I purchased two garage doors from this company on 9/5/2024. The installation had a lot of safety issues and I had to call them back to fix these issues. The frame of the door was not even attached to the wall. There were approximately 15 issues with the installation. They did finally come back to fix most of the issues -- ONLY BECAUSE I OWED THEM MONEY. As I have heard from other people that have worked with this company, if they have your money they avoid you. I am still waiting for the touch-up paint and bolts for the frame. He is completely avoiding me now. He has the worst customer service of any business I have ever dealt with. I messaged him and told him to just put it in the mail but every week goes by and I hear nothing. I have been waiting for this for 6 months. I have been extremely patient and have given him every opportunity to make this right. After reading some of the comments from others, I am surprised he is still in business. Installation of 3 overhead doors on our shop. Total bid was $29,085.66 estimated from Kath Overhead on 3/29/23. Contractor required 2 progress payments with final payment being due upon project completion.1 amount paid on 4/20/23 amount of $14,500 1 amount paid on 10/24/23 amount of $7,600 Overhead door contractor partially installed doors November 2023. We then learn that panels installed were not correct panels and overhead door contractor is ordering correct panels(due in within several weeks). Have had minimal contact with contractor for over 4 months. He does not respond to dozens of texts, calls, emails etc. Says he has correct panels and continues to give install dates for months and fails to follow through. Contacted another overhead door company to give quote on finishing work, only to find out several track systems installed by Kath Overhead are not properly installed and would require significant rework to function properly and meet manufacturers requirements for product performance. We have been EXTREMELY civil to Kath Overhead and given him EVERY opportunity to correct this. He continues to ignore our pleading to finish the job. Building has been complete for 2 months with ZERO action from Kath Overhead to finish their scope of work. Will gladly pay him his final amount due when they finish their scope of work.Initial Complaint

ORDER DOORS ON 7-25-23 DOWN PAYMENT BY CHECK FOR $2000.00. HAVE NOT RECEIVE THEM. CONTACT KATH OVERHEAD DOORS ALWAYS GOTTEN THE RUN AROUND BY NOT SHOWING UP OR THEY HAVE TO DO A BIG JOB FIRST. I ordered doors Aug 6 and paid a deposit of $5400. ***** said about 6 weeks for doors to show up and another 2 weeks for install. ***** is very bad at returning calls and text. Sept 15 he says doors are ready to pick up. Oct 3 I ask about install. He replies "Call you later with schedule" he does not call. I call him Oct 11.Oct 30 ***** texts that he will call and dosent. I call him oct 31 I believe he claims he will get me in next week. Nov 8 I text "I will be around Friday." He replies "Next Thursday or after. Hope to have you done before next weekend."Nov 21 I text, his text he was sick for last 1 1/2 weeks and he will call. He did'nt call. Nov 27 I call. ***** claimes employee quite. He has a new guy but things are going slow.Nov 22 I text to set date "Next week?" Nov 27 ***** text "I will call you in 20 minutes" No call. Nov 30 I text "Are you planning to install tomorrow"Dec 1 Call, No answer. He texts he will call back. Rec'd a quote from Kath Overhead in Summer/Fall of 2022 but my father decided to wait on the doors to his shop. In September 2023, my father decided he would like to move forward on the door. Reached out to ******************* who stated he would have to revisit the quote since prices had went up. Rec'd quote and on 9/12/2023 ******************* went to my parents home to receive a check for at least 1/2 down to order the doors. My mother paid more than half because ***** stated we needed to order them so we could have by the first week in October and then aim to install before end of Oct. On 10/12 I called/text ***** since we hadn't received any updates and this is when ***** told us that he only ordered one door. He stated he placed the other door and put a rush on it and hope to have by end of the week. Stated he would try to squeeze us in & get at least 1 of the doors up. ***** has not reached out to us since unless we initiated the call or text since his voicemail is full, he instructs you to text him. When he should text back, he will give us a date but then never shows up. He did show up on 11/22/23 & installed 1 door but it is not hooked up & unfunctional. I asked in a text that I wanted daily updates by EOD/5PM until doors are completed & ***** agreed but has never kept his agreement. On 11/30/23 we were able to reach him but using another unrecognizable phone number since he will not pick up the phone if we use a phone where he has text from on our frustration. On this 11/30 call he promised that he would be out at my parents within the week. Still no show and unable to reach him. June of 2023 I ordered 5 overhead doors from them and he says they will be delivered 4 to 5 weeks. I gave him $7000 down and the rest would be paid upon completion. It is 12 weeks now and he has stopped communication and I do not have any doors at all. If I do hear from him it's empty promises such as next week or I'm in the doctor's ******* I told him I either want my doors or I want my money back and no response.Business Response

Kath Overhead Doors gave me an estimate in September to replace my garage door, I signed and returned the estimate and paid the deposit, which was $750. ***** at **** said they would complete the job within a month which would have been by the end of October. There has not been any work completed and it is now the second week of January. Several times ***** said he was comping the next day to complete the work and never showed and did not call to cancel or reschedule. Now he is not responding to texts or telephone calls at all and he still has my money. How can he just take my money and not complete the work? There must be a law against this. He has lied saying he will complete the work and now that I asked for either my money back or for him to set a date and keep it, he has not responded or communicated at all. I feel like my money has been stolen by a ***** and need assistance to get my money back from him.Business Response

I contacted ******* on January 10th to schedule her garage door install, as the doors had just came in in the beginning of January. I had installed the garage doors at Rebeccas on January 12th. I had received the BBB complaint in the mail on January 14th. The issue should be resolved, as we are just waiting for ******* to mail the final payment.

The work has been completed satisfactorily. However, in the business's response they stated the door was only received by the business in early January and I was told by the business that the door had been received in late November during a previous phone call.
