1 starMy old employer switched over to Securian, so the little money I had put into a 401K was put on a rollover plan. I have not touched any of that money and all of Securian's fees have essentially left me with no balance, so I sent them two inquiries last week to figure out what I can do to close my account with them ASAP and they have not gotten back to me at all despite saying that they'd respond within one business day. If they're busy or overwhelmed and take an extra day or two to get back to me, that's one thing - but not responding to me after I reached out to them twice is in poor taste. 1 starWorst insurance company to do business with. The agents don't listen and don't make correct setups of insurance policies. The customer service team is limited and don't always relay the information correctly. The over bill you and if you don't pay attention you pay incorrect amounts.This company is nothing but a fraud, if you have a choice go find another company.I explicity signed up my spouse/child for AD&D, these idiots failed to document it and I did not catch it. Because it was a port I only had 90 days, no 6 months later when I am paying another payment, I can't make any changes to add my spouse/child due to their mistake.When I brought this up, they refused to do anything about it, putting the blame on me.Their documents and tools to signup for insurance are ****, they don't work and are not flexible. Their agents won't call you and ask any clarifying questions, they just take the data and make a best guess, then you have to fight to fix their stupid decisions.Review fromJulie B.

A BIG FAT -00000!!!! Underwriters at Securian denied me supplemental life insurance through my company when I signed up for my benefit enrollment. I called and the so-called "manager" said that there was "something in my health history" which triggered the denial. I don't smoke, drink, have had no accidents, no surgeries - only Type 1 Diabetes for 32 years. She hemmed & hawed ..... hummmm.... when I asked if that's what it was. DISCRIMINATION AND I WILL FILE A DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT AGAIN THIS COMPANY! Like every review I've read, this company is a SCAM! STAY FAR AWAY FROM SECURIAN FOR LIFE INSURANCE OR ANY OTHER CLAIMS OR HIRE AN ATTORNEY ASAP!!! Securian - I hope you read this a weep! AND PLEASE DO NOT I repeat DO NOT give me any BS answer because you lied through your teeth and you are going to pay for it duly through the courts. So, carry on with your SCAMS and I am actually grateful I NEVER got supplemental life insurance through you and I am going to reach out to my HR organization and benefits team and let them know EXACTLY what you did to me. My company is a Fortune 500 and they will drop Securian like a bad habit. Go suck sand and get ready for the repercussions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Securian Financial Group, Inc.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. NEVER WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I got into a horrible motorcycle accident in which I died, had to be resuscitated, and was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY BECAUSE I DIDN'T TAKE ANY PICTURES OF THE MOTORCYCLE. I WAS DEAD. THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO.Securian Financial Group, Inc.

1 starOn January of 2017 Securian Financial Group illegally terminated my subcontract that was setup through Harbenger Partners. I was not an employee of either company but a sole employee of my own company. During the exit interview they used the term 'staff augmentation' which would imply I was either an employee of Harbenger Partners or Securian Financial Group and entitled to all benefits and bonuses associated with being said an employee which I never received. I was simply told on a Monday morning my contracted was terminated without warning. The full reasoning given was that I was leaving early on Fridays which they did not like and also criticized my reasonings for taking personal, unpaid, time off. However I was not authorized to work over 40 hours in a week, which I did. I had organized my schedule in such a way that I was done with my 40 hours of work by mid day on Friday so I was able to enjoy the summer weekends a bit more. The work done was required to be done in office on their machines and I was not authorized to do remote work nor was I given remote access to their systems. I also never received anything but praise for the work I was doing my any technical professionals I worked with in Securian Financial Group. Due to the stress and anxiety of the entire situation I had to push it out of my mind for my own mental state as I did not have the time nor resources to deal with it at the time. Horrible. Needed to extract some money for an emergency situation. First, with a direct deposit to my bank which didn't happen and they blamed the bank. Then, I called and requested a check which wS supposedly sent to me but I just never got it. They wanted to send another one. I'm waiting a few more days, but if it doesnt show up, will ask for proof they even sent it. This is ridiculous. The customer service representative wouldn't confirm a date, just said she was going off the date I requested it. How are these people in business?Securian Financial Group, Inc.

1 starMy review is repetitive with so many others. This is a horrible company that just wants to rob you blind. They never notified me of a huge, huge huge increase in the premium. I’m sure they got the direct mail returned to them as undeliverable, but they did nothing to follow up to let me know that my increase would be in the thousands of dollars. All they care about is profit. Good luck trying to cancel the account! It is an ordeal. Any company that makes it that hard to stop doing business with them cannot be trusted. Please keep this in mind before you give any of your hard earned money to these robbers.Review fromChris G

Actually I can't comment on their customer service since none of their phone numbers work. Everytime I call I get a "Your call can't be completed at this time, please try again later." I get this on every phone number I can find for them so I sent an email to them using a link on their website and got an error message.Securian Financial Group, Inc.
