We entered into a contract with Renovate Rite on 10/22/2021. They were to order and install 2 sliding doors in our kitchen and to also order and install an outside door in our garage. We were told at the time that the work should be completed some time in February. I paid them $7623.50 (50%) on 10/22/21 and the check was cashed on 10/25/21. I called the company and left a few messages in the first week of January just to touch base and find out how the schedule was looking for February. To my surprise, the doors had NOT been ordered yet my check was cashed. Was told that ***** had to come out and measure first. This was never mentioned before. Finally connected with ***** after a few voicemails were left and he came to our house and measured mid January. I left messages on 3/2 and 3/4 for *****, the production manager at Renovate Rite, inquiring about the doors and if they have been received. No return phone calls of course. I called on 3/7 and he accidentally answered his phone. He told me they just moved to another office/warehouse and he didn't recall seeing my doors but would check the manufacturer website for a status and would call me back. I have left voicemails for him on 3/9, 3/10 and today 3/15. I have also left a message for ***** and no reply from him either. I had told ***** that it bothered me that the company cashed our check but hadn't ordered the doors in our January conversation and he informed me that's how they do business. I have no idea if the doors were ordered but I know our check was cashed and this is not a good way to do business.Customer response

11/11/2021 half of the cost of the job quote was paid. The contact was signed 10/28/2021 No work has been done. I can't get a return call text or message. Someone was supposed to come out on 2/22/2022 to take measurements no one came and no phone call. I did get a return message stating they were moving in early March since then nothing. All I want is my deposit of $7298 returned. If they are still willing to do the job that would be acceptable.Customer response

We hired Renovate Rite in August of 2021 to complete repairs on our front porch. On August 24, 2021 we paid a $1531.00 down payment to secure their services. The contract they sent us stated if we did not like the initial plans the were drawing up, we could get a full refund and go our separate ways. They also told us at that time they were backed up due to demand, supply availability and Covid. Despite this, they felt they could provide drawings and start work around November. No plans arrived and no timeline was set in November. We called, texted, and reached out on ********* Finally, Renovate Rite responded; saying they were still behind and work would start would be after the new year. Nobody from Renovate Rite contacted us in January, again we had to chase them down. We started getting a really bad feeling about this company. The project manager, *****, finally contacted us and came to our home. He said he would be back in February to start the work. No specific timelines were ever given. In March, we had enough and asked for a refund. They agreed. However, they did not refund our payment and now will not call back. Throughout this whole process, Renovate Rite never reached out to us, never provided plans for approval, and never established a timeline to start the work. In researching online, I am now seeing multiple customer complaints in the past thirty days. Additionally, their website is down and it sounds like they are no longer at the address listed on their profile.Initial Complaint

I hired Renovate Rite in May 2021 to build a three season room on my home. I gave ************************* a check for $11,000 and was advised it would be approximately 16 weeks until completion. After not hearing from ******* for a few months, I called to get an update and was then told by ******* that he didnt realize another job was ahead of mine and was taking longer than expected so mine would actually take longer to complete. In September 2021, *****, the project manager came to take final measurements and stated they should be getting started soon. Over the course of this time, I was never contacted by anyone regarding my project, I had to constantly contact ******* or ***** who repeatedly gave me excuse after excuse as to why they hadnt gotten started. I have text messages and screenshots of chat messages from ******* and ***** as evidence of the correspondence that occurred between us all.I called ******* on March 8 but he didnt answer. He texted shortly after and stated, Hi ***** sorry I missed you. Ill give you a call back as soon as possible . Not only have I not heard back from him, his voicemail is now full and can no longer accept messages. I trusted ******* to do the job he said they would do but now Im out $11,000 and have nothing to show for it.Customer response

I really hate to write this review however my texts and requests have been ignored. *******'s a nice guy but doesn't know how to run his business. We ordered 27 windows July 2020, installed October 2020 and there is a huge quality problem. NO ONE checked the quality of the windows as the picture windows and casement windows had HUGE defects in them yet they were installed! Wind and cold was coming into the house that I had to put paper towels in the defective opening to block the cold! So, he replaced the 3 casement windows April 2021 and again NO ONE inspected them as they had defects in them! They left a huge and heavy picture window in the crate up against the garage wall and is blocking part of our garage that we have problems getting in and out of car! We've asked him to come get it and still in garage January 2022! Over 15 months and still have the defective windows! And this is the second set of defective windows installed! We are extremely disappointed in how he had handled the problem and had not given the attention needed. So we are still waiting for 4 picture windows and 3 casement windows to be replaced!Initial Complaint

We hired Renovate Rite to tear down and replace our deck stairs. Part of the contract included that they would pull the correct permits and have the stairs inspected. They have been sending me bill for completion of the project prior to completion. They did not pull permits from the city we live in. They now are unreachable by phone, but will text me that they have sent me a new bill. I just want our project completed and up to code, prior to payment. They are unreachable and have not been reasonable to work with.Business response

We apologize for the trouble with your project. We’re not sure how there was a miscommunication amongst production staff regarding the permit. Our intention was and still is, to pull permits. Regarding payment, our sales staff were unaware of the delays when sending you the invoice and the reminder emails were sent automatically by our invoicing software. Once everyone was made aware of the delay, our staff knew of course that payment was not necessary until we corrected everything for you. Our production team is gong to retroactively finish acquiring permits from the city and will arrange inspections of piers and framing as initially planned. We are sincerely sorry for the mix up on our end and are working to correct the permit issue. We can be reached at the following primary contacts314.942.7878 Main Office
