My husband and I recently traveled to *****. We flew ****** Airlines for the international portions of the trip. Somewhere along the way--I suspect in one of the smaller airports in *****--I left a Kindle and an I-Pad in a security bin. I did not file a report of any kind which is why I was surprised when I received a voicemail from someone named "*****" who said that he was from ****** Airlines and did I lose a Kindle? I was suspicious, but not enough to question it, unfortunately. They said I had to file a complaint online (turns out the web address is similar to ******'s lost and found, but not the same). I was surprised to discover that filing the complaint would cost me $39.99, but I gave them the credit card information anyway. I also gave them serial numbers so that it would be an easy match. The next day I got an email saying that they were unable to find anything. Several days later I called the number that **** gave me as the merchant contact number and (no surprise) "no one is available to answer your call." A day after I called them I got an email saying that my "refund" was being processed. This is a total scam.

My parents arrived from ***** through ********* Airlines (SQ24) at ***************) on Sep 21, 2022. While picking up the rest of his luggage at baggage claim, he left his carryon black briefcase on the floor. We reached home and realized that the briefcase was missing. We went back to terminal 4 to look for it-with no success. While trying to file a claim with *** lost and found-Instafile company listing came up as first. I assumed it was a legitimate official Lost and Found site. I filed the claim with them on Sep 21. Felt strange that we had to pay $39.99 for it, but we paid it assuming that they will go beyond our own efforts in looking for the missing luggage. Next day, we also filed a lost property claim with the official *** lost and found. Received two emails from Instafile stating that *** terminal 4 has been included in the search area, but have received no further updates since then. I have called the company twice (Sep 22 and then Sep 26)-with no action on their part. Seems like a scam. We would like a refund of the $39.99 paid to them on Sep 21.

On 9-13-22 I went online in search of **************************** Lost and Found and the first hit on my search was something called "Instafile Reporting" that appeared to be affiliated with *********** Lost and Found but is not. The site charged $39.99 to file a lost and found claim that they purported to assist with. The website would not process the credit card ****************** payment and I pressed submit 2 times, resulting in 2 different $39.99 charges on my **************** card. I contacted ** and asked for assistance in disputing these charges, and if nothing else, a total refund on one of the $39.99 charges since it was a duplicate charge. I have attempted 2 phone calls to Instafile with no luck in contacting a representative. During one call, the Amerian Express rep was on another phone listening to my attempts to contact Instafile. They have notes to this effect. I googled Instafile and see comments from other "users" who state instafile is a scam. Any assistance you can provide in helping me to have these charges reversed would be greatly appreciated. I did receive an email from Instafile stating they are GOING to (it hasn't happened yet) refund me $30.00 on one of the $39.99 charges. As of this moment the refund has not appeared on my AE account.

This company claims to be associated with **************. They're not affiliated and request a $40 payment to make a claim. It is a scam.

I tried to use the Instafile service to find my lost bag at JFK. I paid a $40 fee and they never emailed me or sent any communication about my bag. I then had to call the *********** lost and found directly and then was able to get my bag. I have requested a refund for my $40 fee because Instafile never sent any communication or updates about my bag. This company is a scam.
