I was totally disgusted by how nasty the windows a glass around the circular front door was today. If I went to a restaurant and saw the same condition I would have walked out. My loved ones room was so depressing. It needed paint and a good scrubbing! The dry wall was all scuffed and marred. I have always preferred Mercy (**************) but I am rethinking my choices after what I noticed today.

Unprofessional Conduct and Abuse of Authority at Mercy HospitalMy experience with Mercy Hospital was not just disappointingit was a blatant display of unprofessionalism and abuse of authority. Despite confirming my appointment, processing my payment, and having all signed paperwork in order, they canceled my appointment without providing any notification. When I requested a refund, they refused outright. The staff was not only dismissive but also extremely rude, and after a certain point, they stopped answering phone calls altogether.Beyond their failure to handle appointments responsibly, their treatment of patients was appalling. We waited nearly four hours for someone in authority to acknowledge our concerns. Each time we politely inquired about an updateapproximately every 15 to 20 minuteswe were completely ignored. Rather than addressing the issue, apologizing, or assisting in any way, the reception staff chose to escalate the situation unjustly by calling security on us.Under Missouri law (RSMo *******), abuse of authorityparticularly by those in positions of power within institutions such as hospitalscan constitute harassment and misconduct, especially when used to silence valid patient concerns. Additionally, their actions could be considered defamation of character (RSMo *******), as falsely labeling patients as disruptive or problematic without cause can damage reputations and wrongfully justify mistreatment. What makes this behavior even more disturbing is that the hospital was not overwhelmed with patients. Instead, the staff prioritized personal conversations and gossip over patient care. Their neglect, lack of communication, and overall disregard for professionalism are unacceptable in any medical facility.Patients deserve respect, transparency, and accountabilitynone of which Mercy Hospital demonstrated. Given this experience, I strongly urge others to seek medical care elsewhere.

I went in for a basic office visit last year with Insurance. I told the receptionist I dont think my insurance will cover this visit and if its cheaper to self pay I would rather. She told me I had to 'run' my insurance. This isnt true!I saw the nurse practitioner and had basic blood work done. the bill was ******* dollars. This year I dont have insurance. I see the 'doctor'. blood work again and the total bill is 400 dollars. I complained and all they had to say is we dont bill for the blood company. But they sure are in the building they own and I am sure they received part of that fee! I am still paying on the quest bill. the hospital hired them and could care less how they treat and bill "THEIR PATIENT". I know when I am being ripped off. Always ask how much. unfortunately you must. No wonder the #1 reason for bancruptcy in our country is healthcare. Huge discrepancy here! No help by Mercy however if that was billed to them personally they would be ******, like me! Yet I love me Doc.

My son was airlifted to Mercy Springfield, MO. after a motorcycle wreck. We (his family) waited patiently in the surgery waiting room for hours waiting to hear an update. At 1:30am security came into the waiting room and told us they had a report of homeless people sleeping in the waiting area, and we would have to leave. We attempted to explain we were waiting for our son who was in surgery, and that none of us were homeless, that we were actually the family of a paying patient, but Officer Doofy wasn't having it. We were kicked out while waiting quietly in a surgery waiting room at 1:30 am. This Hospital's policy is terrible. I would not recommend being treated here for any reason if you have an alternative.Mercy needs to investigate the way this facility is being operated by their current administration.

I had surgery for four hernias performed by ****************** ***************** several weeks ago, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Since the surgery, I've been dealing with ongoing pain and complications, yet getting proper follow-up care has been impossible. My post-surgery follow-up appointments have been rescheduled twice, each time with a different excuse. This is on top of the fact that my pre-surgery appointments were also repeatedly rescheduled. It's unacceptable to pay for a surgery and then be neglected in the critical post-operative period. The lack of care and disregard for my health is astounding. It feels like they are more interested in finding excuses than in actually taking care of their patients. Im still suffering from pain and unresolved issues, and the constant delays have only made things worse.I would not recommend ****************** ***************** to anyone who values their health and expects basic professionalism. The lack of care and accountability is deeply disappointing.

Why does Mercy Hospital make patients who are in pain wait weeks before getting treatment? . I realize that there are patients who are suffering more than I am, and patients who have more serious conditions than I have but this is how Mercy is dealing with my pain . Day 1 (November 26) My wife took me to the Mercy Springfield emergency room to see what was causing my severe back pain and leg numbness. The pain was severe enough that I was unable to work. I was pretty much confined to the bed or the couch. After a 4 hour wait I was given a steroid shot and referred to the pain management center. The staff was very nice. They blamed the long wait on being understaffed . Day 3 (November 28) I met with the pain management center who told me that I had to get an MRI before they could treat my pain. The staff was very friendly . Day 11 (December 6) I met again with the pain management center. The pain doctor said I had a disc herniation pushing on the L3 nerve. They said that a steroid injection in my back would help relieve the pain and numbness. They said that due to being understaffed the soonest I could get a shot was December 20th . Day 25 (December 20) I met again with the pain management center. The doctor, and the staff, were very professional. Due to their handling of my back pain, the steroid injection in my back was not a bad experience . Day 59 (January 23) My next appointment for a possible second steroid injection . Once again, why does Mercy Hospital make patients who are suffering wait weeks, or months, before getting treatment? Other patients must also find Mercy service lacking because, according to the Better Business Bureau, the customer review rating for ********************** is only 1.53 out of 5 (one and a half stars). Do we need to start calling the Mercy Hospital corporation "Show-No-Mercy"?

I would prefer not to even given them a star rating! Mercy is a joke and if you can use ******* you'd be better off! I went into Mercy STL Integrative Medicine per my doc's request and specifically asked, am I covered in network. The answer was yes. I also checked with my insurance company, *****, the answer was yes. I went a few times a week for over 3 months and then I started receiving bills. Now they are up to $7,000! Obviously I called after the first bill and I was advised by Joan at Mercy IM that she would be taking care of it and look into for me. Weeks go by, no response. I call again, told the same thing, but now I am seeing all of the bills - again, over $7,000. I had already begun making payments of $250 a month, but was advised, that is not enough, I need to make over $350 otherwise, I will be turned into collections. I call Mercy IM again, being told the same thing. I call the insurance again, and this time, I asked them to call Mercy as I was getting nowhere. After 2 hours on the phone, Mercy's customer service rep (Jakayla) was putting in a ticket stating that the tax id/address isn't correct and updating the address to reflect the *** ***** PO Box address vs the Chicago IL PO Box address. Hence why my insurance wasn't covering it - it stated IL when it should have been MO, therefore putting me "out of network" The Tax ID they have on file does show the Mercy Integrative Medicine ***** ******* ** *** ** *** ******* *** ***** *** This is what should have been reflected the correct address and claims will be reprocessed. I get a harassment call today from Mercy stating that I owe this money and need to pay it now. My claims are denied and the info is correct! WHAT!!! At the end of the day, Mercy Health has been in decline and they need you to pay! Choose your healthcare facility wisely and as I said, stick to those who know how to manage!
