On 08/13/22, I purchased my very first car from Cable Dahmer Chevrolet on *** * ***** **, Kansas City, MO. For $20,000, it was a 2018 Dodge Journey. It took Cable Dahmer 9 months to send me the title for my car. During that time, I received traffic tickets for not having my car properly registered. Every time I contacted someone about my car, I received the runaround. At one point, someone from the titles department told me my title was at the DMV, but when I went there, the lady informed me that since I got my car in Missouri, Cable Dahmer would have my title. I contacted someone from the title department again, and this time they stated that my title was sent. However, if I wanted a new title, I would have to pay $50. I wasn't willing to come out of pocket for a title I never received, so I spoke with the manager. She sent me another title because it had been 9 months and they were unsure where the original title was. I asked her to send it to the dealership, and I would pick it up. In April of 2023, I picked up my title from Cable Dahmer Kia in Lee's Summit, MO. As soon as I received my title, I called Navy Federal because they’re the lien holder on my car. Since I didn't send in a copy of my title in a timely manner, my interest rate went up. As a result, my car payment went from $545 to $623 a month. Within the month of April, I was still unable to register my car because I didn't have the money. On top of that, I was 8 months pregnant with preeclampsia and on bed rest. Then, on 05/05/2023, less than a year after having my car, it broke down on me right after leaving church. I had it towed to Cable Dahmer Dodge on 05/06/23. At that time, they said I needed a new engine for my car. Thankfully, the warranty covered the engine replacement, but I still had to pay for the labor. Which was $490! Throughout the time my car was in the shop, Cable Dahmer didn't give me a loaner vehicle, which was in my policy. I tried to explain that I just had a newborn and a 2-year-old, and I needed to be able to get us back and forth to our doctor appointments. But they claimed since the shop was new, they didn't have any cars, and they didn't know what to tell me. I picked up my car on 05/26/23 after getting the new engine, and the AC wasn't blowing cold. I spoke with ****** *******, and she told me that since it's a new engine, I should let it set in, and it should start working. On 09/07/2023, the AC in the car went out, and I dropped my car back off at Cable Dahmer Dodge on 08/11/2023. They told me the thermostat in the engine was bad, and it would cost $1109.38 to get it fixed. I informed them that this engine was just put in, so why is the thermostat bad? I already told you about it! Once again, I was given the runaround. ******* ****** told me that my car was worked on 4 months ago, and I put a few miles on it, so basically, I still would have to pay to get my car fixed. I picked up my car on 09/12/2023. Two weeks later, on 09/29/2023, I was hit on the highway on my way to work. The driver door, front bumper, rear bumper, and gas cover were all damaged. I drove my car for over a month and on 11/03/2023, I dropped it off to get fixed at ****** ********* on ****** **** in North Kansas City. On 11/27/2023, ******** from ****** informed me that my car wouldn't start and I needed a new battery. They put in a new battery for $200. Then, on 11/30/2023, ******** called back and said that even with the new battery, the car still wouldn't start. Turns out, there was a low jack box on the car that a lien holder installed, and it was turned off. They told me to contact the dealership where I bought the car from. I contacted Cable Dahmer Chevrolet, and someone from their office told me to have my car towed to the service department. On 12/08/2023, I had my car towed to Cable Dahmer Dodge. Once again, they looked at the box that was on the car, but it turned out to be a tracker that Cable Dahmer had installed. They took it off, but unfortunately, the car still wouldn't start. ****** ****** asked if I want to get a diagnostic done on the car, so I had that done. She told me it wasn't the battery (which was new), the alternator, or the starter. Instead, it seems like something inside the engine or the engine itself has gone bad. The engine is backfiring through the intake. They need to tear the engine down to see what's going on, and the overall cost for that will be $800 plus tax. It's December 21, 2023, and for the past year and a half, I've been dealing with consistent issues with my car. Now, just four days before Christmas, I find myself having spent $500 on a deductible, $200 on a new battery, and $550 on a rental car in the past month alone. Despite all this, I still can't drive my car. Before the accident, I even spent $1100 on a thermostat that had just been replaced four months prior. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, and my finances are stressed to the max. This Christmas, my children and I won't be celebrating - we don't even have a Christmas tree out. It's supposed to be a joyous holiday, but all I want for Christmas is to get out of this bad deal I made with Cable Dahmer in the first place. They sold me a lemon, and it's taking a toll on me. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope we can work together to find a satisfactory resolution. Best regards, [Brazil Carter]

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Cable Dahmer Chevrolet, and I must say, it was nothing short of a nightmare. Their staff's shady practices are a prime example of why people despise going to dealerships in the first place. If you happen to stumble upon an acceptable price for one of their vehicles online, don't get your hopes up. Cable Dahmer Chevrolet will notoriously for add an exorbitant $10,000 worth of hidden fees to the advertised price. It's a classic bait-and-switch tactic. They lure you in with an attractive price, only to slap you with unexpected charges once you're already invested. But that's not the worst part. During my visit, I discovered that Cable Dahmer Chevrolet has a disturbing habit of holding your keys hostage when you're attempting to trade in your vehicle. I had to ask for my keys back at least three times before they would give them back to me. This devious tactic is employed to prevent you from leaving the dealership without making a deal. It's a blatant disregard for customer autonomy and a desperate attempt to coerce you into accepting their unfair terms. The entire experience left me feeling frustrated and manipulated. It's disconcerting to witness a dealership engaging in such unethical practices especially when everyone is already struggling with today’s economy, preying on unsuspecting customers who simply want to buy a car. I strongly advise anyone to reconsider doing business with Cable Dahmer Chevrolet. Their staff's shady practices and hidden fees are a disgrace to the automotive industry. Don't be fooled by their enticing online prices, as they will undoubtedly add a significant amount to the final cost. And be prepared to fight for your freedom to leave, as they will go to great lengths to keep you trapped within their clutches. Cable Dahmer Chevrolet is a prime example of everything that is wrong with the car-buying experience.
