I purchased home service plan for 79.99 with replacement plan since last May for my rental house. We also provided a mailing address other than service address and paid for this plan for 11 month when our water heater was leaking and service guy said it was no repairable nor qualify for replacement under company‘s policy and we communicated with customer service and tried to talk with their manager. The manager never talked with us except a brief message to refund part of payment for the replacement plan. If they did not sell this replacement plan we can go to many other companies without this discrimination on rental house.CenterPoint Energy

We are asking them to cancel the account for our previous house since March. But every month, we receive an invoice for this house, now occupied by someone else.CenterPoint Energy

3 starsI had an issue with my brothers CenterPoint Energy bill in Mn, he had passed away and once I sold his place placed an online request to cancel the service as of the closing date. That didn’t happen, the person who bought the home didn’t call until 7 days after closing to start his service and in dealing with CenterPoint via email (many many different emails and I even sent a copy of the closing paperwork showing the date we closed and the new owners information) they wouldn’t change anything and stated I would have to pay the difference. I called one Friday and after 2 hours on the phone with many different customer service representatives and their managers in 3 different states even after I stated what state I was in I finally reached a Manager Brittney is Mn, she was wonderful and more than helpful and sympathetic to my situation, she resolved everything but I need to stress it took A LOT of time, patience, emails to get this resolution. Centerpoint please get your **** together, give this young lady a raise and train your people so no one else has to go through what I went through. Brittany’s customer service was EXEMPLARY but the rest of your customer service reps need extensive training in how to help their customers.Review fromMax W

1 starProfessionally non-functional energy company. If there were any other options in the area, I would switch. In Minnesota, Centerpoint seems chronically understaffed. They struggle to perform basic service requests, making billing errors frequently. This has been my personal experience as well as a general experience for my network.Review fromPAT O

1 starLeft my 91-Year-old without heat and its 17 degrees 91 year old mother called service plus to have her furnace looked at because it was blowing slightly warm/cold air. The technician came out -blower was bad and needed replacement. They disconnected the heat she had and left her with a small space heater. Her house was 48-52 degrees at this time. 24 hours later no scheduled time to replace. They use this time to " buy time" so they can take longer to fix things according to a past technician. Part arrives and she has to wait 24 hours to have someone come out. It's now 45 degrees and remember she and older ill woman. I called CenterPoint spoke with ***** he said there is nothing he can do, and we have to wait. I asked repeatedly to call an emergency. I called again was transferred to a supervisor after 37 minutes of asking for one. His name was *****, he said I will get ahold of dispatch and call me back in 30 minutes. HE NEVER CALLED BACK AND LEFT BECAUSE HIS WORK SHIFT WAS OVER--- Yes just left it I called a few hours later and spoke with ******- who was no help and wouldn't help me get this appointment moved up. I couldn't speak to anyone but her, Kids noises in the background and a bad attitude is all she provided. ****** told me *****( supervisor) would call me, and the Tech would be out between 1200 pm - 8:00 am - WE NEVER HEARD FROM ***** AND NOW ONE HAS SHOWED UP. Called again in the morning after waiting all night for Tech spoke with ***** this morning- he checked on the time the Tech coming out. He said between 8 am and 11 am today and said ***** would call me back. STILL NO SHOW AND NO CALL FROM ***** Center point this is a direct threat- if this 91 year old women gets sick/ or has issues from illness because of no heat for days and she is cold- WE WILL BE SUING! YOU ARE A COMPLETE JOKE WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. ***** YOU NEED TO BE FIRED!Review fromJoe D

This company is absolutely terrible their online payment system stopped working for me over a year ago when I call they tell me it is my computer(it is not my computer as I had a friend use my computer and it worked fine for them not sure how) they claim I can`t use a checking account because of a returned payment from the bank. Last week I sat at my bank for 2 and a half hours trying to find this returned payment and according to my bank that never happened. If this wasn`t a monopoly in Minnesota I would change to a different gas provider but that`s not possible. I have not had on good experience with this company.CenterPoint Energy

Mr. ****************************** records show that two payment attempts in February and April 2024 could not be completed due to incorrect banking information entered. Notices were sent via mail that the payments were returned due to "ACCOUNT NOT FOUND" on February 15 and April 5.Review fromMichael S

I want to start by saying that the people I have talked to on the phone have been great. Now the bad. Does not call 30 minutes prior to service. Technician Rushes away to next job instead of waiting a few minutes or trying to contact me. Dispatch is unwilling to contact available technicians. I just want to have hot water. I started this process a week ago. It wouldn't surprise me if this company is working their employees to the bone just to milk a little more money out of their guaranteed profit.CenterPoint Energy

Mr. ************* you for the feedback regarding your experience with CenterPoint Energy's technician. Our records indicate that the technician attempted to reach you via phone on 10/1 but was unable to reach you. Your service was then restored on 10/2 as requested. Center would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this issue.Review fromTami M

1 starHad service appointment on furnace 9/23/24 in which a part needed to be ordered. Called back on 9/29 as part had arrived. Appointment was scheduled for same day. Received call in the afternoon (after taking day off of work), indicating the appointment was entered wrong and required expert technician so appointment would need to be rescheduled for today 9/30/24. Received follow-up call 15 minutes later confirming technicians would be arriving early around 8:30am. As 8:30 came/passed today without anyone showing up, I called back and was told the technicians would be arriving by 12:00pm. At 12:25, with still no one showing up, my husband received a text stating the appointment was cancelled! I called back and was told the prior rep put in the appointment wrong (I spoke with 4 reps) and the appointment was reclassified and rescheduled for tomorrow. This all occurred without anyone contacting me! I have already taken two days off of work and been held hostage to a timeline given by CenterPoint Home Service. Having spoken to 4 representatives (all re-confirmed the needs of my appointment) to have me wait and then cancel the appointment is unprofessional! I can’t continue to take days off of work and sit around hoping the team gets their act together! It is only 12:30 so no excuse I should be delayed another day and have to take a 3rd day off of work! I have been patient…but now I am irate! As I spoke to the rep, I said this is unacceptable and need a supervisor to call me and someone needs to come today. The rep was unapologetic and stated she would request someone get back to me but if not I will just have to wait until tomorrow. Not acceptable at all!!! I know things happen but if 4 reps and the technicians can’t do their job to ensure their customers are not impacted, then some major changes need to occur on the team. I will be sharing my dissatisfaction with everyone on the lack of “quality” service given to valued customers.Review fromStarkHoldingsLLC O

I have tried canceling Center Point Energy Home Service plus 2 times by email indicating that I want service canceled and received claim #'s. I tried calling and never got through to follow up from the email requests and they still charged me the next month even after I canceled autopay prior to them taking out the payment. I sent another email got another claim number, no response again, finally got through by phone and was apologize too then I was told they would back date the termination, I received another claim # (I was also expecting a credit for the month they autopaid after I canceled autopay) and guess what, just received by mail a final notice to pay for another month. Avoid signing up for this service if you ever expect to cancel it.CenterPoint Energy
