I bought a car from them and the car is not working and not fixable. It is not worth keeping it. While I was driving, the axle fell off as soon as I got the car. I would like to get a refund or a new car from them.Business Response

The customer purchased the vehicle on January 13th, 2025. The vehicle was sold AS-IS, but does have an extended service agreement which covers 50% Parts & Labor of the Powertrain (Engine, Transmission, Drive-Axles) for 12 months or ****** miles, whichever comes first.
The customer brought the vehicle to the shop we use in early February complaining of an overheating issue. At this point the customer had put ***** miles on the vehicle in approximately three weeks of ownership. The vehicle was diagnosed as having a leaking radiator which is not a repair covered by the extended service agreement. As a gesture of goodwill, Auto Buy Credit agreed to treat the repair as if it were a covered item and covered 50% of the cost of repairs. We informed the customer that they were putting nearly triple the mileage on the vehicle that the average driver would have put on in the same period of time, and that the extra wear and tear would also lead to higher maintenance costs and increased incidences of required maintenance.
The customer did complain about an issue with the Axle that they had replaced on their own. We were never informed of this issue prior to her making the repairs. While the axle is covered under the extended service agreement, those repairs must be verified and completed at an authorized repair facility which did not happen in this case.
I do not know the current status of the vehicle or what problem the customer is currently experiencing. At this time I can only suggest that she get the car towed to the repair shop to see if it is covered under the service contract.Initial Complaint

I got a car by the end of April of 2024. I got a warranty on it for ***** miles as well. My car was having issues, so I had to take it the shop to get a new radiator. Now I am having issues again and I went in and out of shops to find out that I need a waterpump. Right now, auto by credit is not paying out the repairs at all. I pay my car note, I have the paper work for the warranty and they just aren**;t helping me at all. The air hasn**;t been working the whole time, it had stopped on the high way at one point. I have been calling them multiple times over the last few weeks, but the people are not working with me at all.Business Response

She brought the concerns about her water pump to my attention. Her warranty covers her powertrain - water pumps and radiators are not covered. Our last conversation with her, I recommended that she take the car back to the shop that we use. She refused and said she wasn't going to tow the car.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:this is not what I was trying to get across to them. I took it to 5 different shops and they told me the same thing. Everyone says that my motor has to be broken down and I don't know why it is not included in my warranty. I asked if I can bring the car back and bring $1,000 or $1200 to get another car and he refused. My car stopped on me on the highway.
Sincerely,

I don't know what is wrong with the consumers vehicle until it gets to the authorized repair facility. This is the first step and I cannot do anything until this is completed. I have to have a trusted diagnosis.Initial Complaint

June 4th, I financed a car from Auto Buy Credit *************** location for $1500 down payment. The car came with cosmetic issues that I was aware of and content with. A few weeks later the car started to steer to the left while driving and shake ( alignment issue) I did get a wheel alignment which I have the receipt for. The check engine light came on for code P1450 ( fuel vacuum leak) I brung this issue to *********** attention and he said to bring it to the shop as long as Im current on payment. Everytime I tell him about a problem with this car he says bring it to the shop long as your current on payment he doesnt try to fix or help with the car. He only cares about the money. He also tried flirting with my partner and once I brung it to his attention he changed as a person. He stopped caring about my car problems because he couldnt get with my partner. Ive only had this car going on 2 MONTHS and should not be experiencing all these problems and coming out of pocket for repairs.Business Response

He bought his car back in June and has put ***** miles on it, has a limited power train warranty on the car, brought it back in for check engine light and stalling problem which was not under warranty. He did not want to pay for any repairs. He is complaining of a transmission leak, we told him to bring it in and he has not brought it in. He has no claim denied and he has not brought the car in. We are not going to refund him because he bought the car AS IS and has a limited power train warranty and has not brought the car back in for us to look at it.Initial Complaint

On September 29, 2023, I went to purchase a 2014 **** Fusion that I spoke with one of the employees about multiple times on multiple days before arriving to the store to complete the purchase. Two weeks after having the car, my transmission failed, got it towed to the shop they work with, and it was fixed within 2 days. I get my car back and a month later, after getting off the highway, my car completely stops, will barely go in reverse and wont drive forward at all. After a while it wouldnt even go in reverse. This occurred Nov 24, 2023. I put a down payment of $3,500 on the vehicle when I was originally supposed to put $2,500. I then had to make 2 $300 payments to meet the correct price I was supposed to put down. Along with the $150 car note payments I made for those 2-3 months. So in total I wasted $4,550 on a lemon. Yes there is no lemon law here in ********, but this cant keep having to people especially not with money theyve worked for and for it to just be taken and not reimbursed or anything. Also, they are still saying I have to put the rest of the vehicles balance which is around $3,200.Business Response

The customer purchased her car on September 19th of 2023. The vehicle was purchased with a 12 month/12,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. Under the terms of the warranty the customer is responsible for 50% of the parts and labor in the event the vehicle needs a warrantable repair.
The customer is correct that after two weeks she experienced a problem with the vehicle. However, the transmission did not fail as she states. The problem she had with the vehicle was with the shifter linkage. This is a common issue on **** vehicles and there is a TSB from **** detailing the problem. This repair is not covered under the customer's warranty as it was not an internal transmission issue, however Auto Buy Credit fixed the issue for the customer free of charge as a gesture of good will.
At a later date, the customer towed the vehicle into the shop with a transmission problem. This time it was determined that the vehicle did in fact have a transmission problem and that the transmission would need to be replaced. At this point, the customer had put ***** miles on the vehicle since she had purchased it. Her warranty claim was not denied, however she said she did not have the funds to cover her portion of the repair and instead chose to surrender her vehicle to the finance company.
We feel we have been fair to the customer and have adhered to the conditions of the warranty. Since the vehicle is now in the possession of the finance company she would need to redeem the vehicle from them. Assuming they have not already sold the collateral, then if she does so her warranty is still in effect and should she choose to pay her portion of the repair the transmission would be replaced under warranty.

*Response To Lender & More Information* Yes, the car was repaired within the first two weeks, free of charge because the issue was covered through warranty. Yes I put over 69xx miles on the vehicle because I travel a lot for school, work, and to see my family who lives in *********, **. Whos to tell me where I can and cant go with a vehicle I purchased with my hard earned money? But that doesnt give anyone the right to purchase bad vehicles.Initial Complaint

I just got the car in November. The horn is out and I just put it in the shop and will have to get a rental car until they get it fixed. I don't think they checked this car before they sold it to me. They fixed the radio. Now, the transmission is out. I got new spark plugs because the old ones were so filthy and the inside was not vacuumed out.Business Response

The vehicle was sold to the customer AS-IS, however the customer purchased an extended service plan as part of her purchase of the vehicle. While we understand that it is frustrating any time a vehicle is down in need of repair, the warranty company is repairing the vehicle as per their contract with the customer. We do the best we can to ensure that the vehicles we sell are roadworthy, including inspecting them for safety and emissions related items as well as general roadworthiness, but we cannot predict what may happen to a vehicle in the future which is why we encourage customers to consider extended service agreements when they purchase a vehicle in case a situation such as this arises. We have no control over the time table of the repair, that is something that would be between the customer and the shop at which she is having the vehicle repaired.

02/14/2023 $11000 First of all attempted to contact the salesperson at the dealership several times who stated he would call back but never did. Sold me a warranty and specifically said it would cover the cost of repairs but only covered 80% of the repair of the ball joint that needed repairing the day after I purchased the car. When I drove the car the day before it drove great sounds and problems. The day I purchased the car they took the car into their garage and when I drove off the lot it sounded rough so I just figured it needed a tune up and oil change but I needed a ball joint and car is still driving rough. I believe I was sold a lemon. I now have to get a diagnostic on the car and new tires There is no telling what problems this car has and the out of pocket money I will have to payBusiness Response

This customer is correct that she purchased the vehicle on February 14th of 2023. When we sold her the car it had been safety and emissions inspected. I had personally driven the car multiple times and did not have any issues with the vehicle. She did purchase a 24 month/24,000 mile extended service agreement with the vehicle. The nature of this service agreement means that she can choose to take the car to the shop of her choosing if she has a problem with the vehicle. She says that she had a ball joint replaced, which would have been under her warranty. This repair was not done at the shop that we use so I have no information regarding the repair. If she had contacted us regarding a problem we would have directed her to the shop we use. With her having recently purchased the car we would have certainly tried to have had the vehicle looked at and see if we could address her concerns with the vehicle.
I do not know what she means when she says the "vehicle sounds rough." We do a fresh oil change on all of our vehicles prior to sale, and there was no indication that there were any drivablity concerns when we sold her the vehicle. I would encourage the customer to contact us and take the car into our shop and see if we can resolve the issue.

Hello I bought my car from Auto But Credit in September of 2022 and it is January 2023 and I have experienced nothing but ongoing car troubles. I bought a 2008 Pontiac G6 3.5L with 195+ miles on there. I was told the car was good passed inspections and all. However ever since I have had the car the cooling system was messed up just replaced radiator, the oil plug for oil change is stripped so no oil spot is trying to change my oil. Now also my Transmission is slipping and my car is in the shop due to warranty coverage. My transmission went out on the car I haven’t even had it that long. I been paying my car note on time and all but now my car is in shop and I was told I still have to pay car note or they won’t fix the car… I really don’t understand why I would being paying a note on a car that’s not in my possession,as of now it’s in the shops due to the car troubles. I don’t understand how I’m being held accountable for paying a car note on a car I’m Not driving at the moment.Business Response

The customer is correct that she purchased the car in September of 2022. The car was sold As-is, however she was provided with a 12 month/12,000 mile extended service agreement which covers the Engine, Transmission, and the drive-axles on the vehicle. The customer is responsible for covering 50% of the cost of the repair should the situation arise that one of the covered parts fails within the period of coverage.
In January, the customer brought to our attention that she felt that the vehicle was experiencing a problem with the transmission. We directed her to bring the car into the shop to have it diagnosed. Once there, the shop confirmed that the transmission was not shifting correctly and it had a code for a shift solenoid problem. We felt that replacement of the transmission was the best way to resolve the problem, and informed the customer that her portion of the repair would be about $700. She paid her portion to the shop and we procured the transmission as soon as we could, and her vehicle was repaired and returned to her. The vehicle had 194,074 miles when she purchased it, and she had put about 6,500 miles on the car since her purchase to when the transmission was repaired. We completely fulfilled our obligation to the customer with regards to her warranty.
Her complaint about having to make a car payment while the vehicle is down is unrelated to Auto Buy Credit. She financed her car through a finance company called CSAC. One of the things she agrees to when signing her paperwork for financing is that she will continue to make her payments to the finance company even if the vehicle is in need of repair, warranty or non-warranty. This is clearly laid out on the payment agreement that she initials and signs for CSAC.

This is for the ****************** Location:
I bought a 2015 ****** Altima on Friday September 2, 2022. Drove to work the NEXT MORNING , SEPT. 3 2022. After that 20 minute drive, the car was smoking. Because of Labor Day weekend, we could not have it looked at until today (Sept.7). The Problems: (1) COOLANT LEAK caused by a hose clamp not being installed correctly (2) TIRE OUT OF BALANCE at 65 mph--didn't drive that fast on test drive, BIG mistake. (3) TRANSMISSION PAN HAS A BIG DENT AND LEAK We did not cause any of these problems in the time (less than 18 hrs) that we owned it.Of course, like the other reviewers, the warranty doesn't cover anything big. We would like to be reimbursed for the Transmission leak and coolant leak. These problems should have been fixed by the dealer prior to putting this car on the lot or disclosed. Looks like this was a case of hope the buyer doesn't catch the problems on the test drive.
