I live in Massachusetts and ARCA is contracted to recycle old appliances. I called them with my appropriate electrical company's account information however they said they couldn't verify my information and would need a couple of days. I didn't hear back for two weeks. I left them two messages. I finally received a return call and they were able to verify my information and they scheduled an appliance pick-up. I received a call the day before from ARCA claiming that once again they couldn't verify my account information and would be cancelling my scheduled pick-up. It took another two weeks for someone to again, verify my account information. I schedule another pick-up. They agreed that they would give me a 30 minute courtesy call when they were on there way. I received a call during the allotted time from the pick-up team saying there were outside my door. I told them I was ten minutes away and asked them to wait. They said they couldn't wait and I would need to reschedule. I was able to speak with a supervisor who apologized for not offer the courtesy call. And at the same time rescheduled another pick-up date. Sure enough, on the scheduled date, they pick-up team did NOT give me a courtesy called but called when they were outside my door. This time, after pleading they agreed to wait 15 minutes. However when I got there they said because the unit is on the third floor walk-up, they could not accept it. They only will collect from two floors up. I was very clear when I scheduled the pick-up what floor I was on. And I believe that is one of the questions they ask. So they left.....not with my appliance unfortunately. I asked to speak to a supervisor again and requested they file a formal complaint. They said they would do that and someone would reach out to me. Haven't heard anything yet.
