I had work on the whole exterior of my house (roof, siding, gutters) due to a hail storm & I hired ************ ************ ******** to get everything repaired as a filed an insurance claim. On 5-2-22, the siding job started & Pro Line Construction and Finishings LLC found that I had two areas of wood rot which needed to be removed & replaced. I knew that these were incidental costs not covered by my insurance claim. The owner, ***** ******* never gave me a price break down on materials, how much for labor or any other charges BEFORE THE REPAIRS WERE MADE. There was no communication, no pictures sent to me showing damages, no written estimate to completing the wood rot removal & repairs & I had no idea to what this cost was going to be. AND, he charged for extra replacement of rotted wood on a window trim (which shouldn't have been replaced because this trim was already wrapped by a previous window replacement) & he also charged me for replaced rotted fascia boards, to which his worker damaged upon tearing off of the old siding. All of this rotted work was completed on day one of the project, again, without my knowledge of a total cost or with an agreed price to pay. He simply didn't communicate with me & I was available to communicate with him everyday before I had to go to work at 2pm. I have a small ranch house & what should have taken about 5 days to complete, ended up taking 2 1/2 weeks to complete due to the fact that Pro Line's crew had to be fired because they were drinking alcohol while on the clock. *****, never took responsibility for his crew, he didn't communicate with my contractor well & I feel his extra charges were given to me out of retaliation. I reached out to ***** & asked him to adjust his bill & remove the his extra charges (replacing rotted window trim & fascia boards) but he never did. His bill is for $744.06 I feel that I shouldn't have to pay his bill because we never agreed to any pricing and I didn't sign any of his documents.

    Tell us why here..

I hired ************ ************ ******** to get all of my exterior home repairs completed.  They repaired my roof and replaced all of the guttering.   Then, they brought in Pro Line Construction and Finishings LLC to take care all of the siding needs.  If there were going to be any incidentals, like wood rot, yes, Pro Line Construction was going to repair it. I was just surprised that there was no communication to how much these incidentals were going to cost.  Never did ***** ******* contact me with any costs, he didn't provide pictures documenting any damages, we both did not agree to any pricing for a presented bill and I didn't sign any of his documents authorizing any type of payment agreement.

Pro Line had every opportunity to reach out to me and communicate the costs, but ***** ******* from Pro Line, never talked to me and I was home until 2pm every day before I went to work on my night shift.   I talked to my contractor and he told me it's just wrong to present a bill after a project has been completed with no guidelines to how the costs were compiled. Not only was his bill overpriced, but it was incorrect  as he charged me for extra services which I should not have been charged for (like replacing wood rot on a window trim that  was previously wrapped on a previous window replacement and charged me to replace facia boards, which were damaged by his own worker when he removed my old siding).

I would love to talk to someone within your office tomorrow morning.  I can be reached at *************  ****** **** ********

In response to the complaint made against Proline.  First I would like to correct a few mistakes on the facts.  We started the job on 4/25/2022 and finished up on 5/10/2022.  Regarding the drinking on the job, the individuals are not Proline employees but subcontractors hired to complete the siding job for the customer.  Also to clarify they were not drinking on the property while working on the project, they had a drink at lunch while off the property.  That being said I totally agree that it was a bad decision on their part and they were rightfully not allowed to come back on the job that day.  As far as the wood rot issues and the charges for the repairs.  The customer stopped my crew from working when we first found some wood rot underneath the existing siding that was on the house.  He did not want us moving forward until I was on site and we discussed how we would handle any wood rot that was uncovered.  The conversation took place between myself, the customer, and the roofing contractor who hired us to handle the siding.  The customer made it very clear he did not want wood rot covered up and wanted it replaced before installing the new siding.  It is impossible to give a price up front on wood rot when the whole house is not torn off to expose what may lie beneath.  Per good practice we usually remove and make water tight one side at a time as not to create water issues getting inside due to bad weather.  The price that was given was a fair market price for the materials and work done.  As far as the window wood rot that he claims would be fine to wrap since the other company had done so goes against good business practice and quality workmanship that we do on every job.  There is no reputable siding company that would wrap the window trim that was uncovered from the old window wraps.  I have received an email from the customer that $500 is a fair price to pay for the work done which is around $200 short of the bill.  I find it odd that this has gone to a complaint against my company over a dispute of $200 on a $50,000 job.  It is true we did not sign any change orders for the wood rot repairs but I thought with the customer that our conversation on what he wanted done would be honored at the time of billing.  Like I said at the beginning, I can't give a price on work that is yet to be discovered on the first day of the job.  I do know the funds are available from the customer because the roofing contracted stated that he made him take money off the total contracted price before he would pay him for the job.  I stand firm that the amount billed is fair and reasonable for the work performed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    **** ********

This person is just impossible.  Its not his $50,000 job.  I also had two roofs replaced as well.  One on my house and the other on my shed.  He never owned up to any responsibilities to this project.  He started with a two person crew and when the crew was caught drinking while on the clock, he wanted to excuse them for the day and to have them return to work the next day.  Then, he never finished my job as my contractor who hired them had to complete the job.  I'm just ready to move on.  ***** ******* said he was going to readjust his bill and that was two weeks ago.  Just an unprofessional individual.
