*** Pet Owners: Please read this before going to VSS Manchester.I brought my dog Barley to VSS for a dental issue. They sedated her just to inspect her tooth and immediately walked away after dropping her off.She collapsed in front of me.Her tongue was hanging out, she couldnt stand, and she lost control of her body. I gave her a Russian command shes followed her whole life. She tried to obey and her body couldnt ********* one stayed to monitor her. No vitals. No heads-up.They just left her there like she was nothing.Even worse, they kept calling her he despite me correcting them multiple times. That told me everything I needed to know.Later I was told its a slab fracture. But at that moment? I was alone, on the floor, trying to keep her breathing while they focused on upselling meds she didnt need. This wasnt care. This was neglect disguised as ************ sharing this to protect other dogs from being treated like a number. If you love your pet like family, dont let them end up like Barley.

VSS West over in the *******, ** area is fantastic! Thats where we had our dogs ACL surgery and we were very happy with them. The surgeon was wonderful and staff was very nice. I would highly recommend that location. VSS location in ******* was not quite as friendly when it came to staff and I had some scheduling issues, but they managed to accommodate me for a surgery follow up regardless. They did seem busier than the location our dog had surgery though, so I dont hold that against them as Im sure cases do need to be prioritized.Overall I would recommend them. My dog had what I would say is a complex surgery (ACL reconstruction) and she had no complications, the surgeon was very honest and informative ahead of time as well. About 1.5 years later my dog is thriving and has full use of her leg again!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE - took my pet for excessive vomiting - he needed an anti nausea medicine - they took him back right away and didn't come talk to us for ***** mins when they did they came to get to know his history and in the meantime tell us they gave him a sedative and guessed on his weight - What? How much did they give him? For never being sedated, animal having trouble breathing this should have been discussed before any course of action was taken 30 mins later his heart stopped. Should have never gave this business a dime and never brought my pet here because now we have an emptiness in our hearts.

Do NOT bring your dog to the ******** location. I brought my dog in hoping to just get some pain meds for a cut she had on her leg.The vet said she was going to just clip some skin around the cut and then put in a couple stitches and it would cost about $450. I thought that was fair. The vet then came back and said she could not ***** it because it was by her knee, and there would be too much movement for the stitches to stay. Again, that sounded reasonable. But then the vet showed me the huge hole she cut in my dog's leg, and told me they would need they dog to stay with them for several days so they could put a special bandage on the dog and it would cost "a couple thousand dollars".I told them to give me my dog back and I took her home with a huge hole in her leg. I went to my regular vet the next day and got the special bandage on for $150. But now my poor dog has to wear a cone and a special leg sleeve while she waits for the terrible hole in her leg to heal which caused by this emergency clinic. If you go to their website and read my ****** review you will pics of how this vet mauled my dog.

EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! SOLELY FOCUSED ON MONEY. I brought my dog in because the vet could not.get her in after hours. The doctor barely spent any time with her, and then threatened all sorts of maladies would occur if I did not leave her with them. I left her there and they made minimal calls to let me know what was going on with her. I had to drive up there to see what was going on. The next day, I received a call at 8:40am telling me they were going to run another test and would call with results. When I didn't hear from them all day, I called at 4:45 pm to.inquire about my pet's well being. I was told by a snarky secretary to be patient and the doctor would call me. At 7:45, I drove up there to see if my dog was still alive. I was greeted by three rude receptionists ASSURING the vet had called, however, there are no missed calls or messages on my phone. The bill was over $3,000 and I was treated horribly. I can only hope my pet wasn't treated the same!

I have never written a review - good or bad, but I feel this is necessary.I was referred by my dogs vet to take him to VSS for more specialized treatment. She removed a blister spot on his upper left gum. Sent it for a biopsy and it came back cancerous. I immediately contacted VSS and my dogs vet sent all of her notes and the results of the biopsy to them. The first appointment I was able to get was for 5 weeks later.Okay, the waiting was nerve wrecking, but since they are the only show in town for such speciality care I had no choice. Finally the day came for Maxs appointment (8/31/23). I was so hopeful they would be able to help him. I assumed they would take a scan of that area in his mouth to determine if surgery was required. The DR came in the exam room where ******* were waiting. He didnt introduce himself. He just asked why we were there.I told him **** vet had sent his history and explained the surgery she had done on him.Biopsy showed cancer,This is where it gets unbelievably CRAZY!He didnt pick *** up and put him on the exam table (no tech was in the room).ALL he said is PINPOINT the exact spot. I opened Maxs mouth (while he was still on the floor) and showed him the upper gum where the surgery was done.Again he said ***********. I was confused and didnt understand what more I could do to satisfy his request. I asked if he could scan that area to see if cancer was deeper. He said they didnt have a scanner at that location. A place that does surgery.. doesnt have a scanner?! AGAIN he said I had to PINPOINT the exact spot.By this time I was so frustrated I was thinking. is this guy for real?He did not touch ***, did not lay one finger on him for the $150.00 fee which by the way you have to pay in advance before they will even schedule you. I left there more upset and confused than when we went in.I called Maxs vet and she was appalled.I am taking *** to ****** Veterinary Hospital next week.

We took our dog in for surgery on his leg. $4,000. When we picked him up the surgeon told us there was an issue with one of the screws not fitting correctly, but everything should be fine. During the healing process he was limping. We made an appointment to get an additional xray. The technician there refused to do an xray or let us speak to a doctor. We were told to wait until the final follow up. So they had a tech acting as a board certified surgeon. We went to ************ and spoke again with the surgeon. He indicated everything was good to go, and again there was a discussion if the problems with the s**** could cause an issue. Within two weeks he was limping severely, so we took him to our regular vet. Turns out the screws are coming out, the bone is not properly aligned, and the entire surgery has to be repeated. The surgeon KNEW there was a problem and yet proceeded to close him up.We are following up with getting another surgeon and deciding on how to proceed. VSS needs to take responsibility for this.

Extremely unprofessional. The staff is incredibly rude, rough and does not know how to operate a professional office space. There is not a soul who is on the same page. They will leave, as we have witnessed and heard, time and time again, any animal to die outside on their sidewalk in the 100 degree weather and sun. They simply do not care about animals. Their staff is constantly rotating and so inconsistent that there are no rules or guidelines enforced. Money is the goal.A clients animal will die if taken here. The staff are not knowledgeable when caring for sick animals. Emergencies mean nothing to these people. As our own vet pointed out 'they will allow your pet to bleed out on the sidewalk until you hand over a credit card while authorizing any charges'.

Unfortunately, this complaint is just filled with accusations and generalizations. There are no specific actions or requests we can address. Everything written here is the customer's perception and they did not give any specific reasons they felt that way that we can address. We are a veterinary hospital and our sole purpose is to care for animals, there is a cost associated with that. We cannot offer services for free, but that is not our main priority. If this customer has some specific examples of what was said or done that made them feel this way we would gladly discuss that feedback and they should contact our office to do so.
