Lawn mower/saw shop update ?? My dad works on mowers but was fresh out of surgery at the time When I bought this mower the individual let me know it needed a pto switch went by saw shop got pto switch ($60) got home plugged in pto switch engaged blades 1 time and belt come off Took it back and told them to give it a good look over and fix whatever it needed ( pic 1 of what they charged ??) went and picked it up thinking it should be good to go after paying that...got it home engaged blades once and belt came off....took it back told them to look it over cause it still wasn't right...they called amd told me it was about $160 but it needed a battery($70) which should have been $240 total .... when I went to pick it up they charged me $400 cause they said pto was bad and they had to replace it(never mentioned that on the phone) and mind you that is a brand new pto they sold me (2nd pic of what they charged me ??)....was told either i pay it or they keep my mower....got it home and what do you know....engaged once and belt came off!!! My daddy fixed it Saturday and you will NEVER believe what was wrong with it!!! WRONG PULLEY! IT WAS DOUBLE THE SIZE OF THE OTHERS AND NO LIP TO HOLD THE BELT ON???? OHHHHH ANNND! THE PTO SWITCH THEY CLAIMED THAT WAS BURNT UP...PLUGGED IT IN AND WORK JUST FINE!!! (VIDEO OF IT TODAY) not only did they do all of this and it was still not fixed they charged me for parts I didn't need....refused to listen to me, was very ugly, threatened to keep my mower AND threatened to call the law on me just because I was explaining how they sold me parts and labor that didn't fix the problem or that I neededBusiness response

True that the mower was here twice. The first time we were asked to put on the mower belt which we did. When the unit came back the complaint was that we did not put in on correctly, however we found that a sweet gum ball had gotten into the pulley after it left here. We removed that and put the belt back on the mower. We also found that there was an issue with the drive system belt and a pulley on the drive system and that the PTO was intermittently working. We repaired the drive belt and drive pulley so that the mower would drive without fear of the drive belt breaking. We then advised the customer that the PTO system was not working correctly. The first issue we faced was that the battery on the mower would not hold a charge. So we replaced the battery to stabilize the current in the electrical system however the pto clutch was still working intermittently. We traced it back to a short in the pto switch (also it appears that someone had been messing with the wires on the PTO clutch switch as if they were trying to bypass the safety system) and replaced it so that the blades would come on when the system was engaged. The customer said the belt came off again because the tensioner system on the deck had the wrong pulley on it. We never replaced a pulley on the tensioner system on the deck it may have been done by another mechanic. The customer also stated that they put the original pto switch on the unit and it worked. We told the customer that it would only work intermittently as if it had some sort of short in it. After we replaced the PTO switch the blades seemed to engage properly.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
There is a ton of false information here. We told them to look it over fully the first visit not just put the belt back on (receipt of what they charged in attachments) we NEVER even used the mower because it wasn't fixed and also don't have the first sweet gum tree so it was not in there AFTER they worked on it. I was never told something was wrong with the wiring I was told the pto was burnt up and they had to replace it. We found a fuse that was burnt up that caused the blades to engage improperly, easy cheap fix, and it has worked fine since WITH the first pto switch on it! The belt popping off was a result in THE WRONG PULLEY being on it. Funny how this place of business NEVER seen the issues that WE had to fix that was alot cheaper than what they did that DID NOT FIX this unit at all. Also there was no issue in the drive as I drove it up ok the trailer and everything ....the drive was fine!

We did in fact put the belt on for the customer and tested the mower. The belt did not come off. When the unit was brought back in we did find a sweet gum ball wedged into the pulley which made the belt come off. We did not install the wrong pulley that keep being talked about. Regarding the blown fuse, there was no blown fuse while it was here or the PTO system would have never worked. Regarding the drive we noticed the belt was about to break and the tensioner pulley was damaged. The customer was informed about this and asked us to fix it.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I'm not going to continue to argue about this matter! We was lied to, used, and ripped off! They keep saying it was "fixed" the unit was NEVER fixed the whole time they had it and after all the money we handed them! Then was very rude and unprofessional and told I either pay for it or they keep the unit! My dad fixed it with $20! I have all receipts and proof of the unit never being fixed and not needing half of the stuff they said it needed! A battery and a service was all they did that I can say was right! They never saw the wrong pulley that wouldn't hold the belt on or it would have been a simple fix....again it was never run AND we have NO sweet gum trees/balls so IF they did find a sweet gym ball it was there the whole time they had it!

I am rejecting this response because:
The last time I was in that shop, you threatened to call the law on me because you didn't want to hear that it wasn't fixed and I was unhappy about being charged something it didn't need and something I had already paid to replace once! THEN I was told you was going to keep my mower or I had to pay it regardless if I liked it or not! I will NEVER bring anything back to you! Very unprofessional and ripping people off!

I picked up my pressure washer on July 13 ( they had it since June 5, (37 days), there was a no start issue AND a water leak in the pump area. all of this is in writing on the work order, when i got it home there was NO water/pump pressure so i took it back and explained the problem. The lady said I need to speak to ******, I went to see ****** and explained there was NO water/pump pressure. he told me " we DONT work on or replace pumps" I said " with your experience and knowledge you knew there was a 50/50 chance of a bad pump, ( my pump issue/leak is in writing on the work order ) WHY DIDNT YOU INFORM ME OF THIS IN THE BEGENNING?" The pump issue is in writing on YOUR work order. Dont you inform your customers of things you DONT do? he became defensive and unwilling to offer any help or suggestions. I asked if he would have his technician look at it..he said NO, WE DONT WORK ON PUMPS. i was told that the technician started the engine. ( If he started the engine he should have noticed there was no water/pump pressure ) MAYBE he did start the engine WITHOUT a water hose connected and that may have damaged the pump, the machine had good water/pump pressure when i dropped it off. The main reason I took there was due to a NO START/ ENGINE issue. After I paid and took it home I discoverd the NO PRESSURE/PUMP issue. ONCE AGAIN..the machine had GOOD water pressure/pump when I dropped it off, after they worked on it the machine had NO PRESSURE /PUMP.Business response

Mr. ***** did drop off his pressure washer for repair and he was verbally informed that on cheap knock-off pressure washers that are sold at box stores pumps and parts for the pump system were not accessible as service after the sale of these products sold by the box stores does not exist. He told us that his concern was getting the unit to running. We followed his instructions on the engine repair and tried to follow his directions on how to obtain the parts needs to make the repair. His words were that he is not in a hurry if we could possible save him some money on any shipping of the repair parts. We tried to save him UPS charges but that did not work. We got the repair parts in and repaired the unit as directed. He picked up the unit and complained that the pump was not working. As we did not touch anything to with the pump system we could only assume it did not work before he brought it. Maybe he knew this maybe he did not regardless we were hired to get the engine running and we did just that. It is unfortunate that his pump does not work. He asked why we did not check that. When the unit came in to the shop it was not working and we verbally to him that we have no access to parts for the pump system and his reply "I am not concerned with that just get the pressure washer running". It is also unfortunate that a few consumers , especially those who cheap out and purchase sub par products, use platforms like the BBB or social media as weapon to try to make others pay for their purchasing short comings. Maybe those type of customers should be abusing the establishment that they bought the product from instead of the hard working people out in the market that try to help folks keep their equipment running. Most of the time they just keep going in those places that offer no service after the sale.Customer response

Regards,
***** " ******" *****..The pressure washer had GOOD PRESSURE when I dropped it off at their shop, They did replace the carbureator and that fixed the NO START issue. But now it has NO PRESSURE, the pressure was fine when I droped it off. If they had checked the machine ( like a testing to make sure it was correcty ) they would have noticed this, when I dropped of the machine I did not ask for a NO PRESSUERE repair ( I only ask for a NO STSRT repair ) because it had GOOD PRESSURE when I droped it off. Had there been a NO PRESSURE issue I would have ask for a repair, but there was no need for that.

We can't confirm or deny the customers complaint regarding the pressure washer having "good pressure" when he dropped it off, however we did confirm that the engine was not capable of starting. The repair we were asked to perform has nothing to do with the pump on the pressure washer. As stated in prior post we verbally told customer that we have no issues getting the gas engine running (which is all we did) however we were not going to be working on the pump portion of the machine as service parts are unavailable. His claim that we somehow damaged his pump is incorrect.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: IT is clear that the saw shop is going to deny/disagree with anything I say. The bottom line is that my machine had GOOD PRESSURE when i brought it to them, when I picked it up it had NO PRESSURE. I will seek other methods (legal methods) in order to resolve this issue.

I reject his statement and stick to our original position. We told the customer that we do not work on the pump portion of the machine when he dropped it off. We did not touch the pump during the repair. We only got the gas engine running as requested.
