1 starThis used car dealer in Jackson, MS is about as crooked as they come. They sold me a truck, knowing the problems that it would probably have and sure enough it did (Chevrolet was currently in a class action lawsuit about it, which was my fault for not doing better research). They then offered to fix it for the price of $6,000 which I let them do. Upon fixing that issue, all of a sudden my check engine light magically came on and now they said I had a bad catalytic converter and would be an additional $3,000 to replace. After finding out about this, they offered to to do a trade in, which they would "eat" the cost of the catalytic converter so they could put me in something else. The first truck they put me in not only came from a rental fleet, which they didn't tell me about until I looked it up, but the Toyota truck they gave me to test drive had an engine that was being currently recalled because of engine failure. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had dealing with a car dealership and I will do the best I can to ensure no one else gets taken advantage of by this dealership. People work to hard for their income and families to be treated like this from a local dealership and their service department. People should be very aware of all of the Herrin Gear dealerships because if one lot is run like this, I'm sure the others probably have the same business practices.Review fromCassandra B

1 starI had an experience at Herrin Gear that you cannot even make up if you wanted to. I had a great salesperson that made an honest error. He sold me a used truck that he believed was a 4wheel drive truck (roughly 57K). When I got it home and realized it and called him, he was quick to say he would make it right and find me a new truck. I then went back in a few days later, and the used car manager, ***** ****, tried to trade me for a 4 wheel drive truck at a terrible price...and was not willing to work with me. To say he was trying to ***** me over was an understatement. After about 15 minutes of getting nowhere with him. I told him I wanted my money back, and my trade in back, and he said "we don't write checks back to customers". I then said I would just go meet with the Attorney General and he said "you just go do what you have to do". At this point, between him trying to basically ***** me over on the deal and not admit the error that his salesperson made (who let me say again, was a great salesperson), I was in shock and frankly angry. Now...get this. He then said, and I quote, "I don't know who you are coming in here and trying to **** **** ** ******". Really? The Manager over the used car inventory at Herrin Gear Chevrolet, who is supposed to be a respectable dealership, tells me "I am trying to **** **** *** ******". Well isn't that professional? In all my 64 years, I have never even heard such a term, nor could I ever imagine ***** ****, the used car manager at a dealership at Herrin Gear, would say such a thing to a customer. I can promise you I would fire any of my employees on the spot, no matter what their level in my company was, if they EVER talked to one of my customers like that. I finally dealt with ****** *****, the General Manager, who after a 3 minute discussion of the issue, made it right and committed to write me a check back for the mistake, take the truck back, and give me back my trade in.Review fromMichael P

1 starLet's start by saying buying my 2021 Silverado 1500 crew cab was good. After going over the numbers with the salesman everything seemed to be in order. As my salesman was working on the paperwork we were having a discussion about getting the windshield replaced since was a Chevrolet Pre- Certified vehicle I was buying. The salesman did say he does not know how they missed it since they Pre-Certified this vehicle in their service department at Herrin-Gear. The salesman stated they will replace the windshield at no cost to me. Also I asked the salesman about the additional Smart key Fob key since he only gave me one on my test drive with him. He said he would look and see if there was another fob for me and if not he would order one. So I left the truck that evening so they could get the windshield replaced, then wash and detail and I would pick it up the next day. The next day came and I received a text around 2:00 pm that the truck was ready for me. I left work to go get take delivery of my new truck. After getting there and talking to my salesman I asked him about the smart key and he stated to me he had to order it and it would be in next week. Well a week had passed no call from the salesman so I called his cell and and no answer so I then left a v/m. After a day passed still no contact from the salesman so I texted him about the additional key. Sometime passed after texting I decided to call Herrin-Gear and talked to the car sales manager and explained the situation to him and his response was let me get on that right now, give me your phone number and I will call you right back. Well here it is almost a week later and no response from the salesman or the car sales manager, not surprising. I had several dealerships I could have bought from. I chose Herrin-Gear because they acted like they cared about the customer. Well shame on me for thinking that way. Herrin-Gear Chevrolet is all ready to make you a deal but a far cry from customer service. Buyer beware!!!!!Review fromKelli R

1 starHORRIBLE SERVICE. I posted a review somewhere and they replied saying they would reach out to FIX THEIR mistakes. LIE. LIE. I will NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone. They did the wrong service and lied about their work. They returned the vehicle with NOTHING to done to the original service request. Don't be fooled.Review fromShonda T

1 starHerrin-Gear have had my car since October 5, from hitting a deer. I been calling since the end of October and they tell a different lie every time I call. The lady at the insurance place said it should have been ready October 17. My husband went to Herrin-Gear November 23 and they told him a lie stating it would be ready next week. Since I bought the car from them, I thought maybe it will be quicker to get it repaired, but never again will I buy a vehicle from them or have any type of work done. Herrin-Gear service is very horrible and it’s December 5 and Herrin-Gear still has my car. They haven’t called with know update or lie. ********Review fromCarl T

1 starI damaged my infiniti in a crash and filed it on my insurance. I had it towed to herrin-gear because I thought that would be the best place for it to get fixed. After they did 2 estimates it was determined by my insurance that it was a total loss. I had the option whether to keep the car or let it the insurance have it. I decided to keep the car and my insurance told me that I had to pick it up from Herrin-Gear. The first time I went to pick the car up they wouldn't let me leave with it because they said I owed $3,900 for a car that was still damaged in the same way it was when it was towed there said I owed for parts and labor. I called my insurance and they wound up paying $700 to them for what reason I don't know. The second time I went to pick it up they let me know they had lost my keys. They told me they would cut me a new one into just wait a minute. This was at 11:00 in the morning. I waited around with no word on what was going on. At 4:30 they decided to let me know that they couldn't cut me and you key because they needed a key code that was on the inside of the car. I called another Infinity dealership in Memphis and they told me that there is no such key code on the inside of the car all they all they need is the VIN number. So I gave the Infinity dealership in Memphis the VIN number and they came back with the key code in about 3 minutes. I called Herrin-Gear and gave them the key code they told me that it would be no problem they'd cut me a key. Needless to say this is been back in August and they still have my car now it's November they refuse to cut me a key so I can get my car after they lost it. Every time I call they give me the runaround and tell me they'll call me back and they never do and tell me anything. I very much so want to talk to the general manager to see if we can get things straightened out. If that doesn't work I'll be forced to go the legal route which I don't want to do but I will to get my car back.Review fromLaTasha J

1 starBEWARE OF BUYING A VEHICLE AT HERRIN-GEAR AUTOMOTIVE GROUP. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM HERRIN-GEAR AUTOMOTIVE GROUP. I BOUGHT A 2020 GLE 350 UNKNOWINGLY, WITH MISSING TRANSMITTERS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE THAT ULTIMATELY WERE GOING TO COST $12 TO 15 THOUSAND DOLLARS. THESE TRANSMITTERS CONTROL THE KEYLESS ENTRY, CAMERA, STARTING THE ENGINE, ETC. I MENTIONED TO THE SALESMAN AT HERRIN-GEAR LEXUS THAT THE KEYLESS DOOR ENTRY WAS NOT WORKING. HE STATED IT MAY BE A SETTING. I HAD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS A WEEK IN A HALF OUT, TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP IN RIDGELAND (AFTER I PURCHASED IT), AND THEY TOLD ME THAT A TRANSMITTER HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE & IT WOULD BE $6,900. AT THIS POINT, I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE & THE SALES MANAGER FROM HERRIN-GEAR LEXUS STATED SINCE I HAD THE VEHICLE PAST THE 3 DAYS, THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO; HOWEVER, HE WOULD WORK WITH ME. THE SALES MANAGER STATED THAT MERCEDES DEALERSHIPS IN RIDGELAND ARE KNOWN FOR PRICE INCREASES, SO HE SENT ME TO ******** ********** & THEY STATED IT WOULD BE $12-$15,000 TO FIX DUE TO ITS TWO TRANSMITTERS THAT ARE MISSING ON THE VEHICLE & IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK PROPERLY IF FIXED WITH THE PARTS PER ******** ********** MANAGER/OWNER. THE ******** ********** MANAGER/OWNER VERIFIED WITH HERRIN GEAR THE SALES MANAGER THE ISSUES & AND AGAIN STATED HE WOULD WORK WITH ME. HE DID NOT; LONG STORY SHORT, HE TRIED TO SELL ME A VEHICLE THAT WAS MORE THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING, & I MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT I WANTED THE SAME VEHICLE OR THE ONE I PICKED THAT WAS REASONABLY PRICED FOR THE SAME AMOUNT A TRADE. THE SALES MANAGER WAS NOT REASONABLE & CARED MORE ABOUT HIS POCKETS & NOT THE CUSTOMER TO THAT HE SOLD THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE TO. I WOULD NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY B/C; THEY DO NOT INSPECT THEIR VEHICLES AS THEY SHOULD. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON. I HAD AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE & WILL NOT EVER REFER ANYONE TO THEM!!!
