I live in a Townhouse Assoication whose property manager only uses AllStar Construction and Maintenance. They both started in my community 2019. AllStar started with deck. My deck rebuild started 2019, right out of the gate crew upset because I asked why party (shared) wall was not going to be totally rebuilt, so they left for lunch. Wind came up picked up party wall and it smashed against sliding glass door. Once deck completed started having issues with dryer not drying clothes yet we had our vents cleaned through Association. I am now of 3rd dyer brand new and having issues, it was found that AllStar had blocked and disconnected dryer exhaust vent from interior/exterior wall by 50%. All 80 decks they have done since 2019 do not have a final inspection through City of Blaine. Permits were not posted on properties. City had tried 3-5 times to reach them since starting in 2019 with no response. If it were not for me having issues with my dryers this would have never been found out. Meeting with City, property manager and AllStar. Of course they want to try and saying this was how units built in 80's, lied right to my face and City Inspector face about adding duct work they are not licensed through the State of MN to touch. I have been dealing with this issue for 2 years. Deck does not have all the nails, j channel never caulked, party wall never inspected for fire safety. etc,,, They do not realize that this could have caused a dryer fire and or carbon monoxide poisoning. All they want to do is try to shift the blame onto the dryer vent company or homeowner instead of saying they screwed up and make it right. If they were to do job correctly in first place there would not be this review, instead it would be a stellar review. Manager expects Association to cover cost for damages now to interior from this. We also had issues with them in 2019 on replacing the wrong roof of a unit as they got addresses confused. No follow through, communication, just blaming...Allstar Construction & Maintenance Operating Company, LLC

****,We understand your frustration with the situation and do apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. Regarding the dryer vent issue; the vent is located at the ledger board of the deck and there are other vents in close proximity. We did not relocate or change any vents during the deck replacement. If there was some form of blockage or disconnect in the dryer vent, we were not made aware until years after the work had been completed. As soon as we were made aware of the reported issues we contacted and met with both the city and the homeowner to inspect further and to assist in any way necessary. Again we want to apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced and we will continue to assist in finding remedy. *** will be in contact with you to discuss further. We have also communicated with the city of ****** regarding the permits and confirmed that we have permits in place for ALL decks that we had been contracted to replace or repair. There were several decks on the property that were replaced by some other company prior to our involvement and this I think, may be where the some confusion lies.We look forward to resolving your issue in a timely manner.Sincerely,*******************************Review fromDiane S

TERRIBLE customer service by TYSON *****. They did not do their job properly to clean up after a water leak and left us with MOLD in our house. This company was called out by my association after our common wall neighbor's dishwasher leaked through our common wall. All Star had somebody out within 2 hours and brought industrial fans and a dehumidifier which were left in place for several days. One of their crew came several times to take moisture readings and didn't like something on day 3 so they pulled our flooring up and baseboards off. After a couple more days, they deemed everything okay and removed their equipment. We had a flooring company out to give us a bid on replacing the floor/baseboards and he thought it was curious that they did remove the lower 2' of sheetrock as he sees with every post-water issue he works on. I told him they did moisture readings and assured us that everything was okay. About 4 weeks later, while we were still waiting on the flooring to arrive, I noticed MOLD on our sheetrock where the water came through. I called TYSON ***** (tyson @ allstartoday . com) and emailed him right away and asked him to send somebody out to deal with the mold ASAP. He never responded. TWO WEEKS went by before a response. A guy came out and looked at it and said it was definitely mold and that likely it wasn't dry between the common wall (since the water came from the other side) and that lead to mold. He felt it was his company's responsibility and he would fight for us to have All Star pay to fix the mold and repair the wall. Well, the set up a time to have him out to remove the damaged section but no call, no showed our appointment and then completely went radio silent for a week. When my husband finally got in touch with Tyson, he would only send somebody out if we had an insurance claim (not filing one for THEIR shoddy work) or if we paid out of pocket. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this company and will never do business with them again.Allstar Construction & Maintenance Operating Company, LLC

Call /Email came in from the association on 2/13 for a water Loss. We responded and set **** and 2 air movers. 2/13/23 Began demo and set equipment 2/14/23 Completed demo 2/15/23 Dry check both units, expect **** to be dry tomorrow 2/16/23 Couldnt get into units, left dry check for tomorrow 2/17/23 Dry check in ****. Unit is dry, removed equipment. Couldnt get into ****.2/21/23 Scheduled with homeowners to do dry check, they gave ***** the garage code. Upon arrival, found all equipment wrapped up and placed in garage and door to unit locked. No final dry check done.Summary We were hired by the Association to Respond and mitigate a water loss. We did that. Homeowner stated they were concerned we removed equipment before it was dry. They have mold. I sent ***** out to take a look. The area in question had a small patch of surface mold near the floor. We tested that area at the time of the loss and it tested dry. Both the Base Boards and the drywall. As well at the dry checks. ***** went to the home here are his field notes from that visit:***********r 4/11/23 4:09 PM Checked all drywall in area of concern and also under stairs and found all areas dry. Did find small patch of mold behind base board in bathroom. Discussed with customer and told them that we could clean the area and 3 feet in all directions eliminating all spores. ******** stated that she would prefer to have the drywall removed as she has had issues with mold in the past. I have spoken with ***** and he will reach out to the association to figure out next steps. Customers earliest availability is Friday after 1 PM. I reached out to the association to verify who would be responsible for additional work and the property manager stated the Homeowner would be. I then called the owners and spoke to **** and told him that I spoke with the manager and she stated it would be the owners responsibility. He asked why we didnt flood cut the wall and I told him the wall and base boards tested dry. We do not remove building materials that are dry. I said they could file a homeowners claim with their insurance company and we could work with them to get things covered. He said he would be performing the work himself because it is a small project and they would not be filing an insurance claim. He said he would discuss with his wife and get back to me. I did not receive a call back from him.Allstar Construction & Maintenance Operating Company, LLC

*****, we sincerely apologize for the way you are feeling and for the current situation. We want to clarify that we are contracted with your association specifically for emergency mitigation repairs. In the specific area you mentioned, we made a deliberate decision not to remove any drywall since the moisture levels indicated that the area was dry.If any surface mold was found behind the base trim, it is likely that it was preexisting, as the moisture levels during testing would have been elevated in that area. We would be more than happy to revisit the location in question to review it again. Upon the removal of our mitigation equipment, all drywall and flooring moisture levels were consistently within acceptable industry standards. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to addressing any concerns you may have.Review fromCarole S

We have worked with this company for years and were always satisfied. Until now We had them out to fix a pool gate door which they have fixed before. This time we were struggling with the lock portion, they had many fixes and it still was not corrected. I was told by the last person that was out here that he would go back to the office and see if he could get some ideas to the problem, That was over 3 weeks ago. I have been calling and leaving messages since then and being told that some one would call me back. It never happened. . Our HOA manager called to day and was told that there was nothing more they could do for us and no one would be returning calls or coming out. VERY POOR CUSTOMER service, Why was I told numerous times some one would get back to me when that was never the intention, Now we have to find someone else to fix the problem they did not fix, DO NOT USE THEMAllstar Construction & Maintenance Operating Company, LLC

Thank you for being a repeat customer of *********************************************. While we are happy that you have been satisfied with our service in the past, we are very regretful of your most recent experience with our company. We pride ourselves on not only quality work, but also superior customer service, with a clear and client friendly process through the entire experience. After multiple attempts to perform a permanent fix for this gate, we have suggested to the management company to have a fence company repair it as there are things out of our control such as the frost heaving during season changes, and the amount of traffic that uses this gate. We take the feedback of our customers - past, current, and potential to heart. We appreciate you letting us know and we are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations on this project.
