We signed a contract with Renovate Rite in August 2021 for them to put in a new deck. We put 50% down, $12,000. Our project was supposed to be completed in December 2021. Not once did anyone reach out to us. In January I started calling the office and finally got someone out to do a final measure. A few weeks later I got a call stating that the permits were requested and we were waiting on the city. I called the city a week later and they told me no permits had been submitted. I tried getting in touch with the office multiple times and no one answered. Finally got in contact with ******* *****, the owner and we agreed that because he had breached our contract he would refund our $12,000 deposit. He asked us to give him a week to get the funds together. It has now been 3 weeks and he has stopped responding to all calls and texts and we have not received our deposit. He is all talk and no action and has stolen $12,000 from us.

I hired them to do two jobs for me. They were to replace the front part of the shower in my master bathroom and the rail on my front steps. I paid them $2400 as a down payment on a $4800 job. They came out in early June to measure after trying to get them to come out. There has been several excuses for them since last year. A few weeks ago, I received a call from a ***** and they wanted me to call the office. I have tried to call them several times since, but I have been unable to reach them.

This was another one of the jobs in our last batch of 2021 that got delayed. All materials have been acquired and installation is expected to begin in approximately 3 weeks. Despite our readiness to begin this customers project, we would also be willing to refund her deposit in consideration of the unexpected additional lead time.

We signed a contract with this company to do a deck and a screened in porch nearly a year ago. We paid them $32,000 by various checks, which have cleared. They have framed 98% of it and left about 8 weeks ago. I haven&#**;t heard from them since. I have called and no one answers. The email is bouncing back to use as "undeliverable." I still supposedly owe the last one third and final payment. Their website says they are moving. They had three different crews out here. They didn&#**;t follow the architect&#**;s plans.

In October, Renovate Rite gave me a quote to replace my stairs at the rear of my home as well as provide some additional services to fix siding, expand my patio, and replace trim on garage. Work was to be completed before the end of the year. When my work was not completed, I called, emailed and texted for a month before someone finally answered. I was assured that my project would be done by the end of March. It’s now April, no work has begun. No one will answer the phone or return my phone calls. They have my $1,250 deposit but won’t even call me or answer the phone.

This customer is set to be installed within 2-3 weeks time. Some previous members of our office administration staff were let go in February, thus communication with our main office line has been insufficient and may remain so until April 11th when our new Office Administrator starts working with us.

This is my second time reaching out to the Better Business Bureau regarding Renovate Rite. I reached out last month and was promised that the contractor would have my job scheduled and completed within a couple of weeks. A full month has gone by without any word from the contractor. I have tried to call, text, email and I’m getting no results. I would like a 100% refund of my deposit.

We found this company at the St Louis home show also. We thought this would be a good place to start for replacing our deck. So far, a total scam. We gave them a 10% deposit on the work contracted for and have received nothing. All of the numbers we were given either don’t work or just ring. One number had a voicemail that was full and refused to accept any new ones. Tried to contact by email and either the correspondence was kicked back or were not responded to. Just stay away from them. My first time being stuffed by a contractor and its beyond frustrating.

      Hi *****,

I apologize for the confusion, the representative who came to your house should have addressed timeline expectation with you. Our estimated lead time on decks and patio covers is about 12-14 weeks. Everything for your job is still on schedule. Sorry for the confusion. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.

      Thank you!

I have not heard heard from the business despite calling, emailing and sending certified mail to Renovate Rite.
I am seeking a refund from the company.  The owner said my project is still on schedule, but I have not heard from them.  I spoke to the customer at the St Louis Home Show and have not heard from him since.

I entered into a contract with Renovate Rite to put in a new window and add partitions to my basement in October, 2021. At that time, I gave them a deposit, which they said was required to start the work, of $3,780.00. During the next few months no work was ever performed and I made repeated attempts to inquire when I could expect the work to start. I was told each time that the project manager would get back to me and no one ever contacted me about starting. I even contacted the owner, *************************, through email and he assured me that someone would be in contact soon. I finally gave up on them and sent an email to ******* in late January requesting a refund for my deposit. He apologized at that time and told me he would "gladly refund my deposit". As of this writing, I still have not seen the refund. I have contacted ******* and he told me on three separate occasions that he would bring the refund by my house. As of today, March 29th, I still don't have the refund and he is not responding to my emails or phone calls. I would like the money refunded to me and I consider it a case of fraud. I would appreciate anything your office can do to help me collect my refund.

6/3/21 estimate from Renovate Rite. We ended up putting a down payment on a patio roof On October 5 2021 for 3900.00 and another on October 24 for 4960.50. The project was supposed to start in March. Nothing until we followed up and got an appointment only for them not to show up. No response when we tried to reach them. Husband had to go on foot to their office luckily ***** ****** the project/sales manager was coming out and he pinned him down to come out. The project was slated for March and NOW it got pushed to June. After the appointment, reached out to ***** regarding our HOA requirements. No response NOTHING. Called Julie at their office NOTHING, followed up with ***** again NOTHING. HE sent me a screenshot of the owner's # called ******* the owner, mailbox not set up. Called ***** back no response nothing. Texted ***** nothing. Went to their new office on March 23 locked. Proceeded to call both ***** and *******(got through to *******) and told them wanting money back and expect to hear today the 23rd. Nothing back. Called my credit card company. They filed a dispute with them. WANT the total of $8860.50 back. PULLING OUT OF PROJECT Company has no integrity and just too many red flags. NOT reputable. The customer puts that much money down expect an answer. The estimate attached is what he sent originally. We decided to upgrade the roof and he never sent another estimate. That upgrade resulted in an additional down payment. Will file with the ******** ********* ******. We want a refund in the amount of our down payment. $8860.50 nothing less. ***** ****** no longer works for the company. Sent my husband a text today(3/23). This is not good.

I contacted ******** and NO Mr. *****/Renovate Rite has not refunded our money to Discover. It will be 30 days on April 23rd.  In this particular case, ******** will be giving him an additional 30 days so roughly around May 23rd if no action from Renovate Rite it will be an automatic win for us. Automatic win if Brandon ***** does not decide to dispute this which he stated he would give our money back.
The amounts, are $4960.50 and $3900.00. Waiting for $8860.50 to come back to us.
I will be filing a case with the AG office.

On July 5, 2021, I accepted a contract from RENOVATE RITE for construction of a deck. On August 28, 2021, I handed a check over to the Sales Director, amounting to half the cost of deck reconstruction. Autumn arrived and no work was done and Renovate Rite could not say when they could get to my project. Autumn ended; no work done; no promise of future date for the job. Phone calls and emails to Sales Director went unanswered. Then winter. No word from Renovate Rite. All I was wanting was for someone from Renovate Rite to say something like, "We are getting your inquiries and we have not forgotten you." NOT A WORD from anyone of the three office managers. Now that spring is approaching I attempted to contact OFFICE MANAGER, PRODUCTION MANAGER and SALES MANAGER. The Sales Manager no longer has a working email address and his phone answering machine is FULL. The Office Manager's phone no longer appears to have an answering machine. The Production Manager is the only one that has an answering machine that is active and he does accept TEXT. (As, yet, I have not heard from him, but of the three I have to respect his not shutting down contacts. I would expect a courteous, "Got your message." "We're working on it." Etc. They have my money but lack professional ethics. All I want to know is for one of them to let me know IF and WHEN they plan to honor their part of the contract and assign workers to my deck project. The work that was completed here at the Villas by Renovate Rite deck builders appears to be excellent. But because the office is so poorly managed, I do not recommend RENOVATE RITE to interested friends. I am disappointed to think that RENOVATE RITE has had my check, which they cashed, since August 28, 2021 but have not the professionalism or basic courtesy to make themselves available for questions.

Thank you for accepting my complaint.  This complaint issue can now be considered complete.

This is to inform BBB that complaint filed earlier has NOT been resolved.  In the spring when the owner of Renovate Rite FINALLY phoned me to say he had plans for the rebuilding of my deck, I thought the big delay was over.  I was certain he would make good his word and send his workers to build my deck.  This is NOT happening.  Instead, the owner is once more not available via email or phone call.  Today a letter that I had mailed to the owner in March was returned to me by the post office.  Message:  RETURN TO SENDER  ATTEMPTED - NOT KNOWN  UNABLE TO FORWARD.

My complaint, unfortunately, has not been resolved and I am out $4,665.00.
