On Dec.14, 2022 We hired My Owner Updates to exit us from our timeshare. We signed a contract with them understanding that it could take up to a year for this to all transpire. We paid them ******* up front. Then a few weeks after we signed and paid them. A man called and said he was with My Owner Update and handles another part of the transaction and we need to pay more money for credit protection? We were very concerned about our credit so we paid another ****** ( I might add this man was very arrogant and rude to us.) After we paid him we consulted **** at My Owner up Dates he told us DON'T pay anyone anymore more money and that man that contacted us had been fired? Then later we are contacted from a company called ********* they said they partner with My Owner Updates and handle the credit protection. So as time goes on we are getting no up dates and getting letters from credit bureaus and ******* who we had our timeshare through, I call My Owner Updates, no one call back, I leave messages, I text them nothing.....Months go by.... I called ********* and they tell me little but that My Owner Updates is handling our exit. Then three months after leaving dozen of messages **** from My Owner Updates calls and says ********* is handling our exit? Finally after months of calls and getting no where **** starts replying and says they lost our file and he is in touch with ********* trying to find out what happened and takes it all the way to the president! Then finally calls me and says how sorry he is that they dropped the ball. Meantime Wyndham offers us a settlement to deed back to them. **** from My Owner Updates says just do that we messed up and will return your ******* (7******) So we do that. No refund comes he finally answers my many calls and says your refund is in accounting scheduled to go out Friday and that was three weeks ago so more lies. We want a refund for a job that was not done and want the company My Owner Updates held accountable.

I paid them to get me out of my timeshare. I paid $17,000 the first time and then they called me and wanted me to pay another $5000. I have a signed contract that said they would get me out of it between 12 and 24 months. I got a loan, and now I owe $20,000 to a credit union. They told me that if I paid the $5000 they would put me on a credit block so that the non-payment wouldn't show up on my credit report. He was insulting to me when he spoke to me today.

We empathize with this customer's situation. That being said, she has been one of our more difficult customers, to the point we corresponded with our lawyer after our first call with her. On her first call she basically told us that we were a scam, then she talked for a while about how bad the resort company has repeatedly lied to her. Then "another company from Florida had scammed her". In reference to the additional amount she mentioned, this customer told us that instead of paying the fees that are clearly outlined in her contract that she would prefer to add a credit protection. Also, the additional option she was given had a lot to do with the fact she owned another timeshare that she neglected to tell us about. She has not spoken to the head of our customer service so that person will be following up with her in the coming days, Again we empathize with what she has gone through prior to us but she is going to have to keep up her end.

I would like the complaint to be reopened.  I do not agree with their statement.  I am not satisfied with their business practice.  I want them to return the money I paid them due to them not doing the service I paid them for.
