to make the payment in full, they told us there was a reposession order on it and that we had 2 weeks to pay it in full or refinance it.My fianc is a Disabled Veteran, on a fixed income and only has the car to get to and from his appointments. They gave us less than 24 hours notice before the repo guy was at our house, hooking the truck up to the tow truck. We have made payments to try to keep us afloat. They stated that because we missed a payment in February, and made partial payments in June and July ($304 compared to $390) that we were 87 days behind and they wouldn't let us pay up to date. There was no option. When they were told that he was a disabled veteran, I was told, there is nothing they can do. They wouldn't accept any form of payment besides the roughly $9k to pay it in full, which on his fixed income, he cannot afford to do. The way they have treated him, as a degenerate, who didn't fight for this country, is absolutely not ok. The fact that they wouldn't even let us make a payment to bring it current, is down right ridiculous.Business Response

This complaint has been reviewed in detail, and it was determined that the servicing of this loan has been appropriate. The credit union maintains its current position regarding this loan. Once a loan becomes delinquent by several payments, repossession of the collateral is necessary and the options to resolve the default become limited. The credit union provides regular communication through various channels once a loan falls past due and thereafter. Arrangements for payment should be made prior to the loan becoming seriously delinquent or in default.Initial Complaint

After going through a divorce and drastic job change, I worked closely with their collections **** and was upfront that I was not able to make payments from Sept 2023 through Dec 2023. I told them I would become current by the end of Jan 2024 for my credit card. Upon becoming current, they more than doubled my credit rate even though I always stayed in touch keeping them updated on my situation. Getting out of debt just got harder, especially with 23k credit card bill at nearly 30% interest.Business Response

When the minimum payment due is not fully satisfied a higher rate (although this is significantly lower than what is referenced in the members concern) is put in place as an offset to the risk to the Credit Union. That rate remains in place until the account is current and six consecutive on time payments are received. Upon a review of our records, we found that our member has completed the required number of on-time payments, and the account is scheduled to revert back to members everyday rate at the end of this statement cycle. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the matter further if the member would like to review other options. Sincerely, Consumers Credit Union.Customer Answer

The incident on June 28th, 2024 at ******************** *********************************************************************** involving the branch manager and teller older age teller during my attempt to open a business account was highly unprofessional and frustrating. The tellers lack of knowledge on how to open a business account led to confusion and delays. Her continuous back-and-forth consultations with the manager without progress added to my inconvenience. When the branch manager finally intervened, his explanation regarding the inability to open the account due to the *** name discrepancy was not only incorrect but also displayed a lack of understanding of basic business registration concepts. The insistence that an *** cannot operate under its legal name using DBA was misleading and showcased a significant gap in knowledge of business structures. The branch manager continued to provide false information, stating that he had been in business for 20 years and implying that he knew better. He even went so far as to say that if I brought in a check with the **** he would not honor it. This condescending attitude and refusal to accept correction added to the frustration and mistrust. The branch managers insistence on the assumed name document being a requirement was actually a bank requirement, not a state requirement. **** doesn't allow individuals to use a business name that is already taken. **** doesn't require a business to file an assumed name form 541 when using DBA add to an ***. It is not a state of Michigan requirement. This lack of understanding on the branch manger and older teller led to a breakdown in communication. the branch manager came off as sexist. Overall, this experience at Consumers Credit Union was disappointing, as it highlighted incompetence, misinformation, and poor customer service from both the teller and branch manager. They need to be retrained and make sure they provide correct info before denying a customer from opening an account.Business Response

Despite my repeated attempts to engage with CCU, I have been met with silence for over 50 days. after sending them legal notarized documents and affidavits. This disregard for communication represents a flagrant violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act for response (FCRA) 15 USC 1681n, which mandates timely responses to consumer inquiries. CCU's failure to validate the debt within the specified timeframe and their continued reporting of inaccurate information to Experian and equifax exacerbate my financial and emotional distress. While TransUnion has acknowledged and removed the disputed information from my credit report, Experian persists in reporting the account as "Verified and Updated," despite my provision of certified legal documents and affidavits to CCU. This inconsistency in reporting further compromises my financial standing and has dire consequences for my efforts to rebuild my life.I dispatched a certified letter to CCU on February 22, 11:20 AM, with tracking number: 9589 0710 5270 1402 6384 76. This letter was received at their headquarters in *********, **, as confirmed by the returned green receipt with number **********************, delivered to me on March 1, 2024.Under the ***** I am entitled to monetary compensation for CCU's willful violations. As stated in 15 USC 1681n, I demand appropriate compensation for the damages incurred, which can be not less than $100 and not more than $1,000, or greater if determined by the severity of the violations. As per 15 USC 1602(g) and 15 USC 1602(l), I supplied the credit card and participated in the decision to extend credit, thereby questioning my indebtedness. How can I owe on something when I provided the credit card, i.e., my social security number?Ccu has failed to respond. they failed to supply me a 1099-C after i requested over a year ago of the charged off debt, they failed to return any wet inked contract between us. i've been homeless over the past two years and unable to get any loans.Business Response

I deposited 2000 cash into their atm on gullroad. It spit back out 500 for some reason and I was in a rush and because the first atm wasn't working correctly I just was frusted and didn't read exactly what the machine said. I saw 500 and I hit yea because it had just spit 500 back out to md....I called right after I left. After 5 days I called and the guy I spoke with said he had tried calling once the day before. He said he had to contact the company that owns the machine and he'd get back to me. Another 5 days passes and he tells me they won't be crediting me because the evidence doesn't show the money. I ask to see said evidence and he calls Me a liar. This bank has no customer service and shouldn't be allowed to steal people's money and provide no proof that I didn't deposit what I in fact did.Business Response

On September 25th of 2023 I caught a bunch of fraudulent charges that were made to my debit card. I immediately went to the credit union and told them what happened. They shredded my debit card and issued a new one. I had thought that a dispute was put in for the fraudulent charges. It happened again in early October and they have the dispute for that one. I thought that all the charges were put in the same dispute. Apparently, only the later charges were disputed and now I am told the matter is closed. In my member handbook it states that I am only liable for 50 dollars of fraudulent charges. There were 2700 dollars charged to my account along with multiple overdraft charges. Totalling almost 3000 dollars, I have been credited 1200 and am told they will no longer help me.Business Response
