08.21.21 Superior transported my daughter from St. Mary's ******** in ******* to ******************** in *************, **. They charged $3160.00 for this transfer. I was NOT given a choice as to what ambulance transported my daughter and due to the mental health crisis we had to allow for transport by ambulance only to the hospital. They billed my insurance and United Healthcare paid $1307.89 and because they are not "on contract" with my insurance company they in turn billed us for the remaining $$1852.11. Due to the absolute crisis my daughter was in the only mode of transport for her was ambulance. It is obscene to be billed $1600.00 for the transport and $1560 for the mileage. $28.36 per mile is a GROSS INFLATION of their substandard service that was 100% REQUIRED FOR A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS. Their customer ********************** was snarky and spiteful. data isight has been contacted as well from my EOB to help get resolve. Ideally I would like to see this service put out of business but that won't happen. Whatever remedy can be offered including wiping out the balance SHOULD be done. A one hour trip did not cost $3160.00. That covered the transport personnel's wages, gas for the ambulance and mileage at a GROSS rate. When the *** rate for 2021 was "16 cents per mile driven for medical" ******% increase of the standard federal rate.
