Purchased a branded title vehicle, which they were up front about. I was ok with the purchase. Even was so pleased that I had other family purchase from the same location. I was pushed into purchasing their extended warranty and using their financing even though I had secured my own through my credit union. They said the trade number depended on such. I agreed to explore what they had to offer. The finance manager Rook at the location I dealt with was for lack of better terms, sketchy at best and not representative of the brand that *** has presented and built in the community. Upon receiving the "warranty" paperwork, it clearly stated that the warranty company doesn't cover previously branded title vehicles. I immediately called Rook and was reassured that they had an agreement with the warranty company and that doesn't apply to this dealership, as they have a prior understanding. After financing the 4800 for the warranty with the deal, I looked over the paperwork and there was a 10K aggregate limit, which in this discontinued Cummins engine wouldn't cover half of it, and in the warranty it stated "Gas" engine. I again contacted Rook, he obliged to take a ****** change fee for the warranty and it was reissued with a NADA value limit but remain as a Gas warranty policy but was assured that there was not an option to indicate a diesel powertrain. Fast forward 2 years and I have a breakdown that should be covered, I make contact with the warranty company and they have no idea that it was prior salvage and request even more money to possibly cover the vehicle for a warranty already paid for(financed). I request my refund for a fraudulently sold warranty, was unable to reach ****, had the new ** call me back after emailing the owners and everyone in the dealership. Was assured I would get a call back the next day after talking to the dealer principle's. This was over a month ago and I have tried to reach out and still no returning of phone calls or emails.

    Hi *****,

I reviewed the message that you sent in. I wasn't here at the time when you purchased the vehicle but have dug in and done my research on the issue presented to me. One person you delt with is no longer here but the other person is, and I questioned him about the transaction.  After gathering info from him and through our pervious conversation I want to apologize from me and our MTH family. There was definitely a lack of communication on our end and in our understanding of the warranty.  We are going to make this right for you, and I will be in touch today. This is a learning experience for us in our continuation to make sure we provide the highest level of customer experience for everyone that does business with us.

    Thanks,
    Don Patterson

Financed a **** Mustang on 04/09/2024. Discovered issues with vehicle so I brought it in for Service at *** to make it right. I thought there may have been a transmission issue as well as a electrical problem with the radio. After all the head ache, I wanted to return the vehicle as the cost to repair was more than the vehicle was worth.

Minnesota Truck Headquarters is equally as frustrated with this transaction.  We had financing secured through a lender that then proceeded to drag their feet and ask us to recontract the deal multiple times.  We didn't believe it was fair to the customer to ask that of them a 3rd time and the customer at that time had already requested to terminate the agreement.  We as a company decided to place the customers needs above anyone else and agreed to terminate the contract and sale of the vehicle.  At that time we allowed the customer to return the car and cancel the retail installment contract that was reassigned to us.  This should have made this complaint a moot point as that was agreed upon before this complaint was filed.  All requests have been fulfilled on MTH's end.

On 6/8/24 I purchased a car (2014 Maserati) from MTH Brainerd. I was supposed to have a loan through ******************* 2 weeks later the delarship asked me to come in and resign the contract/paperwork and said there was a funding issue because they didnt submit the right paperwork. I received a letter from ******** stating they denied me. I went in and resigned paperwork and continue being told by ******** I dont have a loan, *** never had a loan and they continue to tell me I have to deal with the delarship. The delarship keeps assuring me I have a loan and *** received a second letter confirming I dont have a loan. Ive had this vehicle almost 2 months with no loan, paid a $2k down payment and traded in a car I owned free and clear. Additionally, I wasnt informed until signing papers for financing the Maserati I was buying had a buyback/lemon title which appears to be the issue for financing according to the delarship.

On May 18, 2024 we purchased a vehicle from Minnesota Truck Headquarters. We brought in a vehicle on trade and agreed, verbally, that it would serve as the down payment for our purchase. The trade-in price being $2000. In the process of financing our purchase we were offered additional services/packages such as warranties, undercoatings and tonneau cover for the vehicle. We elected to take advantage of the undercoating offering at the cost of $1200. We signed our paperwork, turned over the keys to the vehicle we traded, and left the lot with the new purchase. On June 10th we received a TEXT from the dealership stating we owed them $2000.00 as a down payment to the vehicle as well as a photo of our contract. Confused, we immediately called. Our trade in was noted at the top of our contract as a trade. Further down the contract noted a cash payment of $2000, our signatures appearing at the bottom. At the time of signing, the "cash payment" we understood to be our trade-in, ironically both the same amount. We intitally disputed the $2000.00 stating the verbal agreement, even confirming with our sales person the transaction. We then sought the advice of a local attorney who reviewed the contract and sent MTH their $2000.00 down payment making a mental note to review each line better in future transactions. Along with the $2000.00 was a written request for a refund for the undercoating purchase. We spoke to both ***** and ****, several times, at the ****************** letting them know our down payment was sent and asking to cancel the future service of the undercoating with them and please refund us the $1200. They informed us they would have to check with the owner each time we called, then never follow up on our call. We have yet to have this money refunded to us or a return call confirming this transaction. If need be we are happy to reach out to the owner , *********************, ourselves.

On 9/10/2024, I contacted Mr. *** by phone.  He had told me about his purchasing experience with ***, offered some areas that in his opinion we could improve on, to which I had written down and thanked him for the honest feedback.  He then informed me that the vehicle that he purchased from *** already had factory undercoating per his personal mechanic, and that at this time the factory coating that was already on his truck would be sufficient enough for him.  We agreed on a dollar amount for the refund of his Undercoat and Rust Guard that he would be completely satisfied with.  I feel ***** as happy with the overall outcome from his initial concern.  I then let ***** know if there was ever anything else that he needed from *** in the future to please save my direct number and let me know right away.  He appreciated this and thanked me for my time and for doing the right thing.

Purchased a 2017 Prius prime on 17Feb2024. On 12May2024 contacted MTH, *****, that the title had not arrived. ***** from the title department left me a message that California DMV is behind rough 3 months and that is why I dont have a title yet. On 8Jun2024 a deer hit me while driving, the Prius is a total loss. I contacted MTH on 10Jun2024 stating I urgently need the title as my insurance company see neither me nor my lien holder is on the title. Again I was total CA is slow and there is nothing that can be done. I ask what the exact issue is with the title and can I call someone to expedite. I was told there is nothing to do but wait and if I attempt to contact California I will make it worse. Please help me get a title for the total loss vehicle so insurance can pay out and the amount stops increasing.

We at Minnesota Truck Headquarters agree that there is an issue with title work for ****** ******.  We have been in contact with ****** and are working diligently with the State of ********** to remedy the situation.  ********** is dragging its feet with issuing a new title for the vehicle that she purchased and has since totaled.  We have obtained signatures from her as the buyer and are still trying to procure signatures from the person that traded the vehicle in on the last form that California needs.  We acknowledge that this situation seems to be the hurry-up and wait kind, but we are waiting for California DMV to fix this and issue the title.

On 5-15-2024 I purchased a 1955 Chevrolet panel truck from Minnesota Truck Headquarters, I have been working with the & talking to them for about 6 or 7 months in regards to this particular truck, at one time I noticed that the wipers weren't working correctly & I was told that they were repaired, that is not accurate, they aren't working correctly, or at all. All the communications were either by phone or by text or e-mail. Also, the asking price was *****. & 3000. for a down payment & for shipping, total was supposed to be *****. including shipping to my door, I was made to pay taxes on the shipping which equals out to be $182.00. Also the shipping company that was used, damaged the rear bumper on the right rear side, which I would like to get them (the shipping company) to repair it, because it is a custom *********** is powder coated, not painted. I have been trying to get the name of the delivery company used, to address the bumper issue, I did not receive any paperwork from the delivery company. I would like Minnesota Truck Headquarters to refund the $182.00 for taxes paid, the deal was supposed to be *****. to my door, but how it was changed in the paperwork, I had to pay an additional $182.00. I didn't like how the asking price for the truck was *****. & in the paperwork the price was changed to *****. if there was any change in the price, Minnesota Truck Headquarters should be the ones to absorb the different charge.

We appreciate our customers feedback on any and all transactions. We appreciated the opportunity to serve this customers' needs and feel that we have gone above and beyond in several instances for him, over the period of more than 5 months to help him with his transaction.

    Sincerely,

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not believe that they have "gone above & beyond" to help me with the issues that they have been told about. There are some safety issues that need to be addressed to drive the vehicle safely. The horn does not work, the wipers do not work, (& I was told that they did, I rose concerns about the wipers before I purchased the vehicle & was told that they were repaired) both of these are DOT safety items. There are items that are not secured to floor, I wish I would have checked the BBB report before my purchase, with a C-- rating & after reading the complaints, I would have handled the situation differently. I am also not happy for the reason that price of the vehicle was listed for *****., & on the paperwork it was changed to *****. & there are also numerous issues that were not communicated to me, about the vehicle that I purchased.

I purchased an Alfa Remeo from MTH ON 4/3/2024. I was told that I did not have to purchase the vehicle with there extended warranty. On the day I picked up my car they told me I had no choice to have there warranty because my credit score was 551. The warranty is really expensive priced at $120 on top of my loan payment which is $448 with the warranty. I just dont feel that this is right if they are doing this to there customers.

I purchased a 2017 **** Expedition July of 2022. I've owned this vehicle for approximately 8 months and the vehicle has needed close to $10000.00 in repairs.I've contacted MTH multiple times in regards to these issues and they resolved a few of the issues and I recently just spent another $600 just to have the engine light come on yet again! This is the 3rd engine code due to the evaporation system in a *******'s time for Mth to refund my money in full! This vehicle in my opinion is a lemon and is also my opinion that they knew this but sold the vehicle anyway!

    Business Response

    Date: 05/23/2023

We at Minnesota Truck Headquarters strive for great customer satisfaction and don't like hearing when any vehicle we have sold has issues.  That being said we have addressed issues multiple times and completed a full cam phaser job of $6000 as goodwill to the customer.  This particular issue is being brought to our attention and has never been in our shop for these concerns, rather at another shop you chose.   Let me state there is no lemon law on used vehicles and definitely not on vehicles that had almost ******* miles on them at time of purchase.   At this point in time we have gone above and beyond to assist the customer.  This last instance the vehicle was not in our shop but rather at one of their shops that they stated they trusted more.  I only wanted this on record as the complaint made it seem like we couldn't fix the vehicle in our shop or that we have not followed through with it.  At this point in time we can assist with fixing the vehicle either by the customer paying or an extended service contract if applicable repairs.

My fiance and I purchased a vehicle from this dealer ( 16 GMC Acadia ) and they informed us that the vehicle had power steering issues which we appreciated. We took it on a test drive and didn't notice any other issues. We were wondering why they had marked the vehicle down $4,000 from original asking price and vehicle had 300 more miles on it then the mileage on the add in such a short time. He said they knew of no other issues with vehicle and didn't really give a good answer on why it was marked down so much. Definitely wasn't due to a power steering issue which isn't anywhere close to a $4,000 mark ******* live about an hour away from dealer and on the way home after we bought the vehicle, and after the car had a chance to really warm up, we noticed transmission issues. We have been in contact with the general manager of dealer explaining we refuse to believe they didn't know anything about transmission issues considering car had ********************************************************************* such a very short time they had the vehicle for sale on lot. The general manager **************** emailed us and said he will get ahold of us soon for a resolution on what they could do. That was two weeks ago with many emails and phone calls being unanswered.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/06/2023

Although the Acadia was purchased as-is and disclosed properly we are in communication with the customer and are assisting with the transmission issue.  They have gotten their own estimate to fix the transmission issue  and we have decided to assist them in saving more than half of the repair through one of our shops.   We were never trying to hide anything and our assumption why there was ************************************************************************** it was a sight unseen trade.  We value all of our customers and the business they give us!  We believe transparency and the truth are the easiest things to have in this business that at times has the reputation of having the opposite.  We have come to a common resolution to get their issues fixed and would like the record to state that we are all in agreeance!
