Date of visit August 25th 2023.I was referred by ******* Eyecare to see a dr. in an attempt to find an underlying issue to my health problem.I made the appointment and gave my insurance information to Essentia at time of visit. I was with the Dr for approximately 20 minutes where I told her what issues I have that my contribute to my health problem. I was then sent to lab for work and a tetnis shot that I never got, and the scheduling of more tests.A few weeks later I was to have a series of tests however 2 days before the procedure I was told by Essentia that they could not verify my insurance. I provided Essentia with the contact information for my insurance and even contacted my insurance personally to verify the codes I was given by essentia was covered in network. However Essentia refused to wait for a representative to verify my insurance and told me that it is my responsibility to verify the insurance?I canceled all future procedures that day.In February I received an outrageous bill from Essentia. When I called and disputed the bill I diputed be charges for a wellness visit when it was not a wellness visit. I was charged a smoking consultation for the Dr. ****** me if I was interested in quiting smoking and I told her no. I was charged for a breast examination where all she did is see if she could feel the lump in my breast to schedule an x ray. This took about 2 minutes. After disputing the charge I received a letter stating that after review all codes were correct. I called Essentia where I was told that the notes on my account state that the Dr. **** above and beyond to help me and that if I do not pay that they are sending me to collections. I attempted to make a payment arrangement but was denied and again told that if not paid in full I was being sent to collections. It is my understanding that Essentia is threatening me.Essentia health has failed to follow through with providing me with health care and is now threatening me.To my understanding this is against the law.I hope that this issue may be resolved before it causes me further hardship.

I have started a new job and the pay isn't what it should be yet. I am trying to get financial assistance to pay for a ********** received. I sent in all the information they asked for when I applied. It took 4-6 weeks to hear anything back. When I did hear back they said that I didn't submit the correct information and gave me a liist of what they need. I printed the letter to make sure I gave them everything they are asking for. I sent it all into their email they provided. And today I got another letter stating that nothing has changed and that I didn't submit everything. I did everything they asked for and the same day they sent the first denial letter. This has been a few weeks since I submitted the second time. No one can give me an answer on how to get this resolved. It seems like no one even looked at the info I submitted. They don't supply any number or any place to go to talk to someone about what they need. This is beyond frustrating. The medical industry is the biggest joke at the moment. The doctor's don't care to help you and no one will help when you call to figure things out.

Essentia Health owed me a refund from August of 2022 which I finally received in July of 2023 in the amount of $90.66. I am now receiving threatening, continuous Late Payment notices for the same amount from Essentia. This truly feels like harassment. I contacted BB about the original claim and the legal department contacted me and did nothing. It took more calls by myself and a call center person who followed through to get this resolved. I thought it was ok but now am receiving these harassing emails, I have an excellent credit rating and do not want it affected by Essentias lack of follow through.

I went to the Essentia - ******************* on December 1, 2022 around 8 p.m. because of severe vertigo/dizziness. It got to the point where I needed help standing and walking. My two sisters brought me to ************ Note that *********** hours end at 9 p.m. but we arrived and were admitted before that cut off time. I was brought into a room and seen by ****************. I explained the situation in a clear, chronological manner. **************** would interrupt stating an incorrect version of what I told him. I had to reiterate myself several times. He immediately had a tone of scolding or accusing as if I was lying to him about my symptoms. He did one test for nystagmus but did it without me moving my head. If I was perfectly still, the dizziness would not come on (which I did say in my explanation) so this test was pointless. He then took the results of his test to mean nothing was actually wrong with me. When he went to leave two times, my sister (a nurse who worked elsewhere) was asking questions on my behalf but he just spouted some random answer over his shoulder and hustled out of the room. He left for some time (I was there for around 1 1/2 hours) and then came back with a nurse to test me walking a short distance up and down the hallway. When I attempted, keeping my eyes downwards because that helped with the dizziness, they took a hostile tone that I "wasn't looking where I was going" and I had to explain that keeping my head all the way up made me so dizzy and nauseous that I might vomit or faint. I did the short walk needing to use a wall for support. Afterwards, the doctor said here's some anti-nausea pills, and basically go home because you'll be fine. Then my insurer received two bills. One for $369 (which customer support told me was the doctor's ***** then $1,017 for the room fee as ER, not ***** sent in two requests for it to be reviewed but they said you signed a paper that a nurse checked as ER, therefore we won't look into it.
