AVOID Bedrock Motors at all costs. Purchased a 2011 ***** Traverse in November of 2021 for $9k with ******* miles. LESS THAN 2 years later and only ****** miles added, weve had to replace the ENGINE, the Transmission, Catalytic Converter, the Power Steering system, and other miscellaneous items TOTALING OVER $18K! Double the price of the car. Bedrock motors installed the engine as a Remanufactured engine on 7/23/23 for $9k with 2 warranties. Now today, just over a year later, the engine installed by bedrock is leaking in at least one spot, possibly more. Only ****** miles have been driven on the reman engine. Bedrock is refusing to assist in anyway and stating neither of my 2 warranties will cover anything (One through Bedrock themselves). The car is clearly a lemon. Bedrock has milked us for thousands of dollars on top of the price of the car. and now refuses to repair the engine put in ****** miles/15 months ago. On top of this, **** at the Blaine Location, as well as ***** the manager have avoided my calls/emails and completely ignored my CCPA request to Opt my data out of sharing/selling per their Privacy Policy.

Customer brought their vehicle into our shop on 10/24/24 for diagnosis.  The leaks that the customer is concerned about are not coming from the engine that was replaced on 7/27/23.  Our technicians found leaking from the power steering rack, power steering pump, and possibly the transfer case.  All of these items were not replaced as part of the engine replacement.  This vehicle is 14 years old and currently has over 200K miles.  It is not uncommon for a vehicle this age to have leaks.  We have complied with the customer's request to opt out of any data sharing / selling.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/05/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

As stated by two other repair shops, the leaks are coming from the Timing Cover and possibly the rear main seal.
The engine oil was died neon green, and is clearly leaking oil.

When my car was brought into Bedrock motors for diagnostic, they drained the died oil and replaced it and clean it up. In a nefarious act.

Both alternate repair shops have said the power steering system is NOT leaking.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/06/2024

Any leaks are covered for 12 months or ****** miles from the time of repair.  We are beyond that in both time and mileage.  The remaining warranty the customer has on the engine is for internal engine components - not leaks.

       Better Business Bureau:

As proven by this response, the business is unwilling to assist.
      Thank you Bedrock Motors.
$9k vehicle with $18k in additional repairs and you cannot make an exception for an engine you installed 1 year ago.

Anyone reading this, Avoid this business.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We are an older couple and were treated fine by Bedrock Motors earlier this month UNTIL we walked out the door with our newly purchased Jeep. Drove 200+ miles home and found that one of the new tires they put on had a torn stem, which required an immediate trip in to a local place to repair. We sent a message to Bedrock Motors management, which wasn't even acknowledged. (We weren't even asking for a reimbursement.) Then we learned that the proximity lock on the Jeep didn't work. A phone call to them and we were blown off. Another phone call to them the following day and we were told by **** in sales that he'd check with their mechanic and call us back the next day. Nno phone call...yet! To top it all off, they were not honest with us in disclosing that there is an outstanding recall on this model of Jeep, which has no solution to date, even after I asked them about this type of thing before we purchased it. We were told there was a 30 day warranty on this Jeep, which we are still under. We are looking for reimbursement on the tire repair, which was less than $20 and for the proximity door lock on the driver's door to be repaired.

I spoke with Mr ********* on the phone today.  I have not received any calls or emails in regard to these issues prior to receiving the BBB complaint.  The repairs are not covered by the 30 day or ***** mile warranty, as this warranty is a limited powertrain warranty.  As a good will gesture, I offered to have the customer bring the vehicle back for our technician to diagnose at no cost.  Or that I would pay up to $100 for their local shop to diagnose the concern.

We sold the vehcle AS IS  but she did purchase a service contract.  *********** contract wants a tear down of the motor to the point of failure.  We determined that the rings in the motors are bad and unfortunatley they are not a covered componet.  The claim will be turned down and the customer will be responsible for the labor in addition to repairing the vehilce.  We have provided a loaner for the customer to use from day one due to the vehicle not operating.  We have tried to replace the another vehicle but she left the store and told our salesperson she will be contacting an attorney and in the meantime we ended up selling the vehicel that we showed her to someone else.  I asked the customer to return our loaner and will unwind the original car deal but she hung up and has yet to get respond to my request.  Her father did reach out and is very reasonable person, he said he would talk with her and would like us to see what we can do about replacing the vehicle with another one and will be in Friday morning give our loaner back and to explore their options for  a different vehicle.   At this point I want our loaner vehicle back and she can bring her car to a different shop to be repaired or trade it in elsewhere.

The next morning We called the car lot because the antifreeze had leaked out all over the garage floor they told us to bring the car in they would have the mechanic look at it. The called us to say they mechanic said he ordered the part. Two weeks had went bye they still didn't have it fixed we called the car lot back to say we needed a loaner which they provided. Two more weeks have passed still no clue as to when the part will be here. I need a exchange they sold me a car that wasn't drivable.

The part to fix the customer's car is on national national back order.  Parts availability from the manufacturer is out of our control.  We have provided the customer a loaner vehicle to use until their car is fixed.  The repair and the loaner vehicle are provided at no cost to the customer.
