I am making payments on a vehicle from them. I work for children's division and BEFORE making this purchase I told them what ever vehicle I got had to be safe and reliable because I transport children for the state. They said they understood and would make sure it was. This car has had nothing but problems they want me to pay to fix on top of the 400 a month car payment. The car has had these issues since I drove it off their lot. Issues that can se unsafe conditions like shorts in system causing tail lights to go out (I was rear ended after telling them about the issue and they refused to fix it) and it keeps saying it’s out of gas and stalling out while driving ( they want me to pay to fix it) I have been telling them about this issue. And bad brakes, been telling them about this as well. They are selling dangerous vehicles and this needs stopped. I will also be contacting the courts and an attorney to see what my avenues are. I rely on safe and reliable transportation for my job and they knew this. They took advantage.

On August 23, 2021 **** ********** purchased a 2006 Chevrolet cobalt for 150.36 every two weeks which equals 300.72 monthly. She only put down 600 down that day with the first payment of 150.36. This totaled 750.36 for that day. She brought the cheapest car on the lot at the time.  In her compliant she says that she pays 400 a month. I can provide proof she doesn’t. The bi-weekly payments also include sales tax for the tags.  Branson Auto Sales includes an inhouse warranty on the internal motor and transmission for 1 year or 15,000 miles.
For the next complaint about the lights and the fuel.  On November 09, 2021, the vehicle was in the shop for a check engine light. Miss firing and the gauge is messing up intermittent. The driver side turn signal light was out.  At this visit we replaced Ignition control Module, spark plug, and ignition coil, We also check the lights and put a bulb in the signal light. We also replaced the stabilizing bar link because it was loose This repair alone would have cost a customer 537.81. We did this at no charge. We told them at this time that they need to replace the fuel pump to make the fuel gauge work accurately, this is a known problem with Chevrolet vehicles they have a floating fuel gauge. We also put a bulb in the turn signal for no cost.
On December 15, 2021, the customer’s husband came in for this appointment. The vehicle was seen for the signal light and the taillight on the driver’s side was out. This was the visit when we found out that the light had been replaced multiple times by the customer and once by us. We told him that the wiring harness needed to be replaced, because it was causing a short in the front headlight. The rear taillight was out due to the front short, it was causing it not to work. The vehicle also had a foggy driver front headlight.  We told him that we would replace the wiring harness for the socket of the headlight that was 36.00 for free, but If the customer wanted a new headlight, we would pay $36.00 of it. We ordered the light and customer picked it up on the 22nd. The customer didn’t want to wait for an appointment to let us put it in.  The second compliant was when the fuel gauge goes below a ½ a tank it would act up. It was only Intermittent issue. Also, on that appointment we couldn’t get the car to reproduce the fuel issue. When we looked at this car the check engine light was not on. ****** reminded the customer that to fix the fuel gauge the fuel pump would have to replaced. ****** talked to the husband, he also said he hasn’t gotten the vehicle to act up on him since we fixed the spark plugs and ignition module. ****** also told him if they buy the fuel pump we would only charge them labor to put the fuel pump in.
In conclusion, Branson Auto sales did all the repairs for free expect for the rest of cost of the headlight. We only supply warranty on the internal motor and transmission. None of this would have been covered under this warranty. The owner covered it anyways because we try to do what is right. If the customer wants to return the vehicle that will be fine if payments are paid and no damage to the vehicle per lease agreement. If **** wants another vehicle, they will have return the cobalt and start a new lease on a new vehicle. We can provide proof of any documentation to support this information that has been  provided.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
They have been told numerous times about the fuel issues. It is stalling out when it says there is no gas in it when I know there is. They had maybe four vehicles on their lot when I was there. They did not have anything really that was in the size vehicle I wanted aside from the cobalt. They could at least be fully honest. As I stated before, my issue is that I told them I needed a SAFE and RELIABLE vehicle. They assured me they only sell vehicles that are safe. Bad brakes, short in electrical causing blinker/tail lights to go out and fuel sensor issues causing the vehicle to stall driving down the road are NOT safe. I just want this vehicle made safe or swapped with one that is safe without having to pay another down payments. They know full well there is no damage to the vehicle since it has been taken to them numerous times for the same issues as well as when I got rear ended while at a full stop waiting to turn prior to the short being fixed. I don't feel asking for a vehicle to be safe when purchased is too much to ask, if it is, then the ethics of the car lot need examined as a whole. Would they want their spouse and children in an unsafe vehicle?

      Sincerely,

      **** **********
