The salesman named Mark calls directly to talk to my mother. They sent my mother at the end of December an item in the hope that she would "like the item and keep it". They also sent a bracelet that was returned. They withdrew the money from her checking account without authorization. AFTER, I asked them in an email, to send a detailed invoice so we would know for sure how much was owed on the bill so we could pay them. Which they would not send because I, her daughter, was not on the account. They then talked her into buying a ring and then withdrew without authorization again, another 209.00 from her checking account for the ring. Never received the refund. I believe they are taking advantage of an elderly person in the hope they will not remember. My mother is 87 years old and has mild dementia. They also asked for a copy of POA which I refuse to give a copy of to these people.Stauer, LLC

I ordered a wooden, walking stick from Stauer. It arrived bent & warped! I think it came out of a warehouse with no heat. I had to pay returns shipping onj it. like $20. The Company was SLOW to give me a refund & didn't seem to care that it was DAMAGED & a real REJECT.. Appears they will try & send you whatever they have laying in their warehouse & HOPE that you don't notice. All I can say aboyut them is "BEWARE!"Stauer, LLC

Low quality product aimed at the elderly. Their sales agent directly calls my father who has dementia, and there is a $5000+ on his credit card bill. My father says the jewelry that arrives has much smaller stones than pictured. Why does this business still exist.Stauer, LLC

Warning! Do not purchase from Stauer. Their watches are not worth the prices they ask for. Their metal surfaces tarnish and their fake “genuine leather” bands quickly fall apart. They only have a 30 day return policy and after that, one can expect a “tough luck” attitude. You are better off buying a cheap Chinese watch at Marshals, at least they have a much better return policy for items they don’t even manufacture. They also charge a ridiculous shipping charge.Stauer, LLC

I've placed several orders. I just made an order by phone for the dolphin pendant for 39.00. Looked online, and it is 29.00. I have yet to use one of the $50 coupons. I still have 3 coupons sitting in front of me. Shipping/insurance is ridiculously high. Quality of merchandise is not that great. Very disappointed with Stauer and their policies and products.Stauer, LLC

If you think Stauer must be a good product because Smithsonian Magazine runs their ads, think again. The Stauer watch I ordered from the Smithsonian ad simply did not work. Not at all. Not for even one second. I paid Stauer a total of $56.64. The price of the watch was $29.95 and Stauer charged $26.69 for shipping and handling. In the original shipping package, Stauer provided a mailing label for me to use in case I wanted to return it. But if I use the mailing label, Stauer will deduct $12.50 from my refund. So I won't get back $29.95, I'll only get back $17.45. In short, if I return my useless watch to them, Stauer will have gotten $39.14 ($56.64 - $17.50) of my money AND will also get their watch back, which they will then, no doubt, send to some other victim. To prevent them from doing that, I am going to keep the useless watch. The whole scheme is a shame on both Stauer and Smithsonian Magazine. On the lovely made-in-China box Stauer provides for shipping your product, Michael ********* congratulates you on making such a fine purchase. I guess it's nice of him to congratulate you for being a sucker.Stauer, LLC

For product returns requesting a refund, the $12.50 shipping fee will be deducted from your refund. No postage will be deducted if returned on your own, not using the pre-paid label. Ordered a opal ring from stauer when received l noticed that a stone was missing a stone , sent back to Stauer a month has passed and still. Calling several times to no avail. Extremely disappointed will not order from this company againStauer, LLC

Called to make simple order, got a lady who sounded very distant & there were dogs barking in the background. Managed to get order in (2 items @ $19.00 each) & asked for my order amount, all I got was a click & some never ending music. She never came back. Was on hold for nearly a half hour trying to reach someone. Finally did & was told my bill was $145.00. They said she charged me for some buyers club thing I know nothing about & was never asked for. Got this off my bill Finally. A few days later got an e-mail saying I chose the split pay option (which I didn't). This whole experience was a buyers nightmare I will never, ever deal with them againStauer, LLC

Ok product. Outrageous shipping charge. Usury "insurance" charge when it's already covered by the carrier. SLOOOOW shipping despite the HIGH charge. OK, I saw an ad in a recent AARP magazine for a Sterling Silver Balinese dolphin pendant with a 1 karat Blue Topaz stone. It was $29.99, supposedly marked down from $299. Sure,,, in what alternative universe is a 4.68 gram pendant (that includes the stone, which itself is worth about $15) worth $299??? The melt value of the pendant at today's spot is approx $3.35, but part of that 4.68 grams is the stone. However, it looked nice and my wife likes dolphin jewelry. I called the number, That's when I found out that the shipping charge was $20.95. This is for an item that weighs FAR LESS than 1 ounce. And then there is an "insurance" charge of $3.75. That nearly doubles the total cost. With sales tax here in FL the total was $57.13, very close to double the cost. Let me explain about "insurgence". UPS, FedEx and now even USPS Priority Mail have a default declared coverage of $100 per package. So WHY was I being charged extra for "insurance"? I asked that and was not pleased with the answer so I ended the call. But then I thought, it was a really nice looking pendant, and I had an extra Sterling Silver chain for it, so I called again, and purchased it. I was severely pressed to "join" the "platinum program" but I refused because it was some $125 or more and I wasn't sure I would ever get anything else with the way Stauer was charging sky high shipping and for "insurance" that the carrier already provided. I had to tell the person about SIX TIMES that "I ONLY WANT THE PENDANT". It was shipped and charged on the 14th, but then it took SEVEN days to get from MN to FL. I could have bicycled that distance in my younger days. And this was for some $25 shipping & "insurance" charge. Now I'm getting dozens of emails but there is always the "spam" button. Again, It looks nice, but it''s very light at 4.68 grams.Stauer, LLC

OK, First, My wife has not been presented with it yet. I'm saving it for a Valentines Day gift. As to the $24.70 refund mentioned above, there has been NO SUCH REFUND / CREDIT posted to my CC that I originally paid for this with, and I just checked before writing this. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, no such refund has been effected. I check that account several times a week, and if it does ever post, I will return, but as of today, Stauer has not done what they stated they would do.Review fromJennifer M

My 89 year old mother ordered items from Stauer, Unbeknownst to her she signed up for their Platinum Membership. I called customer service, waited 30 minutes to talk with someone to cancel this. Was told I couldn't do it, it needed to be her or POA for finance, that "he takes privacy very seriously." As an extension of my mother, I am the POA for health care, I am not allowed to cancel this "lets take advantage of you membership." He then proceeds to tell me that she has made six purchases, where is the privacy there? To top it off he then hung up on me, after I waited 30 minutes to talk with someone. So now my 89 year old mom gets to sit on hold for Lord knows how long to cancel this membership. I cannot speak to their products, but their customer service is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!Stauer, LLC
