    Having used drive-through car washes before in other cities, I didn't think twice about going to the one that was close to my home in Independence on 18 Dec. 2024. I drove my car as directed into the metal-sided trough that would guide the wheels through the machine. Nothing seemed unusual as my car was pulled through the wash and rinse cycles of the $15 wash special that day. When I exited to park to dry and vacuum my car, I saw that its driver side rear-view mirror was broken off. I spoke with an employee that was nearby in the paved area, and she took my name and number and said the manager would contact me, I think the next day. I did not hear from anyone in the company. Looking at my phone, I see I called the carwash location the next day and spoke to someone more than 5 minutes. Still no call from the company, I went back on 30 Dec. 2024 and was then told that I needed to fill out a "Damage Report" which I did that day. I was told the manager would look and it and call me back after review with its insurance company. Still, NO CALL from the company! My phone shows I made a call on 14 Jan. 2025 & spoke to someone at the Independence store for more than 11 minutes. Still no info about a resolution was given, nor a good timeline for when I might expect to have the repair done. I must have been told that the manager, Steve, is there early every day except Wednesday until about 1 PM so I decided to not try further contact on Wednesdays. I made other calls on 16 Jan., and 27 Jan., both times leaving a message if possible; the one on 27 January was to say that I would be contacting the BBB if I didn't hear back from the company.

    This review is for services at the *** * ***** ******** ** *****. For some reason the location will not appear in filing this complaint. I have complained to Cable Dahmer’s manager,Shelby, with no reconciliation other than to credit me for 10 car washes. I strongly believe I was not informed when I signed up for a special which I recall was for 3 or 4 “ free” package deal car washes and ended up being a car wash membership in perpetuity! What happened was when I agreed to the limited time/ series of washes deal I was told verbally of, and then signed the credit receipt, I was actually signing up for something totally different than what I was just told; not realizing this receipt was more like a contract! It’s embarrassing that it took me so long to notice as I have been very busy in the last year caring for my elderly mother and dying sister and only recently had time to focus on finances and to notice these charges. I know myself too well to NOT to sign up for anything where you need to opt out as was the case here. Whoever sold me the deal” led me to believe it was for a series of car washes and my payment at that time was for this one time one payment deal. Given the credit card receipt I signed ,which was just emailed to me, I see clearly why I thought I was signing what I had just been verbally told, and, did not closely read what was on the receipt—- which was NOT what I was verbally told. I never expected to be signing a “ contract” with the need to read the very fine print! I speculate if the person who sold me other than what I was told was pressured to meet some sort of inventive to sell. Please note this incident occurred at the location on 103rd off Wornall Road. I am a nurse by profession and background and I am known by friends and colleagues for being a person who is honest. I am hopeful that at some point Cable Dahmer will acknowledge that my recounting of this issue is not a lie and reimburse my money.
