    ?I hired Daylight Roofing & Solar LLC (DRS) to repair a roof. 1. Signed a contract for a roof repair for section of roof leaking from failed EDPM material in ***********, ******** in July of 2023 and paid a 10k deposit, scheduled late Sept. 2. I came back from ********** in September and contacted Daylight Roofing as the end of September but ******************************* said he had not heard from me. I expected them to contact me. ****** says October. No show. I call and ****** says November. No show. At this point, I ask him to tarp the area. He agrees. No show. I contact him in April 2024 and there is no communication back. 3. I file a LARA ********* and find out his license expired in 2020. **** gives the Michigan ************************ my claim and supporting documents. Special Agent ***************************** from Michigan ************************ contacted me and told me file a police report as my case constitutes a Larceny by Conversion. ******* is forwarding a report for Criminal *********************** (CID).     I signed a contract **** with Daylight Roofing to do siding on my Uncle's Cottage in November 2023 and gave him a deposit with the promise that the job would be done in the spring. I spent all of April trying to get a hold of him with no luck. I sent a couple of employees to his house and he told them that he was going to do the job. He has disconnected his phone. The second time the employees went to his home he wasn't there, so we left a note to contact me about the job, but no reply. Do not do business with this company, **** is a scammer.

    *********************************************************************************************** 1. The shingles do not extend past the drip edge at least two places.2. There is flashing missing in three corners where the main roofline meets the side roofs. 3. A wood piece is missing in two places (so no flashing either)where the main roof meets the side roofs. It should have been replaced. They should have notified us per the inspector.4. You can see daylight several places where roof meets wall and above the metal flashing that they did not replace. It probably needs to be caulked from outside. 5. The flat roofs were done wrong. Inspector did not say what was the right way. He thinks there might not be ice guards installed.6. Close *** of the chimney flashing.WE PAID DAYLIGHT ROOFING AND THEY PROMISED TO FIX THE PROBLEMS AFTER WE LEFT THE ******** SUMMER COTTAGE Labor Day WEEK, 2022. WE ARRIVED IN JUNE 2023 AND THE REPAIRS HAD NOT BEEN DONE. THEY PROMISE TO COME BUT NEVER HAVE. WE ARE LEAVING NOW AT END OF 2ND SUMMER. WE HAVE NOTIFIED THE Antrim County INSPECTOR AND FIND DAYLIGHT ROOFING DIDN'T GET A PERMIT.

    no answer, now regarding when refund. never given receipt for $3,000 deposit. Initial estimate sent me signed (July 10th). I told him before signing that I needed to get approval from the bank to get a loan before we could start. He had suggested I could finance through them, which i was a little wary of doing. I also said i might be able to borrow from family in the meantime.July 14 He inquired how things were going. I told him i was still waiting.July 18 I told him i was still waiting on the bank. I asked for a receipt for my deposit. He didnt respond.July 20 I told him i was conditionally approved and waiting for an appraisal.(July 28 i was approved by bank)Aug 9 He inquired if we were still on track. I told him the funds would be available Friday, but that my income had been cut by quite a bit so i had to think over what i wanted done, what i could afford. (The funds that had been cut were state aid funds i would no longer receive, plus i was waiting to hear from DHS or SSDI about $170 that was being held back for a reason that wasnt applicable to me) He suggested a less expensive but still mid grade shingle. I suggested not including my garage. He said he would send a new estimate, which he didnt. He just texted me a new number. I asked for clarification whether the new figure included the deposit i already paid. He didnt answer.Aug 29 I said finances an issue ( DHS and SSDI werent getting back to me). I asked it he could just do the chimney seal, bathroom vent, and soffit ventilation. He responded hes not comfortable repairing your roof. Hed have to refund my deposit. I asked when. He responded that they run a bi weekly billing cycle. I thanked him Sept 1 called office asking when. No response to voice mail Sept 5 called, message, no response Sept 6 called, no answer, called again. Receptionist said shed get right back. She didnt Sept 7 call, message, no answer Business has new address/phone ************ ************** I have proof, dont know how to send
