With this last snow storm, I answered an ad on ******** to have my drive cleared. It's a 24 foot 2 car driveway. I was quoted $70/hr/man. Never did i expect to see 5 men arrive, spent less than 30 minutes on my driveway. Today got a bill of $370. After complaints, got the bill to $280. The drive has been shoveled partially, with salt put down. I cannot say i trust this company.

I'm shocked by this review. i sent my crew out in one of the worst storms we have had in a very long time to remove ice from our customers driveway , she was quoted 70 per hour per man , we showed up did the job , billed her the next day and she complained that we did not clarify how many men where coming, so we discounted her bill , and then she leaves this review. if one person was removing ice by themselves it would take all day long , we were out trying to get everyone cleared out as quickly as possible. i also pay my guys a living wage they have familys , they are not children. this is a rediculious review. if i could leave a customer review , she would get a 0.

I have had Hoffman concrete work on many of my other homes and projects in the past, as well as my current home and every time I work with them, I am met with Kind heartedness, smiles, and a good work ethic. They are an absolute joy to be around. From the concrete crew, to the office team, and the owner himself all made me feel comfortable and communicated with me throughout the entire project. So I never had to worry about the project at all. They were very informative, knowledgeable, and true masters of their craft. The estimator set my expectations incredibly high and I must say they not only met them but surpassed them. 10 out of 10 would recommend ?? Thanks again to all the guys at Hoffman concrete for making my space a better place.

We had a highly disappointing and frustrating experience with Hoffman Flatwork. We hired them for paver installation on our patio and around our pool, agreeing to a contract and paying the deposit. Shortly before the project was to start, they presented us with a change order due to an alleged underestimation of the project's scope, which nearly doubled the cost of the project.Despite multiple visits to our property by their estimator **** and owner, **** Hoffman, over a couple of months, they failed to accurately assess the project before materials and equipment were delivered. We dealt primarily with **** and we found him to be very harsh and difficult to communicate with. Besides treating the homeowners like customers and apologizing for the initial scope oversight, **** blamed it all on our general contractor for our backyard. He cut us off when talking with us, seemed very agitated, played the victim, and we feel he really took it out on us. After these interactions with **** as well as the "change orders", we did not feel comfortable moving forward despite him telling us "you will lose money if you don't go through us." We terminated our agreement, and we asked him to pay for the material that was already delivered with the money we had provided in our deposit, provide lien waivers, and refund our remaining deposit. Since the project had not started and the only work done was moving their equipment out we felt this was reasonable. It took **** over two weeks to refund our deposit, and he still kept $3,600. We offered to let him keep a reasonable $500 or so for an equipment moving fee. **** was very hostile, blamed everything on our general contractor, and took his anger and frustration with this situation out on us - completely inappropriate customer service. ********************** cannot be completely blameless in this. Their lack of professionalism and poor communication have caused us significant inconvenience, and they still have a good chunk of our deposit.

we have a contract with a general contractor named **** ******** remodeling for this project.our scope of work was to install a paver patio/pool deck (all one level, same grade) using Grand Discover pavers with a border around the outside perimeter using a Majestic color border paver. **** ******** was suppose to install the pool couping before we arrived. After **** hired us i ordered all the materials and had them delivered to jobsite and placed in the *********** this time **** was just digging out for the inground pool. our office got a call that **** would be ready for us in a week, and that there was going to be a change order because **** sub contractors set the pool one foot too low. so we mobalized our equipment to be dropped off at the jobsite. in the process of dropping off our equipment , we noticed there was no pool couping on the pool. so my project manager called **** and asked when the poolcouping was going to be installed. **** ***lied that the pool couping was installed , i explained that it was not, what he thought was the pool couping was the liner being rolled over the top of the pool. once **** realized it wasnt installed , **** told us to just install the the grand discover pavers for the couping. i told him that i wouldnt do that, that pool couping has to have a bull nose so that its smooth, not rough cut edges that someone could get cut on. next i seen that **** had backfilled the pool with screenings , and that there was a 3' to 4' drop off about 5' from where our new paver pool deck was going to be going , and the rock was already starting to wash away. i told **** that we needed to install another retaining wall to prevent erosion of the subgrade that would eventually make our new paver pool deck fail, and if he didnt want to do it, that i needed a waiver to protect myself from future problems due to the subgrade. so a day or two went by no response from ****, so i went out and met with the homeowners.i explained that there was no pool couping,i showed them the subgrade starting to wash away, and where a retaining wall was needed .we went over the step down area and how that was going to lay in there, i told them i would start looking around for a pool couping that would match ,and material for the step down and material for a additional retaining wall. after a couple days ,i met with the homeowners and showed them the pool couping i could find, one was in town the other i would have to order. i showed them step down material and retaining wall material, the homeowner approved the material choices , i ordered the couping and paid for rush shipping, was told 2 weeks for delivery. i had the wall and the step down material delivered the next day. i met with the sales *** and was able to have him make a special trip to drop off a actual sample of the pool couping we ordered so they could actually see what it looked like. after the homeowners agreed on all materials choices i sent over a new proposal with all the change orders for the new scope of work. homeowners requested to meet again to go over the changes in scope of work, and pricing, so i scheduled a meeting met with ******** and his wifes father,i explained that none of this was my fault, seths sub contractor installed the pool too low, which caused the step down, and that **** didnt install the pool couping that we agreed upon in our contract, and that a retaining wall was needed to secure the way **** backfilled the pool because the sub-grade was already starting to wash away and that the new paver pool deck would fail down the line, they stated it was alot of extra money and they wanted to talk it over. the father in law agreed with me that **** needed to pay for the extra cost. this whole time **** not once was in town left me to do his job to try and figure out all his mistakes and design a whole new scope of work. i explained before i left that if they removed me from the project that i was getting paid for the two weeks i did all the leg work trying to figure out materials and designing how the new scope with the different elevations and everything. i got notice that they wanted to terminate me from the work, and that they wanted lien waivers and a refund. i responded and said ok.i went by my supplier and asked for a expidited billing because im on a 30 day net billing. that took a couple days , once i got my bill i went upand dropped off a check for materials, but the accounts payable employee was out sick, icalled the homeowners and let them know .after 3 days i finally recieved the paid lien waives called the homeowners let them know i could drop off the lien waivers and refund check on friday early afternoon after i got done pouring on another project.i stopped by around 1pm knocked on the door ***** answered so i left the paperwork and check inbetween the screen door and the front door. i then got a call wanting a full refund and i told them no. and explained that **** should of came back to town and did his job instead of making me do it. i could of been building another project the whole time this was going on, but instead i was doing seths job trying to find materials needed to be able to get this project started, thats what a general contractor does not point the blame on someone ******* time is valuable too! Bottom Line! **** ******** remodeling messed this job up and left me to try and figure everything out. i paid for all the materials, gave homeowners paid lien waivers, and refunded a check minus my time for doing seths job. i found out they are good friends with **** ******** and thats why they are bad mouthing me. i also know who is finishing the project for them, we are good friends, this was no fault of my company, and this homeowner is not telling the truth, they know it , and so do i .
