I purchased a 2007 Subaru legacy. It drove fine during the test drive for 30 min. We like the car a bought it. Cost was 4000 with a 6 month warranty in case anything broke. My son drove it from independence MO to Linn MO, about 200 miles, and it blew a head gasket. Cost of repair was 7000 because the Warranty company would not cover the cost because the shop showed evidence that the dealer put stop gap in the radiator and knew the radiator was bad. I called he shop and they will not give me a refund. I just want my $4000 dollars back along with the 385 dollars for the taxes and title. The car was driven for 1 day. 1 day and it was done. I just want a full refund, now, now, not later. And the dealer needs to get the car from Columbia, mo.

*** ******** purchased a 2007 subaru on 12-26-23. He test drove the car, purchased the car As-Is from Cars Plus Credit. He did purchase an aftermarket warranty, 6 month 6000 miles with a $1500 liability limit. He says they will not pay the $1500. If that is the case, I will either negotiate the warranty company to pay or refund the $300 for the warranty. We are not and will not be responsible for any repairs.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the repair shop stated the dealer filled the radiator with stop gap and knew the vehicle was going to break down. The dealership knowingly sold a defective vehicle that didn’t even last one day. They covered up defective radiator by pouring stop gap in the radiator and filling it half full. The vehicle was not able to show any signs of being defective when it was test driven because they covered it up. If they would have said it needed a new radiator I never would have bout the car. This is not how you do business. The car only lasted 200 miles in less than one day, and it blew a head gasket because the dealership covered up the defective radiator. Now the cost to fix $7000 dollars which far exceeds the value of the car. I did not pay 300 for the warranty, I paid 500. He will not even meet me in the middle. I offered to deliver the vehicle to him for a partial refund and he said no. He said he would only see if he can get 1500 in repairs done which does nothing because the repair is 7,000 dollars. If he gives me 2000 for the car I will bring it to him. I don’t even know what to do with a car with a blown motor except to junk it. I have no where to put it as I can’t even sell it till the title comes in in 4 more weeks. He pretty much is telling me that I got ripped off and he doesn’t want to make it right. 4000 down the drain after 1 day of driving it. This is not how you do business. They knew it was faulty and they sold it anyway.

    Sincerely,

    **** ********

I bought a used 2009 surburban. Yes I understand with used cars there maybe problems. I purchased the warranty for it. But of course none of my problems are covered under the warranty. First thing was before leaving the check engine light came on was told it was a bad sensor so they took some money off the car for that great! But ohh it’s so much more like the catalytic converter reading bad the back windshield wiper stop working the headlight went out and no one will fix the headlight because you have to remove the bumper that I only discovered was held on by zip ties once I left and it basically fell off so I had to tap it back up!! It will not pass inspection now because of these things and because I work and missed a appointment that was never a set time it was a “drop it off in the morning “ situation they like no we can’t help you!! The car is squeaky so loud when I drive! Like they are doing illegal inspections passing those cars through because they have that MO inspection thing to do so! We all know headlights and wipers must work. Also back tires smaller then front ones, trunk sensors read open, interior lights stay on untill I shoved a piece of paper in it to keep the button pushed all this just happened as soon as I signed the paperwork it was a wild experience. But it was the end of the day and I truly regret I rushed into buying that truck!

In regards to ******* ***** she purchased the 2009 Chevrolet Suburban on 08/23/2023. About a week later ******* called saying her headlights had quit working, we set an appointment for her to bring the car in to get them looked at however she did not show up. She then again called days later after not showing up for her appointment and we told her she purchased the vehicle AS-IS, we offered to look at the issue but she did not show up. *******l test drove the vehicle and everything worked at the time. She was more than welcomed to take it to a shop of her choice before buying. She came back and wanted to purchase the car, as she stated she may have rushed into it, this being her choice.
She purchased the vehicle AS-IS with no dealer warranty however she did purchase a service contract through ASC warranty. I have attached all necessary signed papers. Thank you

NO appointment was set!!! *** said "bring the car in the morning". No date or time. I work and yes when I called I told *** what I would be doing. When I left there the headlights did not work. They come on but HAlF of the light is not working. I bought the lights then called the dealership once I got the lights so it would not be an issue. Im not asking you to replace the lights. Im only asking that you put the lights in because no dealership will put them in due you guys rigging the bumper up with zip ties that was hidden so they dont want to be held accountable for the bumper if it wont go back on !!!

I'm a disabled mother of 3, I get paid once a month from disability, I made all of this very clear when I got my vehicle in February and they said no problem. Paid 1000$ down, but they didn't set up the payments for monthly. Fast forward to now my vehicle was repossessed, and they are telling me I have to pay 6500$ to get my vehicle back, when I just paid 400$ on the 9th of April, I have the reciept. And it says my next payment is for 80$ on the 15th. I only get paid once a month. I have emails and other things as proof they were aware of the circumstances. And if it was not okay they should not have taken my money. My ex-husband was with me and inside when the conversations all took place. I struggle enough to get by now my vehicle has been stolen.

Purchased a car( 07 Cadillac Escalade) on 01/24 & asked why two lights were on- Service stabilitrack & service air bag & was told that it was fine & probably just a bad sensor, so they didn’t want to look at it. Two weeks later- 02/07 the car starts acting up & lights coming on the dash & reducing power. The lights that came on were stabilitrack off, check right rear tire pressure, service airbag, engine power reduced, service traction control, & service stabilitrack. The car is undrivable & we are expected to keep making payments on the car & repair it ourselves. We traded in a 2016 jeep patriot sport for a down payment of $3000 & if we turn the Escalade back in, we lose out on our down payment & help patriot. We have asked if they would cover some of the costs & been told no. We asked if we could bring back the car & have our down payment back & been told no as well.

My son, ****** ******* purchased a car from them in cash on July 16, 2022. Less than a month later (Aug 1, 2022 to be exact) the transmission went out while he was 4 hours away from home. He paid $7,000 cash for this car. Of course it’s a used car, and no warranty, which comes with risk, but come on. We had to drive to him, tow the car back to a mechanic and find out that the entire transmission is bad. When my husband called to see if they would be willing to help him at all they basically laughed and said, oh well. A new transmission is almost $5,000. We have all the relevant paperwork, including the estimate from ***** and can provide it if necessary.

Ms. ******* Purchased a 2007 Nissan Maxima on 7/16/22 with 941696 miles. The car was test driven by the son, we held the car for 5 days and Mr.******* came with the son and test drove the car again. The car drove perfect. The *******'s were offered multiple options of Warranties, and declined even the least expensive. They are fully aware that they purchased the car AS-IS. I have their signature on 4 documents that make it very clear they purchased the car AS-IS, "and can supply supporting documents".  Warranties are a very important part of purchasing a preowned car,  there are going to be repairs on every car. If you take that risk and can pay for repairs that will come, Fine, If not purchase a warranty.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

My son did in fact test drive the car, however it does not have 941,696 miles on it. They also did NOT do a second test drive the day they purchased the car. If it does, in fact, have that many miles on it I would like to see where you notified us of that before we purchased.

We do not have any copies of signed documents from the sellers stating that the purchase was being made "AS-IS" and I look forward to your supplying us with those four documents as you have stated. I would also like to see where you posted the Buyer's Guide while the car was on the lot, and where that Buyer's Guide has been supplied to the purchaser, as we don't have that either. I would also like to have a copy of the inspection report for this car that was used for Missouri.

While we understand that there is always an assumed risk to purchasing a used car, we believe that you knew this car was having trouble (we have pulled the repair information and note that the radiator was replaced, the transmission was worked on and none of this was disclosed to us before purchase) and sold the car in bad faith. The fact that the car was driven for 15 days and no more than 500 miles before it required $4500 in repairs is absolutely unacceptable and outrageous. WE have the money for the repair, and we are paying for the repair, however to expect an 18 year old to have it is ridiculous. Further, your response to a customer who is seeking out your assistance is to laugh, say oh well, and now provide a flippant "that's why you should buy a warranty" shows your lack of business sense. This could have easily been a situation where you could have apologized for selling a car that broke down, made arrangements to fix it at your dealership, or swapped it out for another car. Heck, even offering to pay a little bit would have gone a long way.

We have filed a complaint with the state attorney general's consumer affairs office and look forward to you supplying the documentation you have stated you have in your possession to support your claim that the purchaser's (my husband and son) were told it was sold "AS-IS" 4 times and declined a warranty. Thank you.

We are looking for all copies of the document signed by both buyers, my husband and ******, which we do not have. I will say again, we await your submission of the signed documents you state you have in your possession through THIS platform, where we have been communicating. You will understand that our faith in you and your dealership is such that we are not interested in visiting your dealership ever again. The documents you have provided so far are not duly executed contracts as they are not signed by all parties. Again, I would not be asking for them if I had them in my possession. You say you do, so we need them uploaded here, where we have made our complaint. When we previously asked your business for support we were laughed at and hung up on, so we will wait for you to upload them in this complaint

I am rejecting this response because:

I am in receipt of your repeated claim that we have these documents, and I am going to tell you again, the documents you submitted to us have not been signed by both named buyers and the seller. We are requesting the documents that have been signed by BOTH buyers and seller. Those would be the duly executed contracts that you are claiming we have in our possession, which we do not. It seems like you also do not have them, as you are refusing to provide them to us. Therefore, the "As-Is" status that you claim we were notified of, we were not, as the buyers did not sign to that effect.
