On August 30, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(1)(2)(6)(8)(9); 326B.197; 326B.33, subds. 1, 2, 14, 15, 16; 326B.809; 326B.84 (2)(4)(14)(15)(16) (2022) and Minn. Rules 2891.0080; 2891.0040, subps 1D and 1H and 2891.0050, subp. 1C (2021).
Under the terms of the Order, the business agreed to: cease and deist from performing or offering to perform electrical work in Minnesota; have all it's contracts and change orders be in writing; ensure that all subcontractors or independent contractors have the required licenses and/or registrations to perform all work they are contracted or hired to do for the business; and to provide reasonable supervision for all employees, agents, subcontractors and salespersons. The business also agreed to ensure that all required permits are obtained at or before beginning work; to fully comply with all inspection requirements and cooperate with inspection reports and correction notices and before requesting final payment from consumers, the business will ensure all work is complete and has passed final permit inspections. The business will also pay $9,000.00 of a $19,750.00 fine, with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
