      I took my car, still drive-able, in March ******************************************** a collision. I opted for a settlement with the insurance company which would have covered most of the repair costs Schaefer gave the insurance, but when Schaefer found out I was paying the repair cost went up significantly, by $3000. Throughout this process, I wasn't able to get anyone to answer a phone or return a voicemail. I had to go in person to find out what was happening. I opted to delay repairs & asked for my car back, but they kept stalling. I finally got it back April 7, but only after contacting a manager. The car now has damage that wasn't there after the collision (I have photos from after the accident that prove it). Do not do business with them.

      Hello:Although Schaefer did good work on my car, their practices for estimates is deceptive and unethical. I settled with the other party's insurance to pay half. I was paying the other half personally. After getting the initial estimate, Schaefer updated to another ~$300 without telling me. I found out from the other insurance company. Then, when the car was ready, Schaefer told me that the cost went up another $800! They seemed to have added hours for no real reason on items like pre and post scan, and paint mix. You would think a professional auto body shop would know there costs. With all that said, after I complained and angrily paid my half, I received a voice message saying they would honor the second estimate and refund me, in a check, ~$332. It's been 3 weeks, and many emails to the shop's GM, and still no check. Now they are ignoring my communications. I will never recommend this shop to anyone.

      When I bought my new 2022 ******** two years ago, the financing included the purchase of an extended warranty through ********** I made the huge mistake of being persuaded by a slick sales pitch from *********** USA to drop ********* and go with them. I also failed to thoroughly investigate the company and to read the fine print on the contract, so shame on me. I purchased the Platinum level contract for approximately $3,400, but when my Atlas broke down over the weekend at 76K miles and had to be towed to a local ** dealership three hours from my home, the VW service manager there filed a claim with *********** USA the next day and was told it would take an adjuster 24 to 48 hours to investigate the claim. No one from the company ever called me, even though I had broken down nearly 200 miles from home, and a day later (today), the VW service manager advised me the claim was denied because the oil separator which failed and blew all of the oil out of the engine was not a covered part. Really?!! A major engine component not covered?!! And again, no call from the company directly to me! I was also told by the VW service manager that even if *********** USA had honored the claim, they would have insisted on using THEIR parts and not authentic auto manufacturer parts, which is unacceptable! In over 40 years of owning vehicles, this is the first claim I ever made on an extended warranty, and it was a hard and expensive ****** for me since I'm having to shell out about $1,200 for the repairs. My $3,400 investment in this extended warranty contract when needed netted me exactly a $0 return! For their shady advertising, manipulative sales tactics, atrocious customer care, and unwillingness to stand behind a major engine component failure, I will make it a personal quest to warn the public against ever doing business with AutoProtect USA.

      ********* repainted a few side panels on my car after a construction worker damaged the paint. During the disassembly ********* broke a large trim piece. The piece they broke was wrapped in black vinyl, but they replaced it with OEM trim, which is chrome. When I went to pick up my car I immediately pointed out the chrome trim, which I was surprised they didnt notice as it stood out on the car. They confirmed the trim was black when it was dropped off and said they would get it fixed. After weeks of inquiring when they would find someone to fix it, I offered to get a quote from the company that did the original work. After providing a quote to the Service Advisor, his manager approved the quote as well as the Uber I needed to get me back home while the work was being completed. Once completed, I submitted my receipts for the work and Uber that Monday, March 3rd. Since then (nearly 2 months ago) it has been difficult to get responses (the manager has yet to respond to any of my emails) regarding when I can expect to receive reimbursement. Im tired of having to repeatedly inquire about my reimbursement. ********* needs to stand behind their work and their word and provide the $412.69 reimbursement they said they would. This process has been unnecessarily difficult and time consuming and has turned an otherwise satisfied customer sour. Until now, I have purposely refrained from involving any outside party or posting an online review, but ********** lack of communication has left me no choice but to start getting 3rd parties involved, the first being the BBB.

      This review of Schaefer Auto Body in OFallon ******** is long overdue.Sometimes you purchase a new product or get service from a company, and you immediately receive a survey. In many cases you may need days or months to actually have a formulated opinion.First let me say that I am a perfectionist and expect nothing less from anyone in the repair of service industry. That being said, the personnel and the repair work done to my car was PERFECT! I see cars driving around all the time with one door a different color than the rest of the car. I really never expected the color matching on the door to match the rest of my car. Schaefer matched the color exactly and my car looks like it just came off the showroom floor yesterday.I highly recommend both the personnel and repair work at this shop.

      **** and **** were very professional and communicative about my repair. The repair exceeded my expectation and I was thrilled to get my car back in like-new condition. They did excellent work and made everything as easy as possible.
