Back in October of 2022, we had KC Quality come out to our house to assess our foundation after we had noticed many sheetrock cracks and several large cracks in the garage. They were the third company to come out. They quoted us 11,600 at the time for a Piering job. After several months break to reconsider, we came back to them in February of 2023 for the same work. Their prices had increased which was fine due to natural inflation. Because Kansas City has such an epidemic of cracking foundations right now due to bad drought, every company is booked MONTHS in advance and we were trying to get it fixed and sold before our second child comes in June. So they sent us a new updated contract with the new price and we asked what was needed to be done to get on the books. They informed us (all of this visible in email corespondents attached) that we needed to return the signed contract and pay 25%. We ended up paying what WE THOUGHT was a deposit to hold the spot, and they never corrected us, and their contract does not state anywhere that its a non refundable deposit, but that 25% is needed for work to commence. Well, we ended up paying for a structural engineer to come out and asses the property and he gave his verified report and approval that the property does NOT need any structural fortifying after all. Once we found this out we reached out to KC repair to cancel our appointment and ask for the 25% refund as no work has been done and no where states that its non refundable. They refused. Stating that it's "company policy" but refused to show me that in writing. After speaking to our attorney, she showed me that in paragraph 11 of the terms and conditions of their contract it gives us right to claim on defective work by support of a report from a third party inspection (i.e. the structural engineer). I have sent them those documents and emailed and called, and have not gotten any response. They will EASILY fill my spot with other clients, I just need my money back.

I had them come in in April of 2021 to put columns in to stabilize my back deck for support. Just recently, on July 22nd, I was going to have the area near my deck leveled and have concrete poured there with the hopes of building a shed area. When the people arrived to do that, they found one of those columns that KC Quality Foundation Repair, LLC installed was just swinging. it wasn't even attached to the concrete pad underneath. The other columns pressure plate was bent. I called the company and they came out on July 25th and said they could take care of it. The people doing the work for me said they need to have it all addressed to make it secure. I called an independent structural engineer. The person came out and looked at the situation and evaluated it and said it was absolutely not done correctly. Apparently, where those rods are supposed to connect to a concrete pillar underneath, they are supposed to be bolted and the cube has to be 3 ft by 3 ft and below freeze line. When they came out here, the guy said they could fix it and they would re-bolt it. The man here acting on my behalf told him the concrete there was not legal. Business said that it was legal and it was 2 ft by 2 ft. they got defensive. It is totally bad. I have been trying to make contact with them. I started by asking for a refund. They have not contacted me. I have asked two times for my refund and they refuse to give me one. They have not emailed me in close to a week and a half. I asked if they would let me know what their intention is because I need to make a decision to get this situation fixed. We bought brand new rods to get them fixed and poured the legal amount of concrete. The concrete company can come in and start digging out the dirt and pouring the concrete to get it done. What really scared me is that I have a brand new seeing eye dog. The area that this is in is not fenced now because the concrete has to be able to access the area. There is a make shift tarp that has been tacked up there just for a visual barrier. She got out. Fortunately for me, a kind person found her and took her to my vet. I was scared. So now, I am even more anxious to get the situation fixed quickly. We have video of the actual swinging of the whole thing and detailed photos of everything.
