I have loved the Copiah County Co-op ever since I moved here beside them. I have let them use my drive way every day they are open and never said a word because they help me, too. We help each other. When my ex and I moved here, there was a flea market going on once a month on our property; we never said a word. It helped the co-op’s business. We didn’t say anything for a long time about the fertilizer trailers parked on our property until it started killing the grass and one caused bad ruts. Recently, I called ****** to ask her what I owed for the lime. She told me $140 plus when the bill was only $37. When I told her I wasn’t going to pay the $140 plus because it was incorrect, she hung up on me. I drove to the co-op to get it straightened out. She was angry and started telling me how she has helped me; I offered to pay half of the $140 plus or even all of it to save our friendship. She told me Idios and waved her hand and went back into the office. Then she returned and got the bill correct at $37. I paid it. I let her know that I help them every day with using my driveway. Then ***** got upset and said she will never use the driveway again. It was ok for them to say how they have helped me, but it was not ok with them for me to say how I help them. The next day I called ****** and asked her what *** said about the lime because she showed me the ticket where *** said he put 1.8 tons in my pond. and said she was going to talk to him. I only ask for 1/2 ton. That is why I got upset about the price ****** quoted me. *** told ****** he made a mistake in telling her the tonage. She never apologized to me. She told me I can get my lime somewhere else.

    Copiah County Cooperative AAL Response

It is the policy of Copiah County Cooperative in Hazlehurst, MS. to make every effort to serve each and every customer in a professional and business like manner, Providing the very best service possible. Ms. ****** has been a neighbor and customer for some time. Specifically on the date she is referring to, she wanted lime spun off in her pond in a very precarious place which could have resulted in the spreader truck being stuck or in the pond. My driver reported the weight from the scales and she was billed accordingly. When she asked about her bill she stated we had spread more than she had ordered. I researched it, talked to the driver, and adjusted her bill from $140 to $37 accordingly. This is our busiest season of the year, therefore I could not stand and keep going over this situation even after I made the adjustments necessary, She insisted on a full blown apology and made it in to an incident, rather than a mistake that was easily taken care of. We harbor no bad feelings toward Ms. ****** and will try our best to serve her in the future as we have in the past.

    Customer Response

****** ******* is the manager of the Copiah County Co-op. She answered this. She lied. I DID NOT keep standing and demanding an apology. That is a lie. The driver turned in the incorrect weight. I disputed the $140 plus when ****** told me how much I owed. I told her it isn’t correct. As I stated in my previous statement, she hung up on me when I disputed the charge. I had to drive to the Co-op to get it settled. She flew into me *** they help me and both ***** and ****** got angry when I said that I have been helping, too, by allowing their customers and employees to use my driveway daily. ***** said she will never use it again. ****** was the one who dragged out the conversation. I just wanted to pay my bill. I didn’t have time to listen to her telling me what they have done for me. ****** finally figured up the correct bill, and I paid it and left. The next day I called to see if she had talked to the driver; she had. He admitted making a mistake in submitting the incorrect weight. The day before ****** was adamant in the $140 plus amount. I thought maybe she would apologize, but she did NOT. I NEVER SAID A WORD to HER ABOUT AN APOLOGY. After she told me the mistake was corrected; I stated that I was glad and hung up. I don’t understand why she lied about my hanging around demanding an apology. That is SAD. We have always worked together. They watch my place when I am working; I watch the Co-op before I go to sleep. I am treated less than other customers. That is fine because I will NOT do business with a person who lies about me. They got mad when I put up my Posted signs, so the fertilizer trailers would not kill my grass. If it were their place, they wouldn’t want their grass killed either. ****** told me I would have to get my lime somewhere else; I already have someone to help me.
