Had a 68rfe rebuilt by Minnesota Master Builders. They claimed they put a new drum in the transmission and put new clutches and steels in the transmission. I did not get an itemized list of parts upon picking up my transmission. They told me I had a 90 day warranty but when I picked up the transmission the "receipt" said 30 day warranty. He told me one price of $850.00 and then it went to $2200.00 when I picked it up. I installed the transmission and the transmission did not work. The transmission would not ingage into gear and would give me transmission codes I didn't have before. Talked to them and they said it was something I did during install. I have a diesel shop with 2 locations in minnesota and have been in business for 30 years, I know what I am doing. I called Minnesota Master Builders immediately when we discovered the transmission was no good. They did not call me back, they finally got back to me after I threatened a lawsuit. They maintain that they did rebuilt the transmission even though I had to bring it to another transmission shop to have it rebuilt. The new transmission shop told me nothing was replaced other than a few gaskets. The new transmission shop said the clutches looked like they have never been replaced. I installed the transmission and did NOT drive it. Once I was able to speak with MMB they said they buy core transmissions and use parts out of them. I have to move forward with a lawsuit because they refuse to help me out with it. I am now $7400.00 into a transmission that should have been working correctly the first time. I wanted to work with MMB on this matter but they refuse to help with their mistake. Bad customer service, refusal to correct their mistake and blaming the customer is not the way to handle an issue like this.
